Love the content of your channel! Glad to see you guys up in our area! It's a great area to ride and explore. I live just minutes from Santa Margarita and ride the OHV area at Pozo frequently. Believe it or not, I caught a Social Distortion show there at the Pozo Saloon back a few years ago with my wife and daughter.
I am 97 years old. Have cataracts in both eyes. They say I am legally blind, but have you ever heard of anyone being illegally blind. I ordered one of those Honda Gold Wings after watching video and realizing I am not too old to start riding.
I was born and raised in Lompoc so, I rode everywhere you guys were. We would park at Osso Flacco and ride all day in the deep bowls and dunes towards Vandenberg then head down the beach to Pismo for a burger and a soda, then back to the dunes to mess around until i couldn't hold on to the bars anymore. Load up and head home for steaks. That usually happened about every other Saturday or Sunday for most of my pre teen years.
Great video, I like the idea of short trips on dual sports exploring back roads on and off pavement. I went for a solo overnight ride on my dual sport a couple a months ago, Ojai 33 through Carrizo Plain, to Parkfield, then to Big Sur Coast, I also enjoy Sierra Madre. I love gas station coffee.
Great stuff as always, Mark. And you're a truly enlightened older guy when you start trying to preserve the lives of all the critters. I've heard the dedicated riding area at Pismo is a shadow of its former glory, thanks to the conservation lobby groups. Shame. On a positive note, looking forward to your thoughts on the Africa Twin.
That's funny I've had bee stings wearing my leathers. I solved this problem by storing my leathers in the house and not in the garage where bees can get in. And your buddy on the KTM 790 Adventure rally is a very rare bike.
Jalama Rd (Lompoc/Santa Barbara) all the way to the campgrounds is a must see! 12 miles of rolling hills, canyons, peaks, valleys and farms all the way from highway 1 to the beach. You can stop in at the Jalama beach cafe for a world famous #jalamaburger 😋👍
You know Johnny if it weren’t for mr.covid we would be finishing our SURF FISH RIDE video series in Baja. Let me know when you get your bike we will bring you along. 🤙🏻
Lived in this area my entire life so this was fun to watch. Purchased an xr400 in the beginning of the year for my first dual sport. Last week I pulled the trigger on an 02 xr650r for the longer dual sport rides and it's retarded fun lol. Im gonna have to stop watching your videos because now im thinking those adv bikes look fun haha.
Yo!! This looks awesome. I’m in. Bakersfield and would love to ride this once my broken hand heals! Any chance you have a track saved of the route? @bermcannon

Gas station coffee ☕️ is for real men😎
Oh, I miss California. I regret that I didn't ride a motorcycle when I lived in Northridge. I wish I could ride in such nice places.

Hit up fire freddy on Instagram
So what happened with Freddy on the highway picking up his bike? We only got a glimpse
A baptism.... it happens with every new bike
You're never too old to start riding.. just too old to be hitting the ground. 😶
Is there a way for you to share a map of your route?
Music at 9:05 is spot on brother.
Is that a KTM 500? How long was the road trip?
