In this week's video I touch on some tooling leathers I personally like to use, and some, not so much.
From there, I'll fully explain the casing method I use that I have found that works best for me.

Ah thank you! This is such a great method. Will be using this from now on😁
Wish I watched this yesterday, lol. Tried my first tooling last night. Flames, might have been a bit much. But your have tool along that are the style I love. So going to try again tomorrow I think.
Great video
Thank you
👍
where do you get your herman oak from? Also Love your work, never tooled leather but have started because of your videos!
That’s so awesome to hear! Thank you so much! I get mine from Buckskin Leather (I’m in canada). Loads of suppliers sell it though ☺️
You said at the beginning that you don't use a lot of belly leather for tooling. Does that mean it's also bad to practice with for beginners?
Not at all, it’s great for practice. The grain is just stretchier and looser, therefore the finished piece will stretch out and distort quicker. I think it’s a fantastic option for practicing, it’s generally much lower in price than shoulders ☺️
@@dadhands ok thank you! I was worried that I bought my mom the wrong stuff to practice with. She's not really making things, just carving and drawing on
@@dougmulle2627 that sounds wonderful ☺️ I’d love to see what she’s working on sometime!
It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that, eh? 👍
Easy breezy ☺️
