no, you're wrong about half of this, the father is probably the president of the country and the deal he made is him thinking that his own "formula" to control people isn't that bad, that's why he drank it and the other person didn't, no one offers you a breifcase of money to drink some "clean" water, doesn't drink it himself and then leaves, literally nobody, also the images showing the water being poisoned with blood just show how much water is being contaminated. RS_ Agile that’s symbolism for our society today and how our society will be in the near future if we don’t stop fucking idling around while our planet dies, poor populations get worked to death, pollution is killing species all over the world, supposedly “democratic” governments being puppets of powerful billionaires and corporations and banks, our oceans being contaminated by big oil companies and just companies getting rid of toxic waste, global warming which endangers our whole ozone layer, the elite are literally shiting on our planet, our future and us.
I’ve seen plenty of different lores, but here’s my own! First the water used to be normal, however to make a perfect life the sent some awful substance into the water that made people go crazy, after a while people forgot what water used to be, becoming almost robots. However this company comes in and tries to fix the water, however in the pursuit of greed they only make it kill you instead of making you crazy. They try to start marketing the new water hence the ad in the beginning. However the CEO aka the father knows the water is poisonous and that’s why the sinks are locked up in his house. The reason he doesn’t just take out the plumbing is he want’s his company to be put in a good life. So he can just take off the chains when guests or paparazzi come by. Life seems good until the CEO is forced to drink the water by some skeptics, at first he want’s to back out, knowing the water is awful, however he mustn’t cause suspicion so he end’s up doing it. The water end’s up killing him. I took a lot of inspiration rom other theories, however I think this one talks more about the crazy person and their role in the story, or at least an explanation. Also it’s like 3am, so yeah don’t be the grammar police. :)
that's not a theory lol that's just saying what's happening in the video, I'm pretty sure its actually just about rich people shitting on the world for their benefit and it eventually coming back to bite them
I like the theory but the one thing that doesn’t fit well is the fact that the ceo doesn’t immediately panic after getting out of the room with the money and is almost surprised when he starts to die, I would think he assumes the water wasn’t poisoned and was cleaned by his company or was at least an attempt by the company to make clean water.
I seen grandson live in Michigan on October 15 and he is absolutely amazing too see live not only that but I actually got too meet him in person after the show and he’s an extremely friendly guy makes me love his music even more

This song have message "Every time the government take loan remember that loan will be paid by our children" We make the life of children more difficult.
I love how a majority of these comments is just people trying to look emo lmao. Anyways I do really like the concept of this MV. The general idea of a world where people cannot drink, cannot interact with water, it's overwhelming and when one finally has access to that water it proposes the general truth and horrors they've been locked away from. Some people just cannot handle the horrors well, take the kid as an example, and some people *are* the problem, but those problems are a full circle as they loop right back to then, take the dad as another example. Really like the idea of this MV overall.
Maybe you should see the symbolism in the video. We are living through the beginning of the end of this industrial age before we enter the golden age again that ancient civilizations lived in where they utilized energy from the earth instead of killing themselves and the planet with oil and sugar and many other poisons. The powers that be when they came upon this tech decades ago decided to weaponize it and compartmentalize it, not release it to the public and tell the truth that we have been working with extra terrestrials for decades now. Research William Cooper, and the Ex Prime Defense Minister of Canada. Good luck

@Fiona Salamanca Sales The thingy I was mentioning was the Flint Michigan water crisis that happened a while back. People's water was discolored because it had lead in it, which was done by the city for more $ (The citizens didn't know)
This is what I understood by connecting the lyrics with the video This comment is about 1200 words long. I'm sorry. I can't put a TL;DR because the music video is the TL;DR. //Analysis Start// The dad is a corrupt politician or president promoting some type of medication, because while he was on live television with an American flag behind him at the beginning of the song we can see a logo similar to that of the pharmacy at the bottom of the television screen. There is also several flashes of light on the tv screen which I assume are camera's going off because of a press conference maybe where he introduces these "drugs". We can see he's corrupt because he looked real dang suspicious when he took the bag full of money from the other man. Classic villain act. Not to mention his sipping water after whatever exchange was made kinda gives me the feel that he's taking in, this "bad and metaphorically dirty water." Which I will explain why I think it's a metaphor and bad in a bit. In the lyrics, it says "Beg me for mercy Admit you were toxic You poisoned me just for Another dollar in your pocket" I feel like this whole section sets the fact that the father/high profile person is abusing the system to make money. I think water is a metaphor. Right before we see the dad receiving money from another man many images of water are shown, like rivers and running water. Which could be a "money laundering" hint. Because the dad makes dirty money and what people do with dirty money is "laundering", so those locks around the sinks are just the father trying to keep his home away from the water he launders his dirty money with. Proof that nothing is wrong with the water is the fact that the father drank a cup after the money exchange. Now you could argue something is wrong with this cup but If the water was the direct problem he would not have taken a drink. And by my understanding in this metaphor his drinking of the water was basically him choosing to, yet again, make the same mistakes and hurt the people for his own illegal and dirty profits. In another section, the song says "the price of your greed is your son and your daughter", this section points out the fact that his greed for money could cause him a big loss like his offspring(son in this scenario), who are usually extremely valuable to the parents and though we don't have enough context, it could be assumed all he is doing for them and their future after all. "What you gonna do when there's blood in the water", here the father is being told that there will be blood in the dirty water he created with the illegally obtained money he metaphorically used the same water to launder. This section is also a threat from the people that he will pay, because eventually there will be blood too in the water he uses to launder money. And the sections with the red aesthetic and logo similar to a pharmacy, starting at 1:25, in the video could be an indication that the money is obtained by creating drugs and hurting the people by dispersing them for profit. Because we can see several hints of what you could see in a lab like scientists(?), telescopes, beakers full of liquids and people drinking water or screaming. The red aesthetic clips make us feel disoriented and confused, much like drugs would. If it is, in fact, drugs then this section in the song would make total sense, "We'll never get free Lamb to the slaughter" the people are being treated like livestock and provided harmful pills as long as they increase profit. Lamb are sent to be slaughtered and sold as meat for money. So in this case as long as the father makes profit they will always be sent to their demise to wring out the little bit of cash they have for the large corporations and rich people behind those corporations. And towards the end in the song they say, "When the last tree's(chains they had around sinks in the house?) fallen, the animal can't hide. Money won't solve it what's your alibi?", here the people stood up against him and he couldn't hide anymore, even he realized the money won't solve the problem he got into. Which is why when he dropped the suitcase and the money he left them and stumbled to his car sitting in it with a menacing look. The chains he used to keep his son away from the dirty waters made by his way of living took away the most precious thing for him by the uprising his negligence of the common people caused, and he was lost. I think the reason he sat in the car looking crazy was either because A) this is after some time after he lost his son he ended up taking the pills he gave to the people to cope and so they showed us how he paid not only with his son but also his sanity and stability, or B) he simply got caught and lost his son in the crossfire where he realized the money can't save him so he just sat and wondered what could have. Adding this section to talk about the last scene of the father going mad some more. This time I think there could be another reason as to why he behaved the way he did after that last scene. I think that what happened was that he drank water to seal the deal, yet again choosing to poison the people but this time his own water was tainted with the same water he committed bad deeds. He stumbled and left the money because the water finally got to him and he was afraid and attempted to get away. His greed disappeared and was replaced by his fear for himself. But by the time he got to his car he was an ironic example of when in the beginning of the video it said "Put A Smile on That Face". Because the phrase was sold by him. It was relating drinking the water(drug) to putting a smile on the face. And he had finally drank that water he sold. The smile was involuntary. It's actually kinda dope. Seeing someone fall from grace and that moment of realization. I think the overall song is about this horrible person who was made to pay for his crimes. In the end the people are victorious. //Analysis End// -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To address the crowd: Thank you for the kind compliments and likes. I wrote this to explore my understanding and help explain the video [in relation] to the song. Yes, I go outside. Don't be upset over how I choose to use my time. This didn't take as long to write as you may think, and I did it because I enjoy this song. Yes, your English teachers would love me. Also during the initial posting of this comment some other commenters made very good points in the replies! Thanks for your time. @@arnavtandon2814 no I think Lexi Maree just wanted to say that, since the politicians in the video were corrupt, it wouldn't be strange if the police is corrupt too. I don't think she wanted to say anything against the real police.
Am I seriously the only one who thought this song was about corrupt/greedy politicians causing wars that end up sending their sons & daughters to fight in them??? I didn’t actually think it was a literal interpretation of blood/poison/pharmaceuticals in the water...
The first time I heard this song was within minutes of hearing a news report in my town about a man who was sitting down at the Kankakee river with his young son and daughter. The man had "nodded out" from one opioid or another and when he came to his son and daughter were gone. They were drown in the river. His own blood in the water. His son and his daughter. His greed and the greed of the drug companies that have caused this opioid epidemic. So tragically accurate.
You are not the only one... Very dark and demonic. Any drugs in the water were put there purposefully. It's what they do. Drug, rape, and kill... And just look at all the insidious comments as they joke about it. #GodWins

Okay so, "blood in the water" refers to tainting the giver of life, a similar phrase to "poison the well". He also says "the price of your greed is your son and your daughter" and something about being poisoned for an extra dollar in your pocket. I have to assume this is a song about Climate Change, how greed is one of the biggest factors in global warming, and how the people who actively cause this are endangering the future generation (son and daughter) and why his son ends up dying in the video.
I can actually take this a step further too. Sharks are known to detect blood in the water, and they are typically the apex predators of the water. This could be referencing the way in which capitalism and big corporations prey on the everyman, and even the way in which the working class is bled dry of all of their resources just to survive the next week, going pay cheque to pay cheque.
@@frost9681 Yes, it definetely has some parallels with what you're talking about, however this song is about a scandal in a town in Michigan where people's water had lead in it causing many people to get poisoned and eventually die.

Good teority
Hmmmm, this theory is really worth living :)
that's not a theory lol that's just saying what's happening in the video, I'm pretty sure its actually just about rich people shitting on the world for their benefit and it eventually coming back to bite them
I like the theory but the one thing that doesn’t fit well is the fact that the ceo doesn’t immediately panic after getting out of the room with the money and is almost surprised when he starts to die, I would think he assumes the water wasn’t poisoned and was cleaned by his company or was at least an attempt by the company to make clean water.
Sounds like poisoned water in michigan

Don’t be fooled guys, this isn’t just a random scenario. This is what the song is about and what’s going on actively right now. Not water poisoning, obviously, but corruption from up above, this is the end that capitalism always reaches and it’s time to TEAR IT DOWN.
Lmao 😂😂every single country in the world engages in capitalism in one way or another so is your idea to tear the world down? Maybe get people to start playing nice, sharing resources and innovations, get rid of the need for money all for the betterment of humanity? Good luck with that, that hasn’t happened in 2.5 million years and there doesn’t seem to be any inclination that it will. I am all up for anarchy and a purge like situation though if that’s the route. 😂😂
@@davidgessin-mccully3919 You sir are merely a pessimist. It is human nature to work together. I never said it would be easy, but it is absolutely possible to get the majority of humanity to start working together if we’re organized. However, that is only all the more reason to start striving for a better tomorrow.
@@InkSans_FandomSoda
You are very correct in I’m a pessimist. You’re also very correct in it would be a huge undertaking and time consuming but you’re wrong on human nature to help our fellow man. That might have been true on a tribal/village like situation but it was still only for kin and other members not for the others that looked different or believed different that they warred with, killed and appropriated the land, people, wealth, whatever the case may be. Humans have always been selfish, temperamental, extremely prone to violence, animals. It’s not pessimism it’s fact. We are just a higher order primate with thumbs and a chin. I can show more examples of the horrors man has inflicted on their fellow man than happy happy joy joy moments. It’s been 2.5 million years to get to this point of not caring what’s it gonna take to hit caring?

The general idea of a world where people cannot drink, cannot interact with water, it's overwhelming and when one finally has access to that water it proposes the general truth and horrors they've been locked away from. Some people just cannot handle the horrors well, take the kid as an example, and some people *are* the problem, but those problems are a full circle as they loop right back to then, take the dad as another example.

Anybody else wondering why an older song is on trending? (I have no problem, this song rocks)
boltoms oh hey boltoms, didnt know i would see u there
Maybe you should see the symbolism in the video. Good luck
boltoms in this video they use water as an example of how the media and standard that's expected of americans is to do as your told because it's normal. When fucking chlorine and fluoride are put in the water on purpose to cause thyroid/immune system problems, and many other incidents have happened with lead.
Larry Garcia it's on trending because the band made the video for it to get people talking about the problems I just stated, that the elites make money off of the general population's death and suffering.
@boltoms I believe it's because they're listed as an Artist on the Rise. So it's not that their song is trending, but that RUclips has chosen to highlight this song from them.
This is the first time I've found an artist before they got signed. Kinda proud of myself😂😅 I love this video.

//Analysis Start//
The dad is a corrupt politician or president promoting some type of medication, because while he was on live television with an American flag behind him at the beginning of the song we can see a logo similar to that of the pharmacy at the bottom of the television screen.
In the lyrics, it says
"Beg me for mercy
Admit you were toxic
You poisoned me just for
Another dollar in your pocket"
I feel like this whole section sets the fact that the father/high profile person is abusing the system to make money. In another section, the song says
"the price of your greed is your son and your daughter",
this section points out the fact that his greed for money could cause him a big loss like his offspring(son in this scenario), who are usually extremely valuable to the parents and though we don't have enough context, it could be assumed all he is doing for them and their future after all.
"What you gonna do when there's blood in the water",
here the father is being told that there will be blood in the dirty water he created with the illegally obtained money he metaphorically used the same water to launder. If it is, in fact, drugs then this section in the song would make total sense,
"We'll never get free
Lamb to the slaughter"
the people are being treated like livestock and provided harmful pills as long as they increase profit. Lamb are sent to be slaughtered and sold as meat for money. So in this case as long as the father makes profit they will always be sent to their demise to wring out the little bit of cash they have for the large corporations and rich people behind those corporations. And towards the end in the song they say,
"When the last tree's(chains they had around sinks in the house?) fallen, the animal can't hide. Money won't solve it what's your alibi?",
here the people stood up against him and he couldn't hide anymore, even he realized the money won't solve the problem he got into.

His greed and the greed of the drug companies that have caused this opioid epidemic. So tragically accurate.

The mayor knew what was going in and it was all done for extra profits. Quite a sad story. The music video basically illustrates the whole thing.
You get bullied in school 🤣
@@theofficialjoebiden7368 no, no I don't
@Frost I thought this was about the flint Michigan thing when the water was filled with lead and it turned the water red.
Reminds me if the governments failure in Flint, Michigan
I was thinking that also.
Ooh damn
This would be a perfect soundtrack to a documentary on the subject
I think it might be partly about that
Moira Davis the government, the economic and social systems are failing and we need to act fast to bring a quick change before the Earth dies
