I hate how this game's spotlight got completely stolen by Smash.
This pretty important too, it's a return to form and not the car.

I hope this game gets tons of free DLC for more characters, boards, minigames, modes, items, etc. This can be a game that lasts the Switch's entire lifespan.
If they put maps from other Mario Parties as DLC, I'll be in heaven!
They'd have to implement the hotel mechanic, but it'd still be fun ^^ Personally, I'd prefer a MP2 map (mainly cause of nostalgia), but MP8 had some good ones too (the King Boo map was really fun!)

MP8 was my childhood. Big boos haunt, koopa's tycoon, the train board, all would be awesome as DLC. Maybe have DLC for every old mario party, with minigames and maps from each game.
MP2 was my childhood, but I played lots of 8 too and loved it! I don't remember a lot of the Gamecube ones, but I remember having lots of fun with them too. DS was nice too. I should try 1 and 3 someday, since I never actually played them...
I'm reeeally liking this risk reward system with the different dice blocks. _Finally_ they're expanding upon the core mechanics.
DogTime Mario Party Star Rush was their test run for a lot of the new mechanics this game has such as: unique character dice blocks, team players (extra dice and extra characters for minigames), independent moving in a grid for 2 v 2 mode.
That idea is from Star Rush tho, it's not "finally" they just brought it back :P
It also gets you thinking exactly which character you want to pick

The boards remind me of Mario Party 4, which is definitely a good sign (and the older MP games in general). They have items, a cool dice mechanic, buyable stars, fun mini games, and no car! Mario games are doing great on the Switch! Now the RPGs just have figure out what to do... I’m looking at you Paper Mario....

So there's a return of Smash, Mario party, and Mario tennis this year. Last year we saw a return of a well made nintendo console, Zelda, and 3D Mario. Everything released has been amazing and everything coming out looks like it will be amazing. I am loving this return of Nintendo!
Now, I am begging you Nintendo, please give us a really good Paper Mario game. If you did that, I could die a happy man.

Thank GOD they finally listened to the fans! I've been craving classic Mario Party! And the Switch is absolutely PERFECT for the mini games!
Other than the map being really small this looks great, hoping other maps are bigger with more vertical design like the many beautiful boards of the past. In fact it would be soooo awesome if they brought back many of the old boards to this game just like the new smash is brining back so many old stages.
Well this is a demo, so that is most likely the case
That was my first thought was "wow, this map looks pretty small?"
However, it would also encourage a more wild playstyle with lots of stars being acquired quickly!

it looks small but remember, the dice block is now only 1-6 so you aren't going to be moving very far so the smaller map I feel is more justified, but it could stand to be a bit bigger but only by like an extra 10 spaces or so otherwise it would just take forever to get anywhere.
I'm glad they bring back the things that Mario Party was back in the N64 (Mario Party) to the Wii (Mario Party 8) era.

FINALLY A GOOD MARIO PARTY
I don’t know if it's just because the board has a rock theme, but I think it's boring how all of the tiles are placed in blocks. For example, in Mario Party DS most of the tiles were integrated into the elements of the board (leaves, pots, etc.) and personally, I think that makes the experience much more interesting. However, I don’t know if it’s just the design of this board or if it will be the same for all of the other boards. Still, everything else in the game looks great.

I wonder if they plan on releasing an ability to build your own board in the future. Would explain why it's all tiles, for consistency.
I think the blocks will be for the Star Rush mode since you can also play the way Star Rush did.

I love the idea of playing as Bowser, but I will definitely miss Bowser spaces. He was always so intimidating, especially in the N64.

Fans got tired of the same old formula, so Nintendo gave us Mario Party 9 which people reacted negatively. I personally am happy that the old grab coins and buy stars formual is returning, however, I loved the new car mechanic.
This is the game you play when you had a long day at work. And you don't wanna sweat and will put a smile on your face for the 20 min you play it.

This Mario Party is finally returning to it's roots. In 1999 and the 2000's, Mario Party's board games were so much fun. I hated the idea of a car running with four players in the 2010's versions, except for this one!

Differences bewteen the demo and the final game.
-Characters don't get items at the start in the final game.
-If the character is talking, there name it's on the circle. This does not happen in the demo.
-The announcer dosen't says "Yeah!" in the demo.
-The "Buddy Phone" was renamed "Ally Phone" in the final game.
-The "Don't Buy" option was changed to "Pass" in the final game.

Oh my gosh! The boards are back, and being in control of where you go rather than lumped with everyone. :D They even are using the motion controls. This looks like the best Mario Party in recent years.

So glad for this style of MP again, though it does worry me that this map is kind of small by MP status, that and the normal dice block only goes to 6 instead of ten, but their only minor worries.
Wouldn't the dice block only going up to 6 make more sense given the smaller boards? If you could roll up to 10, I feel like you'd be moving too quickly across the board. In other words, I think the dice were scaled back to compliment the smaller board sizes. Definitely agree that the boards seem a bit small though.
I actually feel like the only reason they changed the dice to be going up to 6 was to be "more realistic". If a dice block looks like it has 6 sides, it has 6 sides.
I know this is a stupid explanation, but I still feel like this is what they went with when designing Mario Party 9.
And I have one argument for this: there's a certain event on the first MP9 board where you get to throw a dice that goes up to 10, and they actually made a completly new model for that dice, so that it looks like a d10 dice instead of a d6 dice.
So yeah. I feel like they just don't want dice blocks to act inconsistant from how they look anymore.
wariolandgoldpiramid I can agree with that, but I still think the boards for this game were designed with that realistic 1-6 dice block in mind, meaning that changing back to 1-10 for this game given how far it is in development wouldn't make sense.

I do not like how each character has their own block. Now instead of people choosing the character they like, everyone will play as whoever has the best block, and it'll just become Mario Kart WII, where everyone plays as Funky Kong on the flame runner.

Okay, the dice block aspect looks really nice.

Ya I don't like that. There used to be times when you could get to the star but you lost too much or didn't get enough coins and you missed out on it. But now you're basically guaranteed as long as you get there.
Huh, so it was only recently in the series they changed that.
I hope you can change the difficulty of the boards and stars so family’s can play for fun and the classic style for veterans
actually in Goomba's Booty Boardwalk the star is free, but it's a long travel which is why you spend coins on the dolphins
but yeah I don't like stars being that cheap

I really like this game concept, but I also got some stuff I can suggest.
-The price for the Stars should stay at 20 (or even be changeable as an extra setting!). 10 just feels too cheap for me, and the oldschool prize fits better.
-If possible, allies should be shown during event cutscenes like the part where Mario runs away from a boulder. Yoshi just stopped being there all of a sudden for a bit (as with everything else) when the player landed on that ! space.
-I want very big maps. Like, “probably more than a Mario Party 8 map” big, maybe.

The dice block concept is cool, but it should really be optional... I would really enjoy the option of having a separate game mode for normal dice blocks

It probably is optional. I imagine there will be a "classic" mode that will remove the new dice block and companion mechanics.
Maybe not but with all the games that they've made for the switch they seem to be trying to make sure to make the fans happy e.g. Smash having every character, Odyssey being more like 64, Tennis aces having a simple rules mode etc.
I mean, it's not like you have to use them. If you don't like them then just make it a rule for yourself and the people you play with that character rolls are off limits. Only real issue would be playing against AI in that case.

NathanGuiaYT Ok, I need to correct myself. Mostly 2018 Games. But Reggie recently said that they have still much information to give to us, which sets the chances of a direct with new reveals high. I personally think that the E3 is not a big thing Nintendo and they like it more to reveal games throughout the entire year.
