It is because in the first two of his dramas, who were successful, he was still learning how to act (becoming better with each new one, but still not stellar), and the two last ones were commercial flops - although it wasn't his fault: Mirae's Choice couldn't make up its mind and finished with a half-baked open ending and Three Musketeers" had the same airing as "Heirs" with Lee Min Ho - so he's considered "box office poison". Let's hope that the next one, "The Package" will do something to reverse this bad luck, although the writer, director and other actors don't sound at all promising.
