@@nickcaveofficial066Hello Nick. My name is Dirk and I live in Germany. I heard your music for the first time when I was 15. It was the album "The Good Son". My neighbor and friend said to me: you absolutely have to listen to Nick Cave. My neighbor was a year younger than me at the time. I say was because he died in an accident at the age of 21. I have been listening to your wonderful music since my early youth. I am 51 at the moment. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart that your music has given me courage and strength over the years, sometimes through very difficult times. I wish you a healthy and successful life from the bottom of my heart. And one more thing: your music has never gone out of fashion. Best wishes... Dirk.🙏🔥
Nick Cave is still up there with Tom Waits & Leonard Cohen - this song epitomises his brilliant vocals, his incredible song writing ability (be it on his own or in partnership), and the haunting score. Magical
Add John Cale, Mark Lanergan, Blixa Bargeld, Thurston Moore, and many obscure European singers. The latter of whom will never make an appearance in the 'Anglo-Phile' world of 'rock popularity'.
HA! you just listed my top favorite artists! Lol there are a couple others I I also put up top, but those 3 artist are all in a category of their own In my head, its awesome to see its not just me that others hold them together in their mind too
Ник Кейв, вы потрясающий.. в вас пародоксально сочетаются безграничная мужественная харизма и первозданная трепетная человеческая нежность и чуткость.. как такое может быть? Слушаю вас снова и снова..❤
God .. this song is above all expectations ! I am a big fan of Tom Waits and The Doors but Nick is another one who blow my mind . Great artis , cheers from Romania !
I’m here cuz I head David Gilmour say in an interview that this was one of his favorite albums through and through. That’s freakin awesome 👏🏼. I’m not disappointed! Wonderful sound.
I used to listen to a lot of Nick Cave when I was very young. I guess I am one of those in that generation. I still love this even though I haven't heard it in years. It means so much more now that I am older.......
Thank you so much @ Chantelle, You seem to be a huge fan, I’ll like to know how you feel about my music and the band. Send me a mail to my gmail address which is the same with my handle (username) above. My full handle name and number forms my gmail address, let me know if you figure it out.
Quelle stérilité. Profitez de la beauté des notes, écoutez ces propos qui vont au-delà de cheque l'industrie du disque nous distille aujourd'hui comme duale indigeste.
This song is incredibly beautiful. The video transcribes perfectly the emotional feelings and the desperate atmosphere, though it is very simple. It is a MASTERPIECE. Thank you to Nick Cave.
those words/lyrics are the reason, why I wanted to learn English ... for me the best reason I have ever had :) my English is no way near perfect, but I understand now and it makes me sooo happy
I wish I had a great reason to learn English. But I'm a 100% sure The Bad Seeds are a good start. ENGLISH is 7th for me but the intricate words and NC's methodology of inverting sentences to create an unique meaning is amazing.
I was listening to this last night as I was driving on a very dark highway in Mississippi in the middle of a rainy night. I was so focused on the song that I didn't see a curve coming up and lost control of my car. It spun several times and I ended up on the side of the hwy. Got stuck the middle of the mud for a while. All the spinning and then my car gliding through the grass and then the mud while listening to this was kind of a beautiful moment haha I'm lucky nothing happened to me or my car.
David Jashi I wouldn't "try this again" since I never actually tried to make it happen in the first place. The fact that it was not planned is exactly what made it special. This awesome tune playing in the background made it perfect. It was indeed what could be described as romantic. One of those things that a description such as the one above will do no justice. It was a unique rush of adrenaline and emotions that most people nowadays do not get from their daily life. I felt like I needed a towel so dry the juices my brain must have squirted throughout this. Please, try it!
Are you kiddin' me? I flew from Miami Beach, FL to SFO just to see the Nick man and his Bad-ass Seeds... That was a peak experience. The sound was superb and unmatched. The man is pure and absolute Rock 'n Roll!!
Simply adore this one. I have been coming back to this song since several years now to be comforted and soothed. If anyone could recommend some more similarly calming I would be really grateful. 🍃
I know Nick Cave for a long time and have seen him live twice. Mostly because my girlfriend liked him...:) For some reason, this song blew me away. So sweet skindeep and so mean and vengeful inside... I love it!
Very mellow video. When it comes to the use of nature and the outdoors to get a point across(both lyrically and visually) no one can beat Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
The music video is completely symbolic of the song itself. It is far from traditional, but there lies depth in the repetition of the shadow itself. It often fades in and out of it's backdrop, blending with the night sky, making us question if this subject has any natural authenticity or if it indeed is just a biproduct of the world around it. Such visualization makes us question if the subject can ever be representational of itself. Loved the song just as much as the video.
Not only is Nick Cave my favorite musician this video is directed by Gaspar Noe who is one of my favorite directors. He directed I Stand Alone, Irreversible and Climate to name a few! Too cool that he is working with Nick!
I'd actually say that Nick has never really lost his edge. He has gone through a couple VERY brief moments of slumping, but for the most part has delivered knockout after knockout. Whether it's the tender heartache of "No More Shall We Part", the big band gravitas of "Abattoir Blues", or the hardcore Grinderman; he's just... cool.
Trees on the shores of salmon runs contain fish DNA..... nature is pretty amazing how it can take care of its self... man is just the care taker and needs to respect it. Peace & Love to you all.
Can't wait for this album. There are only two artists that I buy a new album without bothering listening to it as I know I will always love it and Nick Cave is my no 1 pick. Such an inspiration.
Impatient, reactionary, creative source of emotional subject, conscious or unconscious, strong, relatively unstable, violent with strong color and clear valuation, suitable quality and determine the meaning, they get the momentum in grated form - emotions. Crack in musical form, with thanks to Nick :)
what can i say, been a fan for the past 16 years and i have never grown out of his music. Brilliant back then and now... just spellbinding. Truly a treat to listen as always.
Honestly, this album deserves to be in the top five, when the greatest albums lists are listed. It's flawless, just brilliant from start to finish. It bumps Revolver, or Exile, or any Bob Dylan, what have you.
Grinderman was very good as a live band, I can't say i liked all of Grinderman's songs on the albums, but they all were brilliant performed live. As for the bad seeds, what Cave does is much more diverse and can bring you anywhere. And having been to 3 Bad Seeds and one Grinderman Gig, i have to say the last Bad Seeds performance 2008 was one of the best concerts i've ever been too. Closely followed by the Grinderman Gig. Anyhow, i'm more than happy he's back on Bad Seeds duty...
I get lost with this song, among the trees suggesting shadows. They don't care who I am, they don't care what I bring. I go down with the dew in the darkness.
made me weep, at the very first listen, brought me back to all these places I thought I had forgotten in myself. fantastic. just when you think he can't possibly do it all again, can't re-invent himself, he does, better than ever. a true master - thank you Nick!
Oh, God,he just make the world a million times better by being in it. xx

Song gets in alive as I wrote. Things just found moment somehow
Cave & Gaspar. Best collaboration in a long while.

Typically awesome Nick Cave! He doesn't need to reinvent himself or his music, he just does it better each time.
This guy helped me beat my 30 years drug addiction
I really want to hug Nick Cave.
I can’t believe that this was directed by Gasper Noé. This must be by far the most restrained thing that he’s ever put on film!

Love this song....his poetry is heartbreaking

Einfach herrlich dieser Song, auch ich liebe ihn.

I have good news. That band you like is going to come back into style.
Wow. Haha such a great reference. Thumbs up
Everything this man does is frikkin' BRILLIANT!!!

Pure Poet of our time!!!
This song is incredibly beautiful. The video transcribes perfectly the emotional feelings and the desperate atmosphere, though it is very simple. It is a MASTERPIECE. Thank you to Nick Cave.
The video is one of the best examples of genius simplicity; such an amazing compliment to this song.
Joseph Smecker Gaspar Noé !!!

Nick Cave and Gaspar Noe. This one killed!
Nick Cave is an aquired taste for perrrrfection..... no regrets here ... love it
It's good to see Mr. Cave (and the Bad Seeds) in excellent form.
This song is so beautiful it hurts.

Iva Rezabkova - if ever there was a good reason to learn English, Nick Cave’s lyrics are it (but now try checking out "Babe I’m On Fire”!)

Nick Cave is a Godly Genius!!
God,I love Nick Cave more and more. Thank you Nick Cave!
A very bright light behind a person, some contrast adjustment, inspiration. It's beautiful.
My God. Mr Nick Cave, just when I think you can't get any better, you prove me wrong. You are a fucking genius, man
