They had a son who's half khmer and half lao. 10,000 khmer soldiers were assigned to accompany the lao king and take part in military campaigns to assert lao authority in the upper mekong valley under the guidance of khmer angkorian laws of governorship. Those 10,000 khmer soldiers had resettled in laos and married with lao women to create hybrid offspring. So yes, laos do have angkorian blood due to the monarchy connection.
