Not at all, he’s completely right.
As a general comment, no one is saying to arrest Ye for exercising his right to free speech. "Pay the price" means to be condemned by others for being hateful. For example, if I said all purple people should be murdered like cockroaches, that would not mean that I should go to jail. However, it would probably be good if most of the world agreed that I was a terrible person and stopped giving me money, platforms, and love after I showed my anti-purple agenda. That would be me "paying the price" you absolute knobs.

What Kanye said was disturbing but falls within the confines of legal free speech because his praising of Hitler as despicable it was, was not in the form of an expression of hatred against the Jews but some meaningless extraneous praise. It’s always free speech to say you love everybody. It’s insulting to Jews to praise Hitler but as a Jew I believe our democracy protects Kanye’s free expression even if we don’t like it. That changes to unprotected hate speech if he talks of loving Hitler for committing genocide and targets that expression at Jews, but he clearly didn’t say that. In fact he said he loves Jews too.
