Catalyst was released just before Oceansize's debut album 'Effloresce' - the album featured shimmering, delicate ambient keyboards and their trademark hypnotic, 3-guitar attack. All the tracks were recorded and produced by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Feeder) during Spring /Summer 2003.

How the fuck have I missed this band? Absolutely amazing music. I've been listening to Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Tesseract, and all sorts of prog / metal bands for a long time. I've never heard of Oceansize until I came accross a band called "Iamthemorning". On their wikipedia page, I found out they named their band after a song by Oceansize. And here I am...

Fun fact: oceansize came up with their band title same way as iamthemorning - there is some song called ocean size, so guys thought their music would sound similar. And yeah check out Amplifier if you didn't already!

pedro faria They have absolutely no resemblance. Oceansize is post rock, with highly progressive albums. Royal Blood is garage rock, that is surely influenced by Oceansize. But there is a world of difference.

I'm sure I heard this song already, but I don't forgot if it was from a movie or something. Definitely not directly from the band first. But hey, I am grateful I finally heard it again. This song is such an emotional ride.

Are you kidding? Effloresce was really good, Everyone into Position was a great album and Frames was fucking excellence. I dont think you have really listened to them properly. I saw them on their last visit to Australia when they supported Karnivool back in 2009ish. They put on one of the greatest live sets I have seen. Up there with Tool, Massive Attack, Radiohead and Porcupine Tree. In my opinion, Oceansize is one of the great acts out of the UK in the last 20 years. "The only really awesome track" Pffft... Check again mate. I miss you Oceansize, I was honoured to be with you near the end.

Jarryd Watts I wish I could see them live, I'm 17 now and in the U.S. so it wouldn't ever have been possible. I can't see Porcupine Tree either, actually they'll probably get back together. Never heard of Massive Attack, I'm going to go look them up.
