This is a great way of referencing multiple sheets in a formula but you need to remember to ungroup the sheets immediately after completing the formula so as not to duplicate everything you do later onto multiple sheets at once. A lesson I learnt the hard way :(

YES. My worksheets were grouped and I didn’t understand why it wasn’t working until I ungrouped them.
