Absolutely wonderful, amazing and breathtaking. Real music, no sampling, and these guys could actually play their instruments. John Lord on keyboards, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar. All the rest. Nothing current even comes close.
This Lazy is very different from the one on machine head. No matter, whatever they did at this time, they were on fire🔥🔥🔥. The early seventies, musically, we didn’t know how good we had it. We thought it would last forever.
Deep Purple...the epithamy of Rock....Ritchie the then God of guitar...Ian Gillian the then singer of all singers...Jon Lord the then king of of keyboards...may all of them be praised...
Hey buddy I just thought I would let you know there is no such word "epithamy"....it is not a word. I take it you're trying to say that deep purple is the greatest example of a rock band... the best.... So the word you're actually thinking of is the word EPITOME (ih-pit-uh-mee) and it's definition is "....thing that is typical or possesses to a high degree the features of a whole class". So in this case the 'whole class' is all the other rock bands in the world..... the thing is Deep Purple whom exhibits, to a very high degree, all the characteristics of a rock band.
There is (and never will be) no better version. Pure perfection of all the guys. Sounds that they just have pure fun at this night. 5 gods playing heavenly rock.
Pippo As well as Jon's organ, Ritchie's guitar, Ian's drumming and other Ian's singing and harmonica. This is the killer DP album. I must have heard zillion million times when I was a kid. Took me to ecstasy. Still love it, almost 40 yrs later.

Band of Gypsies live at the Fillmore East, The Allman Brothers Band at the Fillmore East and Deep Purple Live in Japan 3 of the greatest live albums ever recorded
This has to be the most talented bunch of musicians playing on one rock band ever. Benny Goodman back in the Stone Age had great band of really talented folks.
+jerry geiger That's true in most cases, but Lord is going through 100 watt Marshalls here. The gnarliest organ sound ever & a perfect compliment to the guitar sound.
By far the best live album ever. These guys are as good as anyone out there today except for Ian Gillian the best rock singer of all time. My apologies if I spelled your name wrong.

Blows away the studio version.
I'm fact every song on this album blows away their studio version

Lazy A Blues Sound! I Think Deep Purple Love's Blues! 👍
The best rock band of all time!
@Pippo… Deep Purple is Amazing!
Yep. And this is from the album that cemented that. Made in Japan is "da sheet" as they say...
