      @@slindsley1951 Steve, I built a jig, and produced an 8 sided “trial” and it wasn’t too awful for a first blush. The biggest issue is the “twist” which you mentioned. I’m pretty sure this is due to blade alignment with the fence. From my understanding, the blade in vertical position can be slightly out of alignment with the fence, but this will be exacerbated when the blade is tilted…that’s about the only way I can figure the “twist” in the glue up.

I put a link below. Robust and Oneway also make large cone centers but they may not fit on other live centers. Also, there are videos on RUclips on how to turn your own. Hope that helps. Steve

    Hi Steve,
    All I can say is that if I lived next door you'd have to put up an electric fence and lay a mine field to keep me out!!!
    I can't tell you how much you have inspired this 75 year old guy!
    Thanks for this and all your videos!

      John - If you lived next door you'd always be welcome in my shop for a cup of coffee and good conversation! I picked up my rubber bands at Office Depot but I'm sure they would have them at any office supply store like Staples. Take care, Steve

      @@slindsley1951 I have enjoyed your videos and am trying to start segmented Turning. Having problems getting seams on #2 ring to line up with center of segments on the first ring. Can you help with this problem?

    • @slindsley1951
      @slindsley1951  3 года назад

      @@johncox9971 John - Do you have the same number of segments in each ring? If yes, then you should be able to get the joints on ring #2 close to the center of the segments on ring #1. It doesn't have to be exact, just close. Once the piece is finished no one will notice if one ring is a scootch off from the one above or below it. Hope that helps. Take care, Steve

    The 21.69 blade angle is devided by two is that correct.....? So the bade is set at 10.855?

    • @slindsley1951

      No the blade angle was 21.69 (or as close as I could get it). It's not divided in by 2 when cutting staves. Thanks for watching. Take care. Steve
