I’m going for 2 days. Curious where I should stay as a first-time visitor that is going to check it out to see if I would stay for 3 months. Recommendations?
For 2 days, I would stay near Lagoa da Conceicao (lake town). From here you can explore Praia Mole (east coast) and central downtown (order an uber). IF you do choose to stay in Florianopolis for 3 months, I would honestly rotate around different areas of Florianopolis. I wouldn't stay in 1 place for 3 months. I would try different areas of the city for the first month (1 week here, 1 week there), see which one I like, and decide from there!

when is the best time to go visit ? may is nice ?
April - May could be nice. Not too hot and not too cold. If you go too late in May, it may be chilly as Florianopolis enters winter season.
Where are the best clubs? :-p
I didn't go to any, so I cannot say from experience. There's a few near Lagoa, but most clubs are located in Centro.
