Not Miyazaki, but someone who’s been on the team since ds1, worked as a combat designer on Bloodborne, and was one of the top guys working on Elden ring. Reminder that fromsoftware is not a one man show, Miyazaki has an entire team hes been working with for years and he’s stated his confidence in them many times over
It's giving me MGSurvive vibes (even though I 100% believe it's gonna be a good game) the way it's a spinoff that quickly is announced after the main game.

It couldn't be any more of a different situation to MGSurvive. Not to mention Miyazaki and the other teams at fromsoft are working on their own projects while this one is just a little side thing from a new team.
Miyazagoat allowed their combat director to direct this whole game because he's working on something else, probably bigger. I dont get why people are so pissy about this lol. FromSoft are a different breed
It's more like a standalone game taking place in the same setting. Scholar was more a "definitive edition" to Dark Souls II, but Nightreign is entirely its own thing taking place in the Lands Between.
I imagine this will be something like God of War Ragnarok's Valhalla DLC, but this will be a standalone game and won't be free. Miyazaki said that he liked seamless coop mods and would like to make coop seamless in his future games, so I suppose they want their developers to get some experience for designing stuff for both solo and coop play. This is also an opportunity to try some wacky ideas that they wouldn't try otherwise. If they don't overshoot the price then I think this will recieved well. Depending on how much content there is, I would imagine the price will be around 30€. It's a shame that the story won't be canon, but that just cements the fact that they want to let the devs do whatever they want to hold us over until the next big thing is done.
I like both dist as a streamer and runner, but his chat seems insufferable. Why all the negativity? They’re getting a new game from the best game studio working today, and they’re dragging them for it? God forbid From does anything new or different. If they don’t like the came, just don’t play it???

It’s a rogue like extraction shooter with up to 3 other players. It will have a haze that shrinks the arena in 30 min burst rounds. Think boss rush but Fortnite. It will have an offline mode. It’s not disappointing, but it is a pointer in where Sony wants to take Fromsoft, but hopefully not. But yeah that’s pretty much what it is. It’s an Elden ring spin off.

Look at it this way. Devs adding seemless co-op officially it seems at least. Ontop of the new systems will provide some AMAZING bones for modders to work off of
