Pro. DM great and informative review. Looks like he will get my money. Also, loved Deathbringer at the end. I literally spat my drink out when I put it together. Speaking of Deathbringer, you really need to do a couple videos centered on the BIG Evil Guy in Platemail w/Battle Axe. Something along the lines of a Deathbringer Talk show with him interviewing special guests or maybe with you, Pro. DM interviewing Deathbringer. I think it would be hilarious and extremely entertaining. Anyway keep up the great videos. This is by far my favorite RUclips channel. Thank you
Not even close to my preference for a setting/adventure, but there are some mechanical ideas there. I love that the "4 Dimensional Chess" guy can't be killed, you just killed a body double!
this would be worth it to me for the information on how thieves guilds operate. I did all the thieves guild quests in Skyrim and I only came away from it with, "...tHeY sTeAl sTuFF, duH!" so yeah, any extra info to add more realism and layers is helpful.
@@thekelvingreen Oh, this was the Werewolf of Chalons. I used it as an NPC in our Vampire: The Masquerade game many years ago. I quite forgot about this.
After preparing it for my group, my opinion is that 1. Must buy for anyone that wants to see a detectiv plot that respects the GM. Other authors could learn a thing or two from this adventure. 2. The adventure is easily adjustable to other settings 3. The author is rather dislikable due to some of the comments in the adventure. I most likely won't buy any other product written by him.
Hmm.. looks pretty through, the thieves guild materials especially so, but the title could've been better thought out. 🤔 It sounds like Paris in The Days of Terror mixed with The Ronna Scary x 30 Days Later. 🤔 🤷
Are there enough incidental combat encounters along the way to the showdown for the player who does not enjoy talking and investigating and searching? In the same vein, even though you are not suppose to kill but rather capture and arrest the killer, is their a climax fight for the fighty-PCs?
Are there consequences if the players fail? Is any advice included on how to integrate magic that can impact investigations (know alignment, augury, legend lore, locate object, ESP, etc?).
It's a "yes" to both questions. I don't cover every specific spell, because everyone's game is different, but I do try to explain in general how magic would affect the investigation.
It'd be easy enough to change the victims from little kids to adolescent kids or women or whatever, I'd think. People would probably be more upset if it were puppies, kittens or minks, maybe even rats.
I'm interested in making Death Bringer a character in my campaign. Do you have a stat block for him. Also where would I find a miniature to represent him?
Sounds cool, but I'm always astounded at how designers fail to understand the role of appropriate art. It helps sets the tone as much as the text does. And the art here looks like it represents a whimsical adventure where you compete in a baking contest. No offense to the artist, it just absolutely does not conjure the feeling of the narrative described.
Maybe I am a bit spoiled, but I thought the art was a bit too bright for this grim adventure. Definately would like to read this, though. Espacially the part about the Court of Miracles.
Hullo! LotFP is a (sort of) clone of B/X D&D so you should be able to use this with most versions of D&D, with a little conversion work. It's not very stat-heavy anyway.
It's fascinating that a story with such a dark theme uses such colourful and almost cartoon-style drawn art. Reminds me of "DRAGON'S LAIR" arcade game actually. How fitting! Ha ha ha 😊 You avoided the nasty word very skillfully in your introduction, Professor. Well done, sir ! 😇👍 But this story itself seems heavily derived from the "Skinner Murders" story set in the Bridge District in BALDUR'S GATE 2. What do you think, Professor? M 🦘🏏😎
The adventure is based on actual historical events (a mix of Jack the Ripper and the Demon Tailor). I have played BG2, but it was 20+ years ago, so that quest is unlikely to have been an influence. ;)
Thanks for the review! Very kind! ❤️
You're welcome. I really enjoyed it and will play it this summer.
This looks like a must buy. Thank you very much for the review.
Another solid exit joke from Deathbringer.
He is well worth his salt.
I don't know what you're paying him but double it.
Yeah DB is a funny guy. Wait, no DB, I don't think you are funny ha ha like a clown, no, no, I didn't mean you are here to amuse us... :D
More like Death zinger
@@mrgunn2726 Ah goodfellas
I love when good content us respected with a proper presentation , good art , good binding , proper printing and layout.
Awesome. I'll probably get this one. Thanks for the review.
Looks like a good buy. Thanks for the review. And thanks, Deathbringer, for my first chuckle of the day.
"Fish Fuckers?" That's the most hilarious title 🤣
It's a great one.

I love the bloody belly on the mini to the left of Deathbringer’s axe in the intro.
Omg Deathbringer’s acronym joke has me absolutely belly laughing!! 🤣😂
I won’t lie, I bought this specifically because of this review.
Gonna transport this to Shadowrun/Seattle when I get my copy!
I run grim dark, low fantasy games. I may need to pick this one up.
Looks awesome, great review!
Not my bag, but definitely appreciate your bringing another great review!
This is one I have to check out

This would be perfect for my musketeer campaign
YES. Check out my adaptation "The Demon Tailor" on YT for ideas.
Just like that, I'm a fan again.
Sounds intriguing, well thought out and made to run
Great review as always PDM, definitively I'm gonna check this adventure. Got a big laugh with that joke Deathbringer

Very cool. I once took the Alienist novel plot and converted it to a Legends of the 5 Rings game, so your mentioning that was informative to me
This is truly stupendous!
The demon tailor with razor sharp scissors sounds like a very unsubtle reimagining of Sweeney Todd.
The demon tailor of Paris was a real historical figure, although I moved him forward from the 1500s to the 1630s for this adventure.
@@thekelvingreen Oh, this was the Werewolf of Chalons. I used it as an NPC in our Vampire: The Masquerade game many years ago. I quite forgot about this.
Another great video. Sounds like a great product.
Might get this even if I don't run it.
Wow! Thanks for the tip!
High praise, great review!
Well, now I'm curious about the thieves' guild!
Great review, thanks PDM! Sounds like I need to buy this one.
I'm reminded of AD&D L2, The Assassin's Knot.
Earliest I've ever been for this channel
Been having a rough couple days Prof, this book looks like a perfect way to shake up Vallaki in my Strahd Redux campaign coming up!
YES!
Definitely gonna steal the 4-D chess ability for a Lord Vetinari type NPC in some future game. Also, the author's voice is hilarious!
Sam Vines approved
Freak in the sheets, terror in the streets.
Here for the glory of the algorithm....
Thank you.

Terror in the Streets, Saint in the Sheets.
Sounds interesting not sure my group would be into it or not though
I just got this... nice review
Nice callout Deathbringer.
Will you be running any games at Gencon this year? I’d love to come play, or say hello!
Yes. Look for Professor Dungeonmaster's MacDeath and Professor Dungeonmaster's Frankenstein.
Hmm.. looks pretty through, the thieves guild materials especially so, but the title could've been better thought out. 🤔 It sounds like Paris in The Days of Terror mixed with The Ronna Scary x 30 Days Later. 🤔 🤷
looks pretty cool
Love the review, and definitely want to check this out! Was there a reccomended number of players for this module?
Hullo! It was tested with groups of four players.
Are there enough incidental combat encounters along the way to the showdown for the player who does not enjoy talking and investigating and searching? In the same vein, even though you are not suppose to kill but rather capture and arrest the killer, is their a climax fight for the fighty-PCs?
You have to add them. I'd add some gangsters to cause trouble and the lead gangster attacks at just the moment the PCs are about to nab the killer.
If you hit a hard spot, and can't seem to get past it? just ask what Deathbringer would do. works for me.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Sounds great, art looks good, but...
The black musketeers were named for the color of their horses.
Sequel adventure to Lady in the Sheets
If you find this adventure good Mr Prof. DM Look for the adventure „The Saint of Bruckstadt“.
Great video!!!!
More like terror in the sheets ayo!
Looks great - Deathbringer’s parting shot though…
Dpnt suppose anyone knows expected play time for this? Potentially a one shot?
So many spoilers. I’m assuming this is not a video to share with the players.
I had to look at the title. Lol

What is your expectation on how much playtime the average group will get out of this adventure?
1 Thumbs Up = 1 XP!
It'd be easy enough to change the victims from little kids to adolescent kids or women or whatever, I'd think. People would probably be more upset if it were puppies, kittens or minks, maybe even rats.
Hi PDM
can you review NO REST FOR THE WICKED?
Thanks in advance.
PS will buy this module before that. Cheers

Be more interesting to set this during the revolution.
There is a Call of Cthulhu adventure set during the revolution, if you're interested in playing in that time period.
What do you think of Tuesday knight games? They recently shouted you out on their RUclips channel.
Easily used in DND?
