It ends with OpenAI uploading a new version of Chat GPT to the ship's mainframe as the real astronauts swear repeatedly at their supervisors. ...But, no, he's probably alone on the ship.

The marketing for this should’ve started MONTHS in advance. It’s literally releasing this coming month and this is the first theatrical trailer we’ve seen of it. And people wonder why original films aren’t getting the box-office numbers they used to…a lot of it stems from lackluster marketing.
Happens with movies like this. The studios know these won't be seen by that many people, so they don't spend much on the marketing. At least they get made and get a theatrical release.
This looks INCREDIBLY derivative of many better films. And yeah, based on the marketing and the fact that this comes out in weeks, it’s most likely a stinker. It’s a shame, because these types of movies are right up my alley, but the “guy going coo-coo in space” genre is getting really tired.

I don't get it, why do we need the hallucinations and being crazy in space thing? What about actually going to titan, seeing Jupiter and Saturn, awe etc. and also exploring and feeling the vastness of space. Nature in itself can be scary.
I agree the mental instability from the isolation trope has been overused but what you just described sounds like a successful conflict free space mission, where all clear goals are met. Which goes against every space movie ever made. 😂

You can test or train all you want. You can’t prepare for the unknown. Maybe all signs were fine and the crazy is brought on by something unknown, something nobody could have expected. But here it wants us to think it’s the side effects of whatever. Now that could have been known and they sent the team anyways. That’s certainly not unheard of. You hear about that kinda thing happening all the time. Moving forward despite warnings. Not psych screenings, but either not known or the more common theme, people screwing over other people.

Just finished watching this movie & I was pleased. This movie kept me interested & intrigued. The mystery builds nicely. Throughout the movie, the story sends us into reality, fiction, and dreams. Towards the end & the ending, gives us nice twists & turns, which is why I did not find this movie so bad. Thanks to the last 20 minutes though. Thumbs up from me.

I'm not really sure exactly what's going on, but I like the idea that drugs necessary to perform the mission could also have bad side effects. In other space movies, "cold sleep" without side effects is just a given, so other external things are what cause ... issues. But here? The writer thought of an interesting way to make the danger inherent to the space mission. As for the skeptics thinking this looks boring and played out ... I remember people having the same reaction to Event Horizon. At the time, there were TONS of space movies, and Event Horizon was perceived as just another space movie in the crowd. But actually, it did something different and it's now remembered fondly as a movie that stands out from that crowd actually. Maybe Slingshot will have a similar fate.

just saw this movie at AMC. good experience with a slightly confusing, Almost like Inception. Good twist, Compelling performances, good soundtrack, I recommended this movie.
I just saw an early release of this and I am absolutely blown away by how good it is. Next level awesome. So incredibly well-written and well executed. Philip K Dick would be proud!

Great perspective and this is exactly what happens and believable story twists. The acting is superb.
