    Another unknown feature of the Telluride key fob is that they are waterproof! Mine went through a full wash cycle in my jeans pocket as well as a dry cycle. To my surprise, it still worked flawlessly!

      Agree with you there. Someone else mentioned the smart liftgate opened up in their garage and caused a bit of chaos. Even when I review cars that have it, I'll rarely use it. Usually just go for a fob unlock or tailgate button

    Hi @carsWithSteve New Telluride owner. Question... Park my car, open the door, want to use the old-fashioned button on the inside of the door to LOCK my car, so when I get out I can just close the door with my hip (because maybe my hands are full or whatever). The LOCk button doesn't work. I'm told that is a "feature" by my dealer to prevent locking a key in the car. My 2015 I traded, with almost no tech, would just unlock the door when it shut b/c it senses the key was in the car. So, Is that true that you can't use the lock button on the inside of the door when you get out? I feel like the feature line was B.S. Also, can I auto-lock my doors when I'm inside and the car is running to prevent someone from jumping in at a red-light etc... thanks.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  13 дней назад

      Hey! I wasn't aware that the lock button wouldn't work from that way, it's one thing I had never tried. I'll add that to the list to check out next time I'm in a Telluride to see if it's the case or if there's a workaround. You can use the little button by the driver door handle on the outside to lock or unlock the doors though!
      You can also set to auto lock in a few circumstances. Under Settings --> Vehicle Settings --> Door you can set when you want the doors to auto lock or unlock. I cover that in this video on the infotainment system --> ruclips.net/video/7p4Fj9VlWDc/видео.html

  • @smallwoodmatt
    @smallwoodmatt Год назад +2

    Can’t do the hold lock to roll the windows up because of US safety regulations. European cars have had the remote down for years, and they have remote up everyone else in the world. Reason being is the US thinks a child or someone could get injured with the remote up as the pressure sensors are disabled during remote up so they won’t stop if resistance is felt too early.

      Some trims with the Smart Liftgate in the 2023 model will have auto close - it's technically when the smart key isn't nearby but I didn't check to see if that was also when you went to hop into the drivers seat

    Steve, my android auto is not working in my 2021 telluride. First we thought it was my phone, so I bought a new one. Worked for about 6 months, and stopped. It does not let me know that I'm getting a text, and it will not read text out loud. This is very frustrating as I use texting for business in my car. Can you please help me.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  11 месяцев назад

      Is Android Auto not connecting at all in your Telluride now or is it connecting just not playing text notifications?
      You can try a few of these:
      1. Soft reset - use a paperclip or pen tip to press and hold the little button just to the right of the volume rocker. 5 - 7 second hold will turn the screen off and then back on again
      2. Remove the phone connection from the vehicle and the vehicle connection from the phone, then reconnect
      3. Replace the USB cable with a new OEM original. So if you have a Samsung, replace with a Samsung USB cable

    Quick question. I have a 2022 Telluride SX. We are putting it on an Autotrain from VA to FLA this week. The train recommends that we disable the car alarm, otherwise bumps along the way will trigger the car alarm, which will run for 17 hours before the train stops and run the battery down. Is there a way to manually disable the car alarm and still lock the doors? Thanks for any help. I will subscribe to your channel. Great content

      It has 3 modes:
      Off
      Normal sensitivity
      High sensitivity
      To set the mode:
      User Settings > Driver Assistance > DAW > [select mode]

      Select "User Settings Mode" and then "Driver Assistance".
      "take a break" message appears if the detected attention level is below 1. It does not appear if total driving time is less than 10 min.
      It resets (timer set to 00:00 & attention level = 5) when:
      engine is turned off
      driver unfastens seat belt and then opens the driver's door
      driver takes a break that lasts more than 10min
      It remains disabled if:
