I don't have the JBL 310, but I have the JBL 710 and a Sony XP700. One interesting thing about the JBL 710 (which I realize is more expensive and bigger, etc.) is that when playing back videos I have shot, when there is wind noise, the JBL 710 seems to minimize the wind noise some, while the Sony XP700 does not. I wonder how the JBL 310 would do with wind noise, compared to the Sony XP700.
JBL maintains the bass. But at 40 and 80% based on this review, the Sony bass sounds heavier. At 100% they both sounded very similar to me. Almost identical. I didn't really hear a difference at 100%. All through different volumes, JBL bass sounded the same to me. Sony got higher pitched at 100 vs when it was at 40 and 80%.
The JBL needs more treble and mid range. But I like the punch it has. I ordered the Sony because the JBL is not available. I can always return it if i'm not happy with it and order the JBL when it is back in stock. Hopefully the Sony will satisfy my needs. Update: Got my Sony SRS-XP700 about two hours ago. I am impressed! The bass is really good and can be adjusted to be punchy. I found that it sounds better if I turn off the Mega Bass off and boost the bass and the treble in the Sony Music Center app. And if I use my Mac computer to play my music it has a good built in EQ to fine tune everything. I live in a studio apartment so it goes way louder than I could ever use without getting evicted 🤣. The clarity is awesome as well. I'm keeping it!
The 310 is better at lower frequencies, but I like the xp700 better for higher frequencies. For me anyway, turning off mega bass makes it sound too weak.
Which performs better while unplugged? While watching the video on android and ios phones is there any latency in the sound produced by both speakers? I heard JBL has about a full one-second latency which will affect while viewing video on phone.
Horizontal stability is definitely a thing. I have a 100, and the first time I drove with it I took a turn and I heard my new toy just FLY around the back of my Honda Pilot. Not a good feeling.
Not at all. I'm pretty particular about keeping my stuff in great condition and to have a partybox flopping around in the back of my SUV wouldn't be acceptable.

LOL you can see the bass on the party box at 100% ... Sigh the party box is sold out and I'm thinking the sony might work as a stereo pair for an outdoor movie theater .. but I worry about that lack of bass
A while back JBL added a 3 band EQ to the Partybox app, so that makes a very noticeable improvement in the upper range when you adjust it. The 310 is a terrific speaker.
I own alof of 3 jbl speakers likr the xtreme and the charge series i love those and tbh as a dutch person the sony doesn't sound bad but the jbl just got more of a oemfff in the bass

Yeah, you could actually make an argument that the XP700 has a more balanced sound. The Partybox 310 now has the 3 band EQ in the app, so you can bump up the highs, which does noticeably help with upper range clarity and detail. Makes the 310 a really hard speaker to beat.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews Yeah my 310 just came in today. I am blown away by the sound. Amazing speaker without a doubt. I am done buying speakers. I am more than content. I have my stormbox blast and the 310. All set.

This was shot before the 310 had the EQ update to their app,. When you adjust the treble up on the 310 via that app EQ it sounds pretty nice. Hope this helps. 😮

Is there a 50 percent loss in volume when it is used without plugging into the wall socket?
@@Jz-fj5ki not that drastic. The XP500 from Sony has a more noticeable drop in output when played off battery.

Bothose a little unugged, so basically the same as when plugged in, just a slight performance loss.
I want the 310 but it’s still sold out. I got the 100 does the XP700 have more wattage
I still prefer two pb 100's over the 300. The 310 wasn't much better...or do you have those speakers to compare
310 is a most valuable bro!🔥

Can you use the eq on the Sony and boost the bass to compensate for the bass loss at higher volume?
The Sony app only let's you use the 3 band EQ with mega bass off. I just use a 3rd party EQ to adjust to my liking with mega bass on.

Jbl good clearly sound clear bass
Is the 310 on bass boost?
Bass one mode, yes. 7:05
Can you daisy chain them and play as one?
You can with the JBL, but not the Sony.
The sony is better for rock music and jbl is good for deep sub bass but lack of treble
Good comment
