    It's interesting hearing him say that's the first time he's really felt true fear in a long time, bc living alone and going around a big city on public transportation as a visibly queer afab person I'd say maybe a few times a month I feel real feae like in my body. But I'm completely privileged compared to a lot of people - non-white, in less queer friendly people, younger, etc. etc. It's just making me think about that more idk.

      I think some of that fear is going to be anxiety tbh. There's also this phenomenon of fear mongering for women in cities tbh. True crime docs tend to reinforce this bias. I'm not saying not to be wary or on alert or that women are never targeted bc that's absolutely not the case, but I think we're made to feel like we should be more afraid than we need to be. I am also a visibly queer woman and I take public transportation and have been walking by myself in the city for years.
