The amount of classics you were able to find is incredible!!!! I gotta find mansions doing book sales in my area now lol. Sipping coffee while browsing a Victorian era mansion/book store is something I have to experience at least once.
This is just what I needed to get me through this extensive lockdown here in Sydney.. Another great video :) Love you guys and hope you are keeping safe and healthy :)
I appreciate the brief summaries! I’ve just gotten into westerns. The gold seer trilogy is fantastic. I also really liked Whiskey When We’re Dry by John Larison. Excited now for Outlawed.
The "flower" in the bible is a clover with four leaves. Normally you find them with 3 leaves. If you find one with 4, you will have luck. So many people preserve them :)
Devil in the White City is amazing!!! Erik Larson is an amazing writer. Dead Wake and The Splendid and the Vile are the other two books I've read by him. I can go on and on about his books so I'll be quiet haha. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo is a classic! i am surprised you haven't read that one yet! It's a big book for sure. I had to read it for my English Lit class in college along with several other giant classical books. I don't like to be forced to read something when it's a requirement, but Les Miserables pulled me right in and didn't disappoint. The Monster of Florence sounds really good. I'll have to check that out. :) The Da Vinci Code is the only Dan Brown book I read, to me that was the best book he wrote. Angels and Demons just didn't sit well with me. Nice picks as always! That was a very amazing dutch bible. It's beautiful I love the floral design on the cover. I always love finding little treasures like that. Looks fragile definitely. As for advice...I do know of a book binding/vintage book society who restores super old books but that's all the way in England. Um...my advice is to look up in your area if someone can rebind (book binding I believe they call it. I didn't know people actually do this until my friend told me.) the spine of the book. I honestly would just see it wrapped in that paper and preserved in a safe spot. Because to me, originality of any old things I find is the most purest and precious. Fixing it would take away from the authenticity. But that's just me. It could be passed down as a family treasure, shrugs. I would try to make my own wooden box or find a box of the book's dimensions and just keep it in there as a keepsake.
I'm so excited to read it!!! I haven't read Les Miserables, but I have seen the musical a million times. I was on the fence about the movie adaption (for some reason), but now I love that, too. I haven't read a Dan Brown book yet, but Da Vinci Code will probably be the first - and maybe the last one. I agree about preserving how antiques look! I'm going to look for a box I think :)
@@PaigingThrough :>! Definitely not a difficult read just super long but worth your time haha. I saw the musical when it came out. Heard of the movie but haven’t seen it. The musical was tragic enough. Haha. Yeah, that was my mind set with Dan Brown too haha. Good luck at finding the perfect box!
I'm sorry to tell you but the bible isn't Dutch but it originated from Denmark, kobenhavn/ Copenhagen. But there is a Dutch flag in there! Still such a cool bible! I would get it fixed or keep it in a glass box.
Paige and Troy I am really really jealous of you and your amazing beautiful books 📚 and where was my invite love you guys and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading 📖 love your number one Australia fan John ❤️❤️❤️
Such a cool bible, but are you sure it is in dutch. To me the text looked like danish and it also says it is translated by Dr. T. Skat Rørdam, that google told me is a danish priest (source in english: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Skat_R%C3%B8rdam (found a more trustworthy source in norwegian that said some of the same)). Love your videos by the way!

A noble goal! The coffee roast has to have a really fancy name in order to make the experience complete
I am loving that used book sales are coming back!
I know. It's finally starting to feel like things are looking up :)

You should go to a recycling plant next. Really get that vintage feel. XD
LOL I've already dug through Goodwill bins,

I'm going to add these to my TBR! I've been wanting to get into westerns for a long time and this is a great place to start! Thank you!!!
@@PaigingThrough You are very welcome! :)
For some reason you remind me of the dipiction of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter books. The chapter pictures with her in them haha
HAHA! This made my year! Thank you
@@PaigingThrough Just call it as I see it haha

That's actually awesome to know! I really had no idea myself. I was just going based on how it was labeled where I found it
That vintage Bible is so cool and I’m pretty sure that’s an old four leaf clover pressed in there!
This is so cool 📚💕
The Dutch bible is in old Dutch so its a really cool find but not many people will be able to read it😅
Klopt, ik heb 2 boeken uit de 19e eeuw. Ik heb een poging gedaan om die te lezen, maar oud Nederlands is een stuk ingewikkelder dan oud Engels.

I wasn't positive - I was just going based on how it was labeled, but you're definitely right! I think it's Danish. Thank you for looking into it
