2:23:00 Flim Flam was actually a sidekick from "The 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo" a 13 episode series from late 1985, which pitted Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne and Scrappy against actual supernatural entitites, aided by Flim Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul, who was a warlock, not an actor, Flim Flam was nearly as unpopular as Scrappy, explaining the nod here.
OMG! Thank you for this insight! I'm definitely going to have to take a look at that show now because that sounds completely unhinged! It's so cool to see the knowledge the creators of the show had of past Scooby doo media, they really did care for the franchise. (also thank you for watching so far into the video 🤎)
@@TheRubyCoin ik this is old but yeah the 13 ghosts of scooby doo is a true fever dream i actually have the dvd with all the episodes. Recommend for a night when you're feeling silly
Wait, since when is Mystery Inc. an underrated show? It's widely regarded as one of the best Scooby-Doo media ever. I understand that it might be a bit less popular among non-scoob fans, but I would say there are WAY more underrated shows even about Scooby. Like "Be cool Scooby-Doo", which almost noone watched due to its artstyle, or "Shaggy and Scooby-Doo get a clue"
this video is so well documented and so well thought through. i was suprised to see you are such a small channel. i love scooby doo so damn much, i rewatched Mystery Inc at least 4 or 5 times but i never got bored during this video. you did a great job editing, explaining, and analyzing the plot so far. cant wait to see season 2 !!
That genuinely mean so much! Thank you for your support and kind words! Comments like these make me so excited to start the working on the season two video!
scooby doo has been one of my favorite things since I was a kid. I really think this is the series that best represents the franchise, the perfect combination of funny and serious. I hope in the future we get another show like this, but unfortunately Velma is still going strong so we most likely won’t for a while. This video is amazing!
Thank you so much! I really agree with everything you said! I love this show so much and hope and wish they do something like it again, maybe even for an adult audience. Velma had so much potential but they really fumbled the bag with it, such a shame.
So stoked to find this video, thanks for putting so much work toward paying homage to this masterpiece! That being said…..Trap of Love is my favorite Hex Girls song, and I will die on that hill. Edit: “Scooby is well known as being fork lift certified” 😂😂😂
I really loved the content and the delivery of it! This was one of my favorite scooby doo iterations & I literally just did a full rewatch. Hope you do one for season 2.
I got to say, I enjoy this review so very much! You have quite interesting way of presentinf stuff and your critique is quite funny too! When will part 2 covering season 2 come out?
Glad you enjoyed it, I really appreciate the feedback! Can't say when the second part is coming out just yet bbbbuuuutttt it's definitely in the works!!!
Tbh I love this video he brings up so many points that I also thought while watching. Like lowkey it just feels like your watching this movie in a discord call with your buddies and your cracking jokes and stuff.

@@TheRubyCoin sure! Is also a cool fun fact that the first live action is ICONIC here, not sure if it's as popular out there but here it is part of EVERYONE life! you know i kind of wish the franchise would focus more on real supernatural instead of people in masks or have a balance between so we never know what were getting and also i kind of gave up on this series when it first started because of the fact they kept getting the people in the constumes wrong it just didn't look that interesting but i was wrong and i can admit to that
There’s an old classic song, “Where Walks My True Love” I wonder if the phrasing “Where Walks Aphrodite,” was a nod to that, what with the whole love theme. Only worth mentioning because it adds to the long list of cool pop-culture references this show manages to pull off. (I notice more every time I see clips, it’s really a gift that keeps giving.)
It might be a coincidence but the lyrics of that song even match what we see in the episode! It talks about how the singer will "know [his] true love" just because in his heart he loves her, no artificial reasons. I feel like that connects with that episode so well cause we literally see the people like cheerleaders dating nerds, ignoring social expectations that would normally separate them! May just be a happy coincidence but it's cool to me none the less 🤷♀! thanks for telling me about this, would have never found that!
I love stuff like this, I'm an elder millennial who's a pro-wrestling fan, so...I threw my nostalgia goggles away 10 years ago. And burned the garbage can. And launched the ashes into space. Toward the sun. I should've given this show a shot, but I was too sore from how crappy the OG series got, my DAD figured out, when I was still a child, that the episodes are always exactly the same. And it sounds like this really tried to go out of its way to NOT be that. "They trade ascots!" is one of the best plot moments I've ever heard described. Love long-form stuff like this!
Thank you so much🤎! I'm still a wee lad but i think it was so easy for me to push off shows I'd watched when i was younger as slop. this video was a very fun way for me to not only take a trip down memory lane but also for me to just plain enjoy a good show. It wanted to be something and you can tell! Appreciate you stopping by and sharing your experiences! (also them trading accosts is a moment that needs to be taught in history classes everywhere)
