Just an FYI from an upholsterer...the reason the fabric on your cushions is so wrinkled is that: 1. Your fabric isn’t heavy enough. You need to use something like canvas, vinyl, or outdoor fabric (outdoor is stain and moisture resistant). 2. The cushions will have much better structure if you wrap the foam in a polyester quilt batting before putting the fabric on. Cut a piece big enough to wrap around the top, bottom, and one side, then cut one long strip to go around the other 3 sides.(It’s cheap at Walmart). Use spray adhesive to keep it in place. 3. When stapling, don’t go down the length of the first side from one end to the other; put a staple in one end, then the other, the middle, and a couple in between. Now turn it over and make sure it looks straight. Add enough staples to keep it in place, but not so many that you have to rip the fabric off if you want to keep it for some reason. After you get the first long side of fabric stapled, go to the other long side; now you have to pull it about 4 times more tightly than you think you need to. It’s nice to have someone help you with this. **A professional would use upholstery tacks and a tack hammer before putting in any staples, but that would be an expensive investment for one project. Just some info for the next time around!
It's not often that a 30 min video keeps my attention. Very well done! Thank you for taking the time to explain the steps you took every step of the way. I didn't want this to end. The memories you'll create you will cherish forever. Many generations of laughter and joy will continue thanks to you're caring attention to this labor of love.
Just bought a 2009 Jayco . Plan on going over the top with a remodel since we are old and want to camp without roughing it too much on a budget so thanks for some of the ideas 💡. thanks for sharing .
You did a lovely job, I have camped in popup tent campers since 1980's and wouldn't do it any other way. I love how easy they are to tow with my SUV, easy on gas, yet can boondock it. They take a beating and just keep going. Raised 3 kids in ours. We take our Anatolian Shepherd with us, HUGE DOG and no one ever bothered us. He holds down the fort for us at times if we leave the camper unattended.
My daughter has a used camper she bought a few months ago. Its identical to yours but here curtains and fabrics are black, red and light gray. She bought a little red retro looking microwave for hers about 100.00 or less at Walmart.
Looks just like the one I have but it’s the Starcraft (Venture) model 1997. I removed the decal s last year and repainted the outside. Replace vinyl trim accessories cover s electric, water etc.
You have a nice little home and Pippa is so happy it's a good home for you both to continue your adventures.Stay safe and healthy.God Bless you both. This is a cute place where you can make it comfortable for you both.Happy Travels.
I just started remodeling my 94 starcraft. We have had it for 5 years, and its time. Its cool to see what the original stuff looked like on yours vs mine. For instance while redoing the floor I found out this is the 4th time flooring has changed since I see the other 3 layers. I also did not know my curtains were original however mine is missing the drapes .
NICELY DONE!.....PRO TIP: THE BIT (IN YOUR CORDLESS SCREW DRIVER) YOU ARE USING WORKS BUT IT IS NOT THE CORRECT STYLE. ALMOST ALL RV'S USE WHAT IS CALLED A ROBERTSON DRIVE SCREW. ELECTRICIANS REFER TO IT AS A "NUMBER 2 SQUARE DRIVE BIT". MAYBE THE NEXT TIME YOUR HUSBAND GOES TO HOME DEPOT, HE CAN PICK UP A COUPLE BITS FOR YOUR CORDLESS. AGAIN NICE LITTLE TRAILER. I COMPLETELY REBUILT ONE FOR THE WIFE. SHE LOVED IT. CHEERS!
Very nice renovations y'all remind me of the great memories growing up where we went camping with a 1972 Skamper Pop Up camper in so many State Parks, National Parks and Commercial Campgrounds for so many years :) Our parents taught us so much and such great times and memories
The gap in the door jam is there because of the weight of the pop out bed. I made a n adjustment to where the polls under the bed attached and the gap went away. Over time the wood in the frame of the trailer start to move do to the weight of the pullouts and people moving around on them.
As you commented, your pop up seems to have pretty good bones. The cabinets are in very good shape! I know this video is 6 months old. But, for cabinets and seating areas, that will get a good bit of use, at least a semi gloss paint would have been the best thing to use. The finish is more durable. And should clean up well. Flat paint should really only be used on walls where there is little to no contact. The work you put into your trailer shows well. And you must be satisfied with the effort you put into it. Your family should enjoy many fun times.
Looks really good...I and my husband bought that exact popup many years back and we remodel it ...I did white and teal and the cushions in a multi color that had teal in also...it really turned out great..We enjoyed a lot of Camping trips in...Your going to love it..
Personally I think Starcraft has the best designs for pop-up camper. EZ to set up a tow. Had a Star lounge. I could tow with my GMC Sonoma, 2.2L 4 cylinder.
Love this video as we have the identical same Starcraft trailer and seeing you transform it from its old original look to something modern and fresh and bright, is awesome. I'm curious, did you ever do anything further? You'd mentioned putting new floor in and some other stuff, but I don't see any follow-up videos. Was hoping to see the final results of the makeover when you deemed it completely done. :)
Good job! We're looking to get back into camping. We used to own a pop up but the rigging finally cratered then we went to a regular 26' trailer and then got out. Now 25 yrs later we're in the market for another pop up! Hope to do what you're doing for relatively cheap. New travel trailers of any kind, even minis are incredibly expensive! Wish us luck. Happy travels!
I took out stove and heater so I could put in a portable potty on first camping trip it rained and not having to go out side to pee in middle of night in the rain totally worth it. Also I’m not keen on fridge/cooler with food in a pop up with bears scares me.
I've ALWAYS wanted a camper! The hubby has always had one so it wasn't that big of a deal to HIM, so he found a camper for sale from a guy on our deer lease and omg it was such a good deal, we could NOT pass it up! { it's a 5th wheel for $700 and NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!} but I've FOREVER I've wanted to make a "GLAMPER" so he bought it for ME and I've been slowly redoing it {just basically cosmetic} but I'm doing kind of "glam" version of shabby chic! I'm super excited about it! We've had it for a couple of years now and I just work on it when I want to and when my back can handle it. I've KINDA gotten to a spot where I have to have his help so since we're not really in a hurry to do anything, it's just kind of a project that I do for fun or whatever. Plus, when my daughter and her gf come to town, they stay out there! So we could STILL totally use it if we were to go camping since the only thing I'm doing BASICALLY is cosmetic. There ARE a couple of things that I wanna do that Jeff has to do... like I found this olddddd pale pink enamel wash tub thing and he's gonna cut a hole in it and put it in for me in place of the sink in the kitchen area! Omg won't that be sooo darlin? Lol And then it has that faux wood flooring and since it sat out in the HAWT A$$ west Texas desert 🏜 for YEARS so a few of the boards have kinda come "unstuck" so he's gonna probably pull them all up and put them back down the RIGHT WAY {he's done every kind of construction there is so he does EVERYTHING the "perfect way" lol but I'm gonna paint them like a few different of the shabby chic colors and then distress them so that's the other thing I can't do by myself. {I could if my back wasn't jacked up 😕} And I'm THINKING about using this super thick foam board {it's ACTUALLY some kind of thick insulation sheets that he uses for his hvac business} but I am thinking about cutting and painting them like fake boards and and putting them on the ceiling kinda like shiplap..... Anyhoo, I've had a BLAST working on it. Right now, it's time to paint everything but it's soooo hot and humid here and I'm gonna use primer before I paint, which has to be done with the door opened {I learned THAT the hard way lol} so that part will have to wait until it's a good bit cooler outside! 😘
Wow! What a fantastic deal!!! So glad you didn't pass it up. The glamping touches will be so cute! I would love to see pics when you finish it😍 yes definitely paint with the windows and doors open. Lol.
This was so much fun to watch ! My in laws have a class A camper they got recently which is awesome but I really have been wanting to get one to fix up and this makes me want one even more 🤗🥰 hope you are doing well girl 💕
OMG I am so behind on comments on this channel 🤦♀️. 💖Thanks so much girl! I Hope you can get a camper soon! They really are so much fun to work on and fix up. I Love watching videos like that too! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you all are doing well and staying safe!!
It must have been your doggie but while you were wiping the stove backsplash it sure looked like a small bear sniffing under the tree in the background! 😊 🐻
I just got a 1993 coleman pioneer for free! I am going to venture in diy redo.....no clue what I'm doing I also need to replace the cushions and canvas
I’m looking at a 90’s one (likely very early 90’s) Coleman a friend acquired from his mom when she passed. No keys to get in it. Curious the condition. My wife is concerned with storing it. We have lots of neighbors with them in front yard, right on the street. Seems fine with a good cover..
Very nice re-do & informative also. I have a question about something that's over the bed that's on the table side. It looks like a shelf to me. If it is, where did you get it?
NEW SUBSCRIBER!! Loved the video. You may have to re-align the door or the latch or both. Campers travelling down the road over the years bouncing tend to have things shift out of alignment
Do you know where to get the tabs for the curtains to fit into the plastic track? I am redoing our 1995 Jayco pop up and I need to redo the curtains bad!!
Our friends use those reflective inserts you can buy for campers. I've also seen a ton of people at campgrounds use tarps over the pullouts. We didn't do anything to insulate when we went in the fall (big mistake) and we froze 😬 ❄ lol.
It's looking lovely! I question your desire for white curtains, though. They'll look nice for about five minutes before getting filthy... it is camping, after all. ;)
I’ve only just found your pop up Reno video and I was wondering if you used anything to clean the mattresses and the foam on the benches. Or did you by every new?

We just st bought a Rock Wood pop up this Monday. I'll be happy for some ideas !
I am currently doing a pop up remodel of my own! You are doing a great job! It’s a labor of love! 💕
It definitely is lol!! Thank you so much!! Have fun with your camper💖
If i have a pop up. I like to move the sink and drawer out and the table and wooden seat to give more space.
This is great! We have ALWAYS wanted to refurbish a trailer! Hopefully soon!!🙌
Thank you so much Sweet Friends!! I hope you guys can do one soon! They're a lot of work, but a lot of fun 🤗

Been wanting a small camper - good job. I wud need at least a wet bath or some kind of bathroom
I think you should paint the fridge something contrasting like a powder blue or yellow, or pink.
Did you ever do the floors with the vinyl plank?? Hope so. Would love to see it. I bet it would look fabulous. You did such a great job 👍
I’d love to find one of these campers for us!❤️❤️ nice job Casey!
Thank you Carol💕 I hope you find one soon. They're so fun to redo and perfect for family camping⛺
Looks Great,
That’s beautiful 🤩

Hey can you make a video on updating outlets for these ? I have a 1992 pop up and I don’t know how to take my outlets out and put new ones in
Excellent job so far, it looks great.
Thank you so much, Alison💕💕💕
I just got a 1993 coleman pioneer for free! I am going to venture in diy redo.....no clue what I'm doing

Beautiful work! Our friend is gifting us a pop up camper and I am over the moon grateful and excited! Your video was very helpful. :)
Yay! Congratulations on your new pop up! You will love it💖 It's made camping so much more fun and comfortable. We can bring our dog with now
Thank you sooo much!!

Do you know where to get the tabs for the curtains to fit into the plastic track? I am redoing our 1995 Jayco pop up and I need to redo the curtains bad!!
Hello all, I’m picking up my first pop up camper this weekend! Any ideas on how to keep them more insulated for cooling and heating?
Our friends use those reflective inserts you can buy for campers. I've also seen a ton of people at campgrounds use tarps over the pullouts. We didn't do anything to insulate when we went in the fall (big mistake) and we froze 😬 ❄ lol.
Military sleeping bag
It's looking lovely! I question your desire for white curtains, though. They'll look nice for about five minutes before getting filthy... it is camping, after all. ;)
Thank you so much Kristen! We are loving it💖
Hmmm, I wonder if they work for super clean??
I’ve only just found your pop up Reno video and I was wondering if you used anything to clean the mattresses and the foam on the benches. Or did you by every new?
Fast forward, I checked for the next video and could not find one. Did you not do the floors and other changes that you talked about?
Hi! Did your paint hold up ok?
The door problem might change when the camper is level
I was wondering if you all were able to use your camper over the summer. The makeover really gave it a new life.
We got to use it once this summer. The campgrounds were a little too crowded for our comfort with Covid and all. But we Love it!
@@lifeloveendlesslaundry9445 I'm happy you were able to use it; even though it is just once. Keep a good thought for next year.
Did you replace the flooring? I looked but never found a second video.
The camper looks wonderful! Were you able to find out how to replace/fix the elastic pieces that hold the vinyl under the bunk ends?
Hi Keri! Thank you so much! No, I haven't found them yet. It hasn't caused any issues with the few that are missing.. so far lol. 😄💕
@@lifeloveendlesslaundry9445 The issue is that the grommet/s came out of the canvas. If your canvas is still in good shape, you can take them off and replace the grommet. Long shot here, what size are the beds?
Did you paint over the laminant or is that wood
How did the exterior paint hold up?
I'm wondering the same
The old fabric on your cushions is the same fabric I,had on a couch.
This looks almost just like my camper. I also have a makeover video of it on my channel.
Is there a part2?
I would love it if you were a trailer makeover, you could correct and clean them, you would make alot of money, and also sell me one.🤣
what year is your camper
👍
Got my interest.
Just don’t get why a hurricane lantern that isn’t a lantern? It takes batteries.
Just me I guess - just don’t get making a LED look like a lantern. I prefer the kero version.
😄 yah it's different lol. It works great inside the camper at night for a low light.
Spray paint the hardware matte black
Great idea! Can you recommend one that doesn't scratch off easily?🤗
@@lifeloveendlesslaundry9445 Home Depot will be able to
Invest in a power washer
The sink and stove to me are pointless in a glorified tent. Id rip those out and get creative with the extra space.
Any update?
This was just watching you clean. Learned nothing.
I guess some men just don't get it! Lol!
