People want market prices and better articulation from Super7. They make really cool products but their pricing is way off and with so many options out there, people are choosing to put their money into things which have greater perceived value.

I was very sad to not get White tigerzord but at the time of the pre-order I didn't have any super 7 MMPR in hand yet so skipped it, after I got the tyrannosaurus in hand it and saw how these were my ideal zords the tigerzord was already canceled. I'm all in for the super 7 zords so next I'd love an ultimate's megadragon zord then the remaining individual zords then from there maybe a titanus as I wouldn't want the thunder megazord without another shot at the white tiger. It's a shame but another thing I did notice is while this year was MMPR's 30th it in no way is as big or ever green as say Transformer, TMNT or other properties
Someone needs to tell him we are all reluctant to preorder anymore because 50% of the time the product delivered is drastically worse than the product shown.
$55 a figure isn’t working for the quality they put out anymore. Their figures go clearance almost upon release now. They can either make better figures or drop their prices. If one of those doesn’t change I don’t see Super 7 staying long in this industry. They already do very small runs and have had to cancel stuff a lot due to low demand. They need someone to be honest about their plastic quality and QC issues like unpainted faces before I’d ever consider giving them more money.
I was a day one collector for TMNT but I sold off my collection recently because of QC issues (Krang anyone?) and the change in direction from toy to other. I know it's not entirely their fault for the direction change, but they sold me on toy versions and now they can't deliver. Also, I will be out of Super7 Ultimates very soon as I will be getting rid of my G.I. Joe collection. The oversight for non-painted faces in Series 2 and no remedy to the problem by Super7 was the last straw. Finally, I agree that $55 is way too much. You are paying for packaging, not quality toys. It seems only Thundercats is getting the love, the rest of the lines are not.

I can’t wait to get Guerilla Gorilla. In the vintage line they had Sgt.Bananas the guerilla gorilla(that was on his cardback). But this look was in the tmnt magazine. I plan to put this with my NECA toon tmnt figures. I’m really hoping to see figures for the Uncanny Trio at some point(Nocturno the Owl, Scare Crow, & Hallo Cat). As well as Armaggon! Also can’t wait to see Super 7 do Antrax
Good to know Disney Ultimates aren't completely dead, but the lack of any new waves going up since the Rescuers flop has me worried. I feel they should focus on more popular films rather than niche stuff such as Rescuers. Liked seeing the new TNG and Transformers figures in box, but there wasn't a clear look at them. I assume they'll be on display at NYCC.
Transformers wise....that's not Tracks, that's Tarn, another character from the IDW Transformers comics. Although looks great though. Good to hear we are getting more although it feels very neglected.
And it felt very neglected in this interview too. Showed off some figures and said more to come and that was it but there is genuine concern from collectors that this line is going nowhere considering the last couple of waves announced
Nice interview, like always. Just one question, how come you never ask why Super 7 always has some issues with loose joints? It is no different than other toy lines that issues, but it appears that Super 7 Ultimates always will have some loose joints.
It's obvious ! He doesn't want to piss Brian off ! Other podcasters do the same thing, they never ask Brian why something is messed up ! For example, why didn't they make Tally Hawk able to clip onto QuickSilver's wrist like the other Hawks ??? I'm a supporter of Brian's figures but there still are issues I wish would be addressed !

With Sesame Street I don't think Ultimates is necessarily the right format. I think that Sesame Street that match in size and pack-out with Palisades' Muppets line is the way to go.
I love what Super7 has done with Thundercats, Joes, and Transformers. Started with Ultimates and have slowly cherry picked reaction figs, and I hate when the community comes down too readily on these figs as their designs are going for a nostalgia aesthetic over articulation, which is all good imo... With that said, the only issue I think I'd want changed for future releases is packing Ultimates with less accessories. I'm really just an open the box and display collector, which usually just involves one set of hands, one head, and one iconic item (usually based on animated appearances). It's totally subjective in terms of desired display choices in these cases, but if Ultimates could lessen the accessories and come down a bit in price, I'd be more willing to complete each wave/ series.
I’ll say it’s not the articulation but the quality. Unpainted faces, waxy plastic and nothing looks close to their renders. If you buy any other figure from other companies you see just how bad Super 7 can be. A lot of them can’t hold their weapons or accessories etc. too. I had lots but sold them all after it just kept getting worse.
@@jamievaughn1485 Yeah, I definitely know the hand holding issue (my Bombshell won't hold his weapon to save his life...). I'm actually ok with the renders not looking like the final product though. Personally, I just always expect them to look like the products I already have, and the waxiness adds to the animation quality for me as I'm not a fan of hyper-realistic toys (I'm just looking for props from pop culture to stick on a shelf and not move), but it's subjective I know. It's just unfortunate because I feel like Super7 is contending to be an "Indy Hasbro" but the product is too divisive to be that.
hahaha are you serious about TF ultimates? they are crap, like cheap statues with 5 points of articulation and guess what!!! All the TF Adult collectors love and enjoy to transform their TF.

Honestly, I feel bad about power rangers. The prevalence of the lightning collection and the remastered mmpr figures must have impacted sales badly. I’ve got to admit, I have green and yellow rangers and after a few months with them I went back and bought the remastered figures in full and I’m happy. I do love the zords though. Tyrannosaurus and Dragonzord are key elements of my display as will be the megazord. I honestly think ultimates would be better off scaling down the waves, do some lovely chunky megazords and maybe some classic big bad’s. I think the nostalgia for king Sphinx or pudgy pig is past. As lightning collection rolls into hiatus there’s always hope things may change
Just cancelled all My preorders from bbts. Unless they improve on the quality of the figures… especially the waxiness and paint apps of the head sculpts.. I’m pretty much done with Super7. The disappointment I get upon each release is just not worth the amount charged…
Super7 does great when it comes to playsets and vehicles but the Ultimates figures suffer from inadequate articulation, subpar plastics and unpainted faces on some figures. The $55 price point also is too expensive for what you ultimately get. Hopefully improvements are in the works.
For someone who is a fan of a lot of properties that S7 does, my real trepedation about buying their figures is that they're so much money, and the quality isn't always great. Also the rather outdated articulation scheme, because every other company that does these types of figures are much more articulated, and a lot of them are much cheaper to buy. Look at Marvel Legends and the current "He-Man" figures.
I don't know why. Power Rangers has a pssionate fan base from what I understand but mostly back in the glory OG days of Mighty Moprhin Power Rangers seasons. But then even the MMPR stuff don't sell. Not just Super7, Hasbro themselves are having trouble. I see a lot of the Power Rangers stuff don't move on shelves. The crossover toys don't do well either.

Collectors think the line is dead or at the very least struggling and there was very little reassurance here other than there’s more to come. There hasn’t been an announcement or update in ages and the waves are decreasing in size and are having repaints. I was hoping this interview would get him to explain what is happening but it didn’t.
When it comes to Brian's concern with Power Rangers Ultimates, they are competing with Hasbro's Lighting collection. They might give more accessories than Hasbro, but it's basically the same figure, just an inch taller but double the price. Again, you are paying mainly for packaging and an extra inch of size but the quality is not as good. I just don't trust Super 7 anymore with the price they are charging.

If people wanted nostalgia aesthetic, they have the RE:Action figures. The "MOTU Classic" scheme of articulation is out of date and unneeded.
