For reversals there is also new very important change, that these moves can't parry airborne attacks. So hopkicks, orbitals and other similar moves are great now if you can predict or react to reversal, or just doing a vibe check after getting plus frames
One extra thing that I haven't seen a lot of people touch on, but is going to be huge with the heat system, is that hitting someone with a heat engager makes you recover a TON of recoverable HP. Like ~40 HP worth, unless they changed it since the CBT. So if you're playing against a character that's good at chipping you down, like Hwoarang, it may be worth saving your heat until the middle of the round so you can maximize how much HP you regain when you enter it.
Nice video man. It's very well made, and the ending sequence showing all of it together was a nice touch. It feels like it was made for a school project in a class you really like
Wow Power Crush has come a long way since its beginnings in Tekken Revolution (Invincible Moves). I never really fully embraced Power Crush in T7--but becoming safe/gaining pushback on absorption is a very impactful change. It's very nuanced and might really change the way we approach neutral in Tekken 8.
As a Chloe main who had to rely on imposing mental frame advantage through pressure and fear, sparing use of power crush when your opponent is focused on trying to anticipate mid/lows is a delight :3
Did you know? Apparently marduk has a move in tekken 4 with armor, but attacks interrupted it but didnt stop it, so you can crouch jab him to deathand he cant block
Bruh im finna walk out right mofo now lol😂 grab me some food in the way home and an energy drink and im finna go ham 😂 my ass might not make it into to work tomorrow 🤣
Been waiting for a video like this. I'm glad they changed rage art to being generic. It was such a pain in the ass to remember which character was what.
Great guide. This was compact and very informative. I'm not excited to see chicken go after using it for years, but I will give the game a chance before drawing my conclusion.
Simple and to-the-point. Well done. With all of the clickbait and fluff on RUclips it's refreshing to watch something like this. (Throws being a hard counter to reversals is a very DOA decision.)
You forgot to mention if you have a lot of recoverable hp you can fully heal all of it instantly if you hit your opponent with a heat engager. Unless that was changed but it worked like that in the Demo.
And I thought I was actually improving but Bamco just made iWR moves easier. You didn't have to do me that dirty mens. But great guide, explains a lot of new stuff - especially if you only really played T7 like I did.
I like the flexibility over Rage Drive, but I hope Namco tweaks it a little over the course of the game's life because right now it might be a little *too* strong.
I absolutely love you that regular throws are unbreakable on counter!! Those beautiful animations don't go to waste. Most throws are 12 frames fast and some of the throw breaks give advantage even if broken like position changes and frame advantage. IDK for sure but can you use a throw as a 12 frame punish?
WHAaaaaa??? Generic throws now track? :O Honestly i think thats an bigger buff to the throws then having CH throws.....Iove it ^^ And as someone who loved to throw out parrys and had decent-ish throw breaks...I think not being able to chicken but throws are unbreakable makes the parrys worst...My personal experience is that chickening happened to me super rarely and if it did then it was an hassle for the person needing to chicken it...But less rare was when my parry was met by an throw and then i just broke the throw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Tyler2k yeah definitely isn’t a make or break kind of thing. Regardless, amazing video man very informative and great quality. Lookin forward to future content 👍
Tekken 8 is suffering a key / button binding instability issue where the bindings are randomly changed after a few matches or character alterations, this need to be fixed
You can Heat Burst into Heat Dash, but you have limited options and typically can only get one hit afterwards. If you're in Heat and combo, then pop Heat Dash, you get a full extension instead.
Not just Asuka, but everyone's reversals. Asuka got some extra juice with her RA! because she can actually hold it, similar to how she holds her reversals. This mechanic makes her's safe on block, assuming it's charged.
A counterhit (CH) is an attack/throw that interrupts the opponent's own attack before it fully activates. For instance, a jab is fast but a launcher is slow, so if you both attack at the same time, the jab will interrupt the launcher and grant CH.
This video should be in the Tekken 8 options menu.
For reversals there is also new very important change, that these moves can't parry airborne attacks. So hopkicks, orbitals and other similar moves are great now if you can predict or react to reversal, or just doing a vibe check after getting plus frames
Thanks
Thank you!
Fml I use to reverse city all day in previous tekkens. I wonder if marduks reversal will adhere to this 😢
So kings hopknee isn't exclusive now

Yep, forgot to include it. It was recorded, but I probably forgot why it was there and just assumed it was more HE footage.
Great guide for beginners! Thank you for making this. 😍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video tyler. Simple and straight to the point 👍🏻

Haha, that's fair
You always put in an intense amount of work into your content, glad to see this video doing well!
I appreciate that!
Best Tekken 8 introduction I have seen so far. Well produced and awesome work. Thank you for making this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ohhhhhh that's what's throwing me off: ch grabs being harder to break. Gotta remember that

that last summary was very succinct and hits on all the new system and points. excellent video bro.
Thank you, appreciate it
This is the guide we were all waiting for. Thank you !
The demo at the end was the cherry on top!
Nice info man.
You come in with the BEST guides. So much questions answered in one video.
Thank you so much for this video, Tyler. Truly doing god's work here
SUPER helpful video. Thank you for making this. Also, man a lot of these changes are so good. Can’t wait for tonight!!!
VERY comprehensive video and easy to understand! You're awesome Sir! Subed! 🙌
Awesome, thank you!
A minute in, I'm already learning (about heat duration differences). Thank you!!!! Subbed :D
Been waiting for a video like this. I'm glad they changed rage art to being generic. It was such a pain in the ass to remember which character was what.
Good work my dude! This should update all of our guys and girls that did not play the early versions of T8.
I’ve avoided the demo and all other forms of the game until now. Can’t wait for go live!
@@murphyebass7837 Well done so far, but do be careful now! Some clowns started uploading character endings and story mode spoilers.

Really great video dude. Just subbed !
Awesome video! Super helpful for somebody that didn’t study before the test lol love you!

I was thinking about mentioning DOA and the triangle system. Probably should have.
very bold title, but you delivered :) thanks!
Awesome video brother. Can’t wait!
Great guide man, thanks!
incredibly informative video
I appreciate this so much! Thank you! 🙏
thanks for this, very helpful as someone who always takesa while to make use of all new systems in FGs.
Heat dash looks really sick
Excellent video, a great resource and reminder.
I especially like the new ground hit system changes, I was not aware of that.
Am gonna play just like i play in tekken 7 at first and then adjust with time.
You'll immediately notice a difference due to how Heat works. Knowing when to use it is extremely important. Don't just throw that shit out there.
No you’ll notice that your combos won’t hit and heat will make it different
same.I hate practice modewith a passion, player match is my practice mode 😂
@@omaisgee123 i spent all my time in t7 without touching the training mode 😂.
@@darkphanthom8741best and most fun way to play Tekken imo. Just go in and learn as you go.
Great list of changes thank you for compiling
Great video, thanks for breaking down the parry, magic 4 and power crush changes.
A really very informative video my dude thanks a lot
Very informative!
Its a great video Tyler, You explained very well
Awesome video! Please keep with the good work, this is incredibly valuable for new and veteran players.
So is punishing with throws still a thing? I remember hearing something about that during the first network test.
I'm wondering myself but swear I saw it in the demo. Awesome that regular throws are getting these buffs.
Nicely done!
tyler you really the goat man love your vids cant wait to see what other educational content you release
An excellent video! I hope the Bandai Namco paste this to their site!
Superb guide, thank you!
Great great work sir 🤞🏿🤞🏿
Nice video Tyler, is it true that elbow and knee attacks are no longer unreversable? What about headbutt or shoulder attacks?
I'd have to test, but I still think they beat
Really nice explanation!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Good vid tyler!
Thanks, dude
Reallt great video man
Great, short and very informative.
How did they manage to make Pauls hair even more weird?
nice vid. it’s worth defining “steel pedal” for noobs tho too
Good point
Thanks mate
Have a great day
Power crushes being safe if you're hit during startup is kinda big. Don't think anyone has covered that. Great video!
It's also good to note that if your character has a parry you can still parry if you recover in time
You forgot to mention if you have a lot of recoverable hp you can fully heal all of it instantly if you hit your opponent with a heat engager. Unless that was changed but it worked like that in the Demo.

Haha, I thought the same thing when I played CNT on pad, "Man, I'm super good at iWR+2 and I never even play on pad!"
God this video is perfect thanks alot
Good explanation and very clear to me ❤ with your help I learned a lot in tekken 8 ❤ God bless you sir ❤ Shiva Shiva 🙏
Tyler2k Blog Nice video man, Do you like the heat system more than Tek 7 drive mechanics?

Exactly what I need!

Amazing
"rage arts are safe on block"
*Laughs in Jet Upper
One more universal change is that snake edges tornado spin on hit so they don’t give as much of a reward as they do in previous games
True, that would've been a "nice to know" to add.
@@Tyler2k yeah definitely isn’t a make or break kind of thing. Regardless, amazing video man very informative and great quality. Lookin forward to future content 👍

You forgot to mention that they removed the generic run tackle in T8.
I already miss T7. 😢
It's still there, you just need a far running distance.
I've been playing Tekken since T1 arcade and still only know how to spam death fist. 2024 my year for sure!
Hell yeah, did you see the damage from my example? Absolutely bonkers.
@@Tyler2k I’ve been having fun spamming that in the demo for sure.

At 8:36 he shows Raven what do I mean what problems Raven have with rage art?
shout out Tyler, gdlk vid
The ending was so abrupt haha. I expected and final thoughts segment or something lol.
Changes? Oh not much, it just went from being a Tekken game to Marvel vs Capcom.
Basically, lol

is there a change for button smashers?
🔥🔥🔥
I do heat burst into heat dash all the time in one combo.. did they patch that?

Nice
Tomorrow is the day 💪.
I did notice that the learning curve was not as high in this game.
Definitely, the system was simplified to make it more accessible.
Wait does that mean chickening Asuka reversal no longer possible?
Not just Asuka, but everyone's reversals. Asuka got some extra juice with her RA! because she can actually hold it, similar to how she holds her reversals. This mechanic makes her's safe on block, assuming it's charged.
@@Tyler2k thx for the info. So now, to counter Asuka reversal is just play it safe and punish it with throw then?
Bubble bass looking players be like: "My BS one touch of death combos are gone." Some changes are for good, others not so much.
Is there any benefit to cancelling heat burst?
The only benefit I've found is that you can make it "safer", but at the same time most of them have so much range, it's honestly hard to whiff.
They should call it a Tail Flip instead of Tornado Spin.
I thought jins ch4 was +13 i remember getting df1,4 from it in the demo but maybe the bot just wasnt blocking lol
It was, and it still might be, but there have also been some changes since the Demo.
Yes, I had a section detailing something similar, but I streamlined it to favor HE over normal W!
whats the background song
It started with Oritz Farm (Pt. 1 and 2) and then ended with Yakusima (Pt. 1 and 2), IIRC. The last 15 seconds were Stratosphere's.
fuck it imma just mash some buttons
Can someone explain counterhits please?
A counterhit (CH) is an attack/throw that interrupts the opponent's own attack before it fully activates. For instance, a jab is fast but a launcher is slow, so if you both attack at the same time, the jab will interrupt the launcher and grant CH.
Its true Raven cant launch after RA but he can kill just by df 443
Yes and no. Yes, d/f+4,4,3 is i15, no because with Recoverable Gauge, they might have too much HP to kill.
Wakeup 3 and 4 being safe on block makes zero sense to me
hmm hmm, I see, I don't get it at all. I'll keep doing King grabs
With no chickens I will be making people uninstall T8 with my reversals xD
