Great video, man! I recently retired, so money's been tighter, and it's forced me to be more "human". The benefits of this are that I've learned what I like more by using what I already have, and also it's taught me how to be more creative when combining my gear for my everyday missions like you were talking about. Thanks again for another great video! 😁👊🏻
I carry a SAK Hiker, CIVII Mini Praxis, olight 13T, olight mini, Nitize Doohickey, Nitize Carabiner as a key ring, Muradin wallet, money clip, and a bandana. The SAK has been a great multi tool for the yard and the house. All items were under $40 each and all good quality.
I like what you had to say. Build an EDC for humans. It took me years to come up with a system that works for me. I work in the restaurant business as a kitchen manager. One minute, I'm preparing food for customers. The next, I'm taking a toaster apart because it's crushing bread or taking apart a menu board because the screen is malfunctioning.
Sounds like logic to me. I’m a dockworker so I carry a gerber knife to work that I beat up a lot. When I go anywhere else, Spyderco para3 lightweight. I carry a o-light arkfield when I’m camping. Other than that, I put my $ into my keychain setup. Wesn carabiner and wesn MT which is a pry, flathead, and bottle opener. Of course a G shock watch and leather wallet are mandatory, and that’s what works for me. It’s quality and functional, nothing over the top or unnecessary.
I am a big guy, and since I served 10 years in the ARMY, I am comfortable with more things in and on my person. I started carrying two Leatherman tools back when I was in basic training, and find that I use them together often. I don't feel them on my belt anymore, but I use them, so it does make sense. being a bigger guy, I prefer folders with a 3.5"+ blade, just because the longer scales fit my hands better. I do have quite a bit of EDC gear on me at any given moment. Some have said my carry in unnecessary, but everything I have has purpose. I get what you are saying. I do see some people carry unrealistic stuff, but I have done a lot of refinement on my gear over the last 40+ years.
Straight fire good sit. My carry changes depending on what I'm doing. If I'm going to work, I want my backpack which has stuff I may need going there or while I'm there. Doing yard work, just a beat knife for cutting weed whacker string or cutting weeds. Going out on the bicycle... that's a whole other animal of stuff that I never need any other time. You've gotta custom tailor your needs to what you're doing. I feel that it's not a one size fits all, at least for me anyways.
On point about getting a low maintenance EDC. Me carrying a folders to getting a utility folders from Bigidesign and exceed designs. No hassle of sharpening yet slimmer than those Fastbacks.
The exceed designs TiRant. Solid knife. , I use it 20 plus times a day work from sharping my carpenters pencil to cutting tape, to picking out slivers. It's perfect.
Great video. I agree, carry what works for you, not just cause it's cool. I had to tweak my EDC this year. I had bought some things that just didn't work for me. Brett Cooper was talking about how people get sucked into the trends and buying things they see on IG, digging themselves deeper into debt trying to keep up with the Jones's. Blessings to you and yours.
I say to hell with peoples perception of you. Buy that ye olden day cloak and that full sized longsword for your EDC and walk down the street like you own it! 🤣
After a few years of trying different things, I put together the perfect EDC that works best for ME. I still keep buying new blades, gizmos, and gadgets because I like doing so, but I haven't actually changed out anything in my "for real for real" EDC for about 2 years now, because I dialed it in to my own preferences, and it all works just how I want it to.
You might want to be like the x Marine. Riding your wheel with dreadlocks flying in the breeze with a cigars in his mouth.😳 Going down the street in the neighborhood.😂😂😂
These are the same reasons I believe a multitool is worthless. A Kershaw DIY Shrade that has screwdriver bits does everything I need. This is much smaller than a multitool
I’m all about low profile and light as possible even if it means giving up certain items because I feel I’d benefit more by not standing out and being light enough to sprint at the drop of a dime because if I see the chance to jet! I’m taking it rather it’s taking cover or just GTFO!! Either way I wanna be light
This is why people are hacking their Leatherman's and SAKs and so on. Who needs a parcel hook or an awl? Why isn't it a standard, widespread thing for people to order custom belt tools and such, with whichever tools they want?
...and exactly two videos later I'm seeing the Roxon Flex which does what I was saying. But I'm still going to say it, because that's one company doing the custom tool option. It should be offered by more companies.
I edc my gerber centerdrive and often look into sak for what my MT doesn’t have but I always end up asking myself do I really need it. What can I get that will actually be useful and not spend money Willy nilly
Been a silent viewer for a while, but I've been binging on your videos a lot for the past few weeks! Quality content from you bro. Appreciate it.
Thanks much big dawg
All valid points! Plus, you save money by not giving into the trends. The FOMO will pass
Definitely guilty of the Beer Bomber 👀 Makes popping bottles of Jarritos a dream 😂
I see you are a person of taste

!!! you always keep it real brother. most other channels make edc too complicated and go way overboard. appreciate you big dawg!

Spot on sir. Thank you X! Usefulness key word here! Let's have a day!

This speaks to the struggle of function over funk. Even my fergazzies have to be useful.
I appreciate your calm and sense

I literally just finished sharpening a Deka

Love the videos and I agree with you. Peace from Scotland

Practicality is more important than the Joe Tacticool image.
👩🏼🦼 they see me rollin
They hatin 👨🏾🦼➡️
As a bartender, whose job it is to judge people, I get the feeling that you are the type of person that I would buy a beer for.
Busch light please
The Streamlight Micro Stream and the Victorinox Super Tinker have been staples in my EDC for 15 years.
X, your EDC philosophy videos are why I subbed. Love’em.
Keeping it real! Battalion!
Have to say, you make the coffee and cigars look delicious. Time to hit the humidor and get the espresso machine from the basement!
You might want to be like the x Marine. Riding your wheel with dreadlocks flying in the breeze with a cigars in his mouth.😳 Going down the street in the neighborhood.😂😂😂
Nice realistic and informative
I have no choice but to edc my big pendulous clackers. I do like to decorate them with RE's for fun. Please don't judge
You don't strike me as a casserole guy
Sweet cigar cutter!
After I completed my carry I sold everything else I bought along the way, why?
Because it just was collecting dust in my cabin.
Spot on!! I wish Mr @bestdamnedc watch this😂😂😂😂

Tried joining the discord and verifying myself, but it doesn’t seem to register. I clicked the thumbs up but can’t access any channels
You should be good now
I bought a Surge thinking "this thing's a tank it'll be perfect for work"....carried it for maybe 3 days 😂
Excellent video X, spot on .
