I’m German and you pronounce Schumpeter rather correct at your initial attempt. The second version sounds a lot stranger - mostly because of the vowels. Greets from Haan (Rhld.) 🙂
I always thought people's interest in Marx and socialism persists despite everything due to the fact that people experience what he talked about first hand. Its not some theory if what is laid out can be felt and observed directly. Giving it legitimacy.
Fun fact is that your pronunciation is right, it's very similar to czech pronunciation and Schumpeter was originally from Czechia, only Germans pronounce it differently.
Schumpeter does not mention durable consumer goods much less the depreciation of durable consumer goods. So what can he say about Planned Obsolescence being equivalent to a high technology form of share cropping.
At 1:15 it becomes clear as crystal that Schumpeter has never ever read marx. Anything beyond this is a waste of time and toxic to your intellectual mind.
That book has been sitting on the shelf in my office for 3 years. Now I have to read it.
Yay! Always happy to hear your thoughts along the way Stephen
I jus started reading Schumpeter and you posted this. Thank you so much.

yes Marxism persists simply because capitalism is garbage for most people, and it's an alternative to it.

Is the kid thinking about food because he's starving or is he pondering the future invention of the cheeseburger? Both things are bleak.
HA and he doesn’t even realize his suffering is just the result of my limited choice of (free) vector graphics. Reality is a crazy thing
