It's baffling how little this show has been watched. One of the greatest crime dramas ever on TV
I hear it's actually one of the BBC's most successful shows, in terms of viewing figures and international acclaim. It's just there isn't a teenage fangirl hype around it in the same way as there is around Sherlock and Doctor Who, so naturally you hear less about it. I think the main reason they don't watch / know about it is the sort of 15-rated grittiness of it all; it doesn't exactly lend itself to that kind of obsession.
Thank God for that.
EconGeekProductions Same with Spooks. That was fantastic but not many people knew what it was or when it was on because it wasn't as popular with the younger people as it wasn't David Tennant or Benedict Cumberbatch as the lead.
***** To be honest I've heard about Spooks since I was a kid; I'm sure it's much better known than you think xD
Couldnt agree more, After watching Luther i want to see Idris Elba cast as the next James Bond, i think He'd make an amazing Bond.
Yeah I spent night duties a few years ago watching this and house of cards-both were great shows.I think sometimes people overlook shows on bbc or itv-if this had been on hbo or something it would have been massive
Wonderful series. We need more police dramas like Luther.
He threw a “tantrum” , because he was jaded as a child by his abusive father .
It’s explained in the episode, very impactful ...
2:12 Luther’s reaction to that has me rolling 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I keep laughing everytime I rewatch it 😂😂😂
I love Luther's sarcastic laught
I love the egotists that Luther get pitted against in his series. From Alice, to Lucien. The Springheel kid. Enzo and Vivian Lake. Especially the Springheel Kid. When he just ignored him. Ignored his ego. Or Alice, when he refused to acknowledge her. Then there was the cabbie episode with Niccola Walker. I love that woman.
When Nicola walker found out about her husband was amazing acting. That scene always gets me, one hell of an actress
Such a creepy and disgusting episode. The actor who played Burgess was so reptilian and scary looking. And once again Luther kicks some ass! Loved when he punched him the face : D
Not Totally Unfunny yeah, he deserved that one.
Luther is such a good series. One of the best I've seen
That's enough of that Lucien Burgess,,,,you can't outsmart Luther.
Lol his tantrum made me laugh.
Always happens when whiteness has been outplayed by "something" it considers inferior to it...
one of the hardest episode i ever seen..
the first scene is so hard, and then all the episode.. i felt so bad and terrified.
Bus scene is mental
Currently binging this on Netflix..
Absolutely amazing show.
Sad we never got this on tv where I live.
"I look forward to seeing you prove any-o-that".... hilarious!
brilliant, love that scene, benge watched whole series, stumbled upon this show, simply engaging
what? u bedda stop it! I stumbled onto this last yr & literally binge watched all 4 seasons like twice. I know every episode by heart. was one of them scouring the web for a glimpse of season 5, everyone loves this drama
“We set you up Lucien, you’ve been outplayed. I look forward to seeing you prove any o’that.” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the best programmes on the bbc
Amazing episode enjoy this series
not gonna lie as soon as i saw this on netflix i was hooked but then it was gone before i had time to finish watching it XD damn these early crime 2000 shows were amazing!
It’s back on now :)
Luther series is top quality like HBO's True Detective season 1.
I'd love to see them portray Batman and the Joker, especially after watching that punch and that laugh.
That would be awesome!
Why does EVERY RUclips video ever have comments saying "XYZ could play the joker!" . There's more to acting than Batman
Lol, Luther is literally London's Batman.
Both don't use guns, Ripley is his Robin, Alice is his Catwoman, his coat is his cape, and do I really need to point out *dark* knight?
John Doe yeah, but the difference between Alice and Catwoman is the latter steals. Alice murders. I always considered her to have some Joker qualities.
I see it more as if Batman and Joker were working together to take down the big and the bad. As if it's a different Batman Universe somewhat. Just so happens that Alice (Joker) is on Luther's (Batman) side to help him break the rules a bit when it comes to taking their enemies down. Also Alice has an uncontrolable obsession and lust for Luther just like Joker has with Batman.
2:12 I had this stuck in my head for like half a day and it was driving me MENTAL, couldn't for the life of me remember what it was from
This and peaky blinders best shows on bbc
So which one is the devil? Which made this such a great series. So underrated.
At the start when burdess started sticking his tongue out and wiggling it, it was 3am and I was scared for my life.
good video
DCIIII...Luthah! Tee hee. Paul Rhys is the best villain ever! I almost want to buy season one of this show, simply for THIS episode.
Did he punch him for real cause that's the best nose effects I've seen in general. His nose still fucked up. Good Lord. lol.
Found it!
REVERSE SMOKE DETECTOR
Haha
This actors from twin peaks!
This an old comment, but neither of the actors in this video starred in Twin Peaks.
Paul Rhys (the bad guy) DOES look a little like Kyle McLaughlin, who played Agent Cooper on that show. I can see how you would get them mixed up!
But Kyle has more of a tan, a very pronounced chin, and an American accent. ;)
very underrated series im a lil selfish in not spreading the word among my folks but its my little secret
Almost certain that elements of Lucien are based on Boyd Rice.
Fairly sure thats intrapment also he won't have a warrent to be on the boat so ot would be inadmissible
Luther is a sociopath with some difference..

& why is Luther's hand in his pocket? he doesn't carry a gun lol
He probably has a gun on his ankle. just like cop has a back up gun. His brain 🧠 is his first weapon against criminals like this
REVERSE STAR WARS
REVERSE TRANSFORMERS
Can't remember what killer this was. Can someone remind me what he did?
He kidnapped a mother and then drank her blood, and then left her in some sort of freezer to die.
He’s some sort of author as well.
Hope that helps :)
REVERSE QUAHEEM
wish I was one of the writers. I could've done so much with alices character, she needed to be a troubled normal person just as luther was, instead they went with making her a scycho super hero that no one can touch, pure plot development in my opinion
Mr. Wayne No, that doesn’t sound good. I like how Alice is portrayed in Luther. Sociopathic.
@@daniel4486 I agree, I think her character perfectly fit Luthers.
Lovely Jewish brother 💕❤️💖

REVERSE BUMBLEBEE
I have never watched an episode of this and never will
Alright?
Way you go ..byeee
Good for you. Even though you’re missing out
Damn that’s interesting but I don’t remember anyone asking because I don’t think anyone gives a fuck
This one was obvious tbh. Comparing to other US shows, i felt this one looked a kid wrote it. The plot was so obvious.
Neil Cross said that the idea behind Luther was putting the killer at the front of the episode, so you know who they are from the beginning
Lol as if Luther could outsmart anyone! He looks dumb. Put it this way he no dexter Morgan is he!
He likely wouldn't be a leading man in films and TV shows if he looked like a fool.
How do you look dumb?? Lol
So sorry but you sound how you think he looks
@@babiirae729 shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up hahaha
