    I have filmed the a330 at 5:40! Awesome to see it in the old livery. Can't believe that much has changed in 16 years, all those DC-9's, 744's, and A340's :) Liked!

    I remember seeing an article when AC first ordered the 747-400 Combi they requested a heavier specialized landing gear; however this heavier version ended up being very expensive to maintain and Air Canada decided to end the 747 leases and ordered the A340-600. ( they initially ordered the 747-400 then sold them and leased them back.) A year later they cancelled the A340-600 order in favor of the 777-300ER.

    I guess it's safe to assume that most of Air Canada's pilots are former Canadian Air Force pilots. I mean, a butterfly couldn't make a smoother touch down on a flower than the landings seen in this video. Great video!

    Best move ridding themselves of the 340's. gas hog, underpowered pigs. The 787's were a VERY wise fleet move. 04:39 Greased it.....

    Awesome collection of Air Canada planes! Go AC go! I liked the 1:35 shot of the Air Canada 767 passing by the Canadian Airlines 767 on the ramp. And videos of Air Canada 744s are always fun to watch! I don't think we'll ever see AC operate double-deckers in the future.
    BTW, could you imagine watching a compilation of Westjet's fleet? All you'd see is 737 after 737 after 737.... yawn...

    Air Canada flew everything, DC-8s, 737s, 320s, DC-9s on up to the biggies 747s, even TriStars. Most carriers stick with one type of small, single aisle aircraft, at least until mergers bring in different machines in the same class. For long haul 2-3 airframes is normal, but Air Canada had to have them all. making AC the Aviation Freaks best carriers for airplane watching.

      No, Air Canada was retired their 747s in 2004, replacing 747s to A340. The A340 was retires in 2008 and being replaced by 777-300er.

  • @zszs100
    @zszs100 12 лет назад +2

    Why did Air Canada get rid of their 747s???
    Their current boeing 777s are SOOO loud. I have to talk very lound to other people. I have been on an A340-600 and its so quit. The sound was so relaxing it puts me to sleep. I have to whisper to the person beside me and still worry about waking others up! :O

    • @yazanc7665
      @yazanc7665 6 лет назад +1

      zszs100 The A340s are wayyyy louder than the 777s (I am talking about cabin noise), plus I think it’s an advantage to have a loud plane.
