We do a Christmas Eve box, but the majority of stuff in it comes out every year - it has their stockings and stocking hooks, the plate they leave out for Father Christmas. I put PJs in there, not Christmas specific though - just so they don’t wear scruffy ones to bed so they look respectable in all the photos we send to Granny the next morning 😂 Then they have a couple of consumables - so a Christmas bath bomb and a hot chocolate bomb. No clutter 👍 x
We don't do a Christmas Eve box or December. We have Christmassy pyjamas, watch a movie with some snacks, leave out Father Christmas' treat and then we all read 'Twas the night before Christmas together'.
We are conditioned to spend big at Christmas! Consumers go over board. I gave my tree to my daughter last year, she didn’t have one. My grandsons’ loved it!! I don’t have room for a tree anymore. I bought 2 $3 strands of lighted garland to make a tree on my wall. I’m broke and cannot afford big presents. I really want time with my family. I don’t get see them enough. Merry Christmas!
I will be putting up the same tree I've had for several years and originally got from a charity shop - it's lovely. I will be getting a star for the top, and new baubles this year though as last year it only had lights and tinsel😅
We’ve had a gift budget of around £25 per person for several years now, it saves a lot of stress and worry about the cost of Christmas. This year I have bought 2 boxes of beautiful Christmas cards for family members instead of personalised ones, and I generally cater for everyone but we share the cost between us and we don’t buy more than we actually need. I’ve just set up a budgeting binder for the coming year and I’m excited to see how it goes.

See that sounds sustainable - you’re using and reusing but still little embellishments making it manageable I think 🥰

That’s a great idea for setting a budget ahead of time 😍
Keeping things simple here for Christmas too 🇨🇦 I can’t keep up with everything I’m supposed to be buying and crafting and decorating 🤪
It’s a crazy time, right? 😂
No one tells you what you are supposed to be buying...... do as much or as little you want Kim.
People say all year round how skint they are and yet Christmas time they still go mad around the shops🙄
@@irenemorley75 exactly this! ⬆️
I'm over £1000 just on presents. That's not including my other half.
We decided a few years ago to stop getting gifts for one another.
Oh wow! What a budget! 😊
@TheBudgetMumUK I start in May.😁
@ now there’s a good plan! 🥰
