- We descend down an internal shaft 600 feet below the surface. This is the tenth chapter in a huge mine complex we are exploring in a mine we call the Mega Monster mine!
This is the most exciting Mine Exploration Channel on the net. We have been in hundreds of abandoned mines in Canada, United States and Mexico, going places no other You Tuber would dare to go. A fast paced no bs exciting channel that will not bore you...A New video is produced every Friday, check us out. • Newest To Oldest Videos
We do this for two main reasons:
1) Documenting the mines for future generations.
2) Collecting artifacts for our museum.
Mines are being filled in, demolished, and/or collapsing at an alarming rate, so it is crucial to document them and save these artifacts while it is still possible.
This is all about mining and mining exploration. Join us for our weekly adventures as we go deep underground into historic abandoned hard rock Gold, Silver and Copper mines. We relive the Prospecting, Gold Rush days, going back in history with every expedition. Visiting abandoned and forgotten places, climbing down mine shafts into dangerous mines, finding treasures, seeing antique heavy equipment such as ore carts, crushers, milling machines, ball mills, explosives and other mining equipment.
This isn't like Minecraft or Ghost Town Living but if you want to visit some real historic Abandoned Mines...
Come visit our Exploring Abandoned Mines Museum in Grand Forks, B.C. Canada. The museum is open to the public, free of charge, donations gratefully accepted. We have a huge assortment of mining artifacts accumulated from abandoned mines, donations, and other collections. We also have operating mining equipment on display.
Museum is located at 5615 Kenmore Rd Grand Forks BC Canada V0H-1H4. Best to phone first 250-444-0183. Come for a visit! www.google.com...

Less Gubment, the better
"Sharon's not coming down... for obvious reason's, she's not crazy" made me laugh out loud!
Sharon, you're an absolute champion.
I can't believe how immense this mine is! It just gore on and on forever and I can't imagine the work that went into creating it. Thanks Frank and Sharon.
Hello Sharon hello Frank
It is absolute amazing what you both do there
Thank you for taking us with you so we can see this great stuff
Take care stay healthy
All the best wishes
Yours Frank Galetzka
Thank you Sharon & Frank for taking us along for the awesome video be safe and All your videos are GREAT
Thanks so much
I could hear the sense of relief in your voice when you made it back to your pack and gear. Is an unnerving feeling when you find yourself turned around.
Buy yourself a bucket of colored chalk sticks, the thick kind kids can color footpaths with, and give your self a second option for getting your bearings.
That's my 2 cent suggestion. Cheap and effective. Great show again Frank and Sharon, such an interesting place to explore.
I could feel my heart rate going up when you started getting lost lol. That's gotta be a scary feeling in such a huge mine.
Tell me about it
Yup my anxiety went ⬆️
I just can't get enough of EAM's! Another amazing episode. You two are incredible. Thank you for once again putting me on the edge of my seat!! Mad love!!
Our pleasure!
Oh no😲 @9:19...who dat? The yellow bearded mine monster..LOL 🍻& Rock On!
Most people take their girlfriend out into a romantic night camping in the woods. A bottle of wine, a nice warm sleeping bag. But you aren't most people. You take Sharon 700ft down a wet mine for an overnighter. LOL Fantastic series. Everything is rotten and wet down there but I cant take my eyes off the screen to see what's coming next and there's still 600 ft to go. Replace that rope too. Absolutely awesome.
Well said!
Great video friends Frank nearly getting lost please keep the great videos coming and please stay safe friends from Scotland
Hi Frank and Sharon,
Really appreciate the effort you both put into this, you kept me on the edge of my seat for this one.
Please keep safe as I want to see you in many more videos to come.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love you and Sharon 💖
The suspense of when u get turned around had me at the edge of my seat. Great explore guys.
Thanks, Frank and Sharon for another epic adventure. Frank, for a while there toward the end, there were times I felt like I had a perfect sense of the direction you should go, then a few seconds later I was totally confused. I'm glad I wasn't down there with you. God Bless and stay safe.
Our pleasure!
Thanks for the adventures. For God's sake use more ribbon when you are alone and in areas with so many tunnels! Scared me to death - but I knew you had to make it back because we're seeing this video. Sharon is a nice addition to your program and for your safety and comfort. It will be interesting if/when you spend the night in this mine. You'll need to rig up some ghost or other scary happenings! Be safe!
Your a gluten for punishment Sharon.. good on ya for sticking with it. It’s nice to see a lady that’s not afraid too get a little dirty. I’m sure Frank appreciate ‘s your help and input. 👍
Keep the Mega Monster Mine Videos coming. Hope you do stay over night that would be a Fantastic Video to see.
Thank you for putting it all on the line for our entertainment Frank. These old mines are places that would never again be seen by human eyes if not for you.
It's good to get Sharon's view on the exploring. Oh dear Frank, that's a proper soaking you got and then all that mud gave you a new look. It's like the journey to the center of the earth, down, down and down. You two work together brilliantly. I'm glad you eventually got your bearings Frank. I wouldn't have a clue, it was very confusing to me. 😕 Thank you, stay safe ❤️
👍 ❤️ 👍
Thanks 👍
Frank that was awesome and you kept your cool as always
10 Chapters and it looks like you've just scratched the surface. What a cool mine. Thanks Frank & Sharon.
Glad you enjoyed it
You need arrows he hehe 😜 Sharon tell he needs new rope or no soap huh!!!; ) he was Styling the look!!!; )
It's a good thing you brought all that ribbon with you and put lots of it down..... oh shit.... oh shit.... oh shit.
Frank went in that mine with grey hair, and came out a ginger.
Pretty crazy how far this thing goes. Right on you 2👍🍻
Tell me about it
You two are amazing love y’all’s sense of humor! Awesome lights too! Can actually see all the beautiful colors from blue to red to green and crystals sparkling everywhere! I’m totally fascinated with mines and I totally subscribed! Y’all be safe down there everywhere you explore! ☮️
Our pleasure!
Do I see gold nugets on that wall ....😁👌👍
Excellent episode !!!!!!Look for old Levis Jeans .....
Maybe!
@@exploringabandonedmines 😁🤣
Excellent entertainment you two. Thank you wow!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good thing about having a camera with you is you can always review the footage to see which routes you have taken! Don't get lost out there Frank! You make the best mine exploring vidyas
If you follow the right hand rule you general don't have an issue unless the mine is very complicated like this one. In that case it is best to bring paint or flagging tape.
Sharon your my hero cause nope no Ty noway I could follow Frank like you do Lol stay safe you guys when I seen that bad spot in the rope my heart was in my throat
What a treat to watch someone get lost and have a good outcome. Her voice over that radio was a welcome calm no doubt.
Man you had my hart pumping... I sure as heck wouldn't be down there so thanks for doing for us.
Our pleasure!
Franky and Sharron love you guys. I'm noticing all them channels that are copying you guys. They don't even compare to you. Thanks guys see you next week
Wow, thank you
Awesome adventure Frank , looks like the package got wet thou 😁.
Pete Australia
Thanks Frank and Sharon. What a massive operation it was.
Awesome video again. You are one crazy ass and Sharon ain't far behind that, Many thanks for your channel. Great stuff.
I'm not ready to see your last video yet. Keep them coming and stay alive, I liked the scuba reel idea.
More to come!
YOU GIVE ME PANIC ATACKS!!! Lost underground! Lol
good job frank i think i would start using spray paint at intersections thumbs up
Frank, you got BIG balls!
This inclined shaft is so huge, that's impressive.
awesome episode what a monster mine... almost lost.. a sickening feeling.. i am sure....
Truely amazing efforts by all of you, love watching what you guys do
Wow , you're amazing ! After four or five turns , i'd be LOST !When you threw that rock down that shaft at 27:13 , it kept going and going , I almost had a panic attack ! You're one brave man , or you're NUTS !
If you get lost in a mine, you will spend the rest of your mine exploring career in one mine!😳😱 You could carry a carpenter's crayon on a lanyard to mark arrows on the wall.
Awesome mine, bring paint next time maybe. Cheers✌❤
fantastic episode , love this Chanel I get to explore places I cant get to through your work ,
Awesome, thank you!
Ooh...u were nearly up "Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t!" Creek w/nothing but rusted thru, disintegrating paddles, timber & shovels Frank! Yr also beginning to get that nice Anyox tan only those baptized in the burnt-sienna mixed-mine bottoms of British Columbia acquire. Step lightly, MudBeard & Cinderella!
Can't hurry these things Frank! When you rush things go pear shaped.
I was so lost. This series will set the standard for mine exploration for a very long time. Intense is the only word I can think of.
Thanks for a good show.
Our pleasure!
At 31:16, “I Knew I Should've Taken That Left Turn At Albuquerque!”
More fearless badassery from the E.A.M. team. If you get lost down there and never find your way out, can I have your headlamp? Lol. Cheers!
You guys are so cool.
As long as you both get out safely that’s all we want👍👍👏👏
The 3M mine,I like it!
Been a while since I have seen your vids, I let them build up and watch them in like two days, this is awesome man! I would love to come with
Was anyone else talking to their TV trying to help Frank get out! Great explore you too, that new headlamp worked really well. Stay safe, A+C.
Hey there guys, Great trip here. Love all the extensiveness and the levels. Let's not get lost down there now.
Hi guys that is one behemoth of a mine and great explore you have there, you seemed a little annoyed when you thought you were lost Frank, how about using a spray paint can or chalk for arrow markers on the walls. chalk may be better, easier to carry and cheaper.
Have you considered take a dive reel they use for SCUBA diving down there. I think they come in about 1km lengths, not sure how easy they are to use. But it would make getting out of the "spaghetti" mines easier lol
I think that's a great idea. The only way to be really sure about the way out is a continuous thing to follow back.
You gave this mine a very descriptive and accurate name! Hope you can tell us the name of this mine sometime. Thanks to you and Sharon for sharing this, and for all your hard and dangerous work!
Oh, btw, if you ever get to the Central City, CO, area: A mining corporation called GS Mining (YT channel) is rehabbing and mining the old Hunter-Bates and Becker-Bates mines there, and are starting bulk testing of ore and milling (they have bought and are rehabbing two mills up there, too!). Would make a fine episode or two, and they have a bunch of short videos out on what they're doing and their progress. Just a thought.
Thanks again!
I have never been able to document an operating mine. They are all camera shy!
Exploring Abandoned Mines Not these guys! They have short videos on several members of their crew, their jobs and responsibilities, the progress on the rehabs (like putting in a new hoist, drilling at the 150' level, etc), lots of things, but hardly any views or comments. Who knows, they might welcome you and your channel just for the publicity! 🤔
You spoiled with #245, that so awesome to see a mine that looked like they left yesterday. So, you get a shower going out. Sorry Frank, women are like that, if your dirty, no touchy touchy. You guys are so funny together. Frank, you sure go deep into this mine, something tells me there will be further episodes. Not problem, i don't think Sharon will be upset if you were late by 5 minutes, so how late were you.
THANKS WISH I WAS RITE THERE WITH YOU 👍 EVERYTHING TIME I WATCH 😵🙋 THANKS I CANT SAY ENOUGH 🙏 ✌🍻
Glad you enjoyed it
Just effen amazing! And once again, I am glad I am watching this from the comfort of a nice warm and dry room. Awesome content, guys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interresting! Thank you for bringing us along 👍
I love her voice. 🤣🤣. Sounds just like a lil girl.
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
Thanks for the tour. Wet mine goes with a wet rainy morning. Finally got some rain
Hello there!
Sharon seemed very happy lol, at 26:53 that sounded VERY DEEP.
Hey Frank, once it a while post a link to the equipment you use so we can check them out. Another great video.
Great video! Love your channel! Watching from Florida!
Thanks for watching
Great explore, that spaghetti mine keeps getting bigger, you guys are very brave explorers.
Thanks for watching!
your wifes vois is so cute and funny,, when you drop down the chafts
You be safe!!! Not ready for a tribute video...lol.
Holy crap this mine I'm starting to think don't have a end and yes I can't wait to see more videos of it just be more careful and replace that one rope just to be on the safe side
Honestly, think you should use a can of yellow spray to dot your way. Ribbon seems to confusing. You actually got me scared for your safety even though I know your an old hand at doing this. 👍🏻🇦🇺😁
Franks a gentleman👍
@Exploring Abandoned Mines Can you please do the Union Mine in Cerro Gordo, near death valley California some day, collaborate with Ghost town living....
I could feel the panic start creeping up my spine when you started getting turned around
Try tying a knot in one end of the ribbon to indicate which direction you came from, I've done this while caving. Wish Canada would let me in, I'd be down there with you!
Being lost and disorientated which would you pick 🤔 ?? Exploring at it's BEST I would pick disorientated things change on returning direction . Lost well that's when you don't have any idea where the H LL your at .🤗 Cjd was state .
That ore pass at 26.50 had no bottom 😅 just when i thought Frank's balls couldn't get any bigger he dangles over a near bottomless hole with a frayed rope and says that's ok right? Awesome mine Frank and Sharon stay safe be lucky 😉
Got a bit turned around there Frank..good you left those bread crumbs to follow ..
Next time!
Great explore Frank & Sharon, I can see our easy it would be to get turned around in a mine the size of this monster eh? Like a pilot in a white out! Stay safe guys and take care, all the best from Tassy. Australia.
Another great vid, hard to believe they mined that deep back then. Those guys had a full set. Stay safe both.
Yes they do
hi Frank a bit scary there when you got lost , the spray paint is a bit safer then ribbon I think
Do your sound effects help? hahahaha Sharon got you good with that one Frank. Really interesting mine, enjoying this series.
Glad you like them!
thats a huge mine man. just amazing. This stuff still scares the daylights out of me but.. its so cool !
Maybe worth having a couple small bottles of fluorescein dye with you and spray a patch on the corner of the direction you come from and another patch on the corner of which way you went so there's no getting confused and mixed up which is so bloody simple because everything looks the same. fluorescein is available in multiple different colours and it's very powerful stuff and it can't be missed either and it's even better with a small black light it basically becomes a neon sign just a couple ml of this stuff will turn a 20l bucket of water in to a big bright beacon essentially.
Sounds complicated!
Glad you found your way out, you must of said shit 10 times or more lol
looking forward to next weeks episode :)
LOT BETTER THAN ASS CAR TAKE A RITE 😂 STAY SAFE BROTHER AND SISTER LOVE WHAT YOU ALL DO 🙏STAY ON THE TRACKS OR PATH 👍
Damn you pretty much need to have a base camp down in that mine to cover it all
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
ill tell you this you are both are really brave i know if it was me id be found dead cause id get so mixed up they would never find me and you do it as if its a walk in the park you both are cool
Geez, that rock you threw down, coulda timed it with a calendar.
I was worried for you s I could hear the panic starting to creep into your voice. Then again you posted your video so I know you got out safe. 👍
Sorry!
@@exploringabandonedmines Absolutely no reason to be sorry, I have been there myself. Stuff happens even to experienced people. My grandfather told a story of him and friends out hunting (early 1900s) and one of their group got lost, a man with 36+ years of hunting some even solo. They could hear him screaming and yelling half the night. My only suggestion is more pink ribbon before leaving a drift and immediately after leaving a drift - pink ribbon is cheap. Stay safe.
Oh man I could not even imagine how creepy and spooky it would be to spend the night in an abandoned mine with that much darkness and that much silence. Wow! No thanks!
That was bloody scary, lost in a mine, I don’t know how Sharon feels waiting for you to reappear I was feeling uncomfortable just watching, great episode Frank stay safe guys
