I take off a star when I rate a product and they've used styrofoam for packing material and note that is why they lost a star. Companies won't change unless they pay a penalty for not changing, and a hit to their product ratings is a great way to motivate them.
This stuff is an absolute plague. I hate it with a passion. Creates a huge mess for consumers, ends up in landfills and in the ocean and water supplies, lasts way too long and is costly to dispose of properly. I’m looking forward to better alternatives taking _root_ soon, like mycelium packaging (basically mushroom packaging).
Cardboard recycling can reuse it 5-7 times. Any type of packaging that can be made out of styrofoam can also be made out of cardboard. Cardboard also ha a higher recycle dollar value.
But we're not looking at is the joy styrofoam provides to some people you could get a lot from the tactile sensation The sounds it makes and how it feels on your skin in all the joy it gives you

the only solution to the problem is stop making the stuff. Use environmentally friendly alternatives.

"cost effective" is the shittiest excuse for landfill. it should cost companies a lot of money to create waste
I have to clean this stuff up at work, it's a nightmare...
If only styrofoam WASN'T a thing. We wouldn't be here at ALL, having to make videos about, and i say this with quotes, "getting rid of it"
Great idea!
Any non polar acid can break down Styrofoam
Most non polar acids can be poured on skin with no ill effect
Do you know of Styrofoam collection place in CA? I just found your video. This has been a concern of nine for a long time. Thank you!
Welp... no help there
Acetone would break this shit down easy
Cost too much money on a large scale, would be much much cheaper to buy new polystyrene.
It also makes great glue ànd slime
I have watched many videos that dissolve in acetone, !!!!!!
meal worms eat styrofoam
until they poop it out the other end moron
