Sumidero Canyon, right outside of Tuxtla, is our first stop in the magical nature oasis of the state of Chiapas. And like most of you, we wanted to see if it is as pretty and epic as the pictures make it look.
We took the tour during the rainy season (July), and the weather was just right. NOTE: rain brings trash into the river during this time.
If you have your own wheels, the parking is easy and right next to the ramp. If you have a Van or RV you can safely camp in the parking lot the night before. And no need to stress about your belongings, there is always someone onsite and the friendly caretaker will gladly take some pesos to keep a watchful eye.

Mexico is a beautiful country and well worth a visit. Haven't felt unsafe in our travels, and we've been all over!
