I hope the mat, raft, and tube slides have proper rounded-bottom pieces in the future. Also the double tubes shouldn't be spinning outside of special elements (and wide, flat bottom straights). @@megaplexXxHD you're right, OP brought it very well. I may have been a little agitated and ongoing surprised by all the amounts of hate Frontier gets that I didn't read this comment as progressive feedback.
It's easier to add round-bottom slides as a brand new style of flume in a future update than to try to change the current flat-bottom slides. I'm of the opinion that the tube slides need to be redone from scratch anyway, but trying to change the current ones too much will cause issues elsewhere in the game. Adding the corrected tube slides as an entirely separate attraction should allow the old slides to stay intact for legacy support. From there, they can just clean up the animations to make it presentable.
@@yt-mull0rthe hate is very well deserved. PC2 feels like a cheap cash grab. They wanted to throw it out before Christmas no matter what state it is in - and forced people to preorder with their disgusting FOMO preorder strategy. That’s the price they have to pay now.
Still not sure why the double raft flumes are rotating so much, I can't remember ever being on a double tube slide that rotated as much as the ones in the game do. Kinda throws off the realism aspect for building water coasters. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I think it’s a fun feature but they should do more to build around it. For instance, make narrower paths which the tube can’t rotate around, but allow you to make it wider to enable potential rotations. It’s not as realistic either way, but there is soo much room for expression and creativity if they break from it temporarily
Guys, I appreciate that you are trying, but you really need to RESEARCH how rafts and people behave on different types of slides… a lot of this is so wrong. The two person rafts RARELY rotate so freely like that, and they’re supposed to go up the walls on the turns of a ROUND trough. Didn’t think it would be so hard to get right after how accurate planet coaster 1 was.

I kinda agree. Like the entry speed does affect it, but I think it still looks janky asf. Still needs much more work, along with the rest of the video from that point

Something I think you guys do need to add is animations for guests getting on rides and coasters and slides. It’s a small detail but if for example the restrains on a coaster lifted up and they all climb into the coaster instead of teleporting into the seats, I think it would look so much better. Same with flumes for example if the guests climbed onto the slide instead of teleport on. I think it would be better but I’m not a game developer so I don’t know how difficult these things are to do
Did you not watch the same video that I also found at this url? They literally showed it. The slide bottoms are just art adjustments, but the tubes moving... is in. You can see at one point the tube actually looks like its bent for the curved bottom and it isn't in model/art yet.
It's actually easier to add the fixed flumes you are thinking of as a brand new ride type, rather than trying to change the current flumes. The current flumes are poorly designed at their core, and need to be replaced entirely anyway. Might as well clean up what they can for now with the current tube flumes, and start over from scratch with a separate flume ride that's better designed.
Frontier, i think the community would be alot less harsh if we knew why the the tube flumes are flat, i can guess there was alot of hard work put into the current flume system and it would be hard to just get rid of, but we wanna know why a normal concave slide is so bad. The inner tube flumes as waaaaaay to wide and kinda ruin the effect for creating realistic water parks. Also on our side, planet coaster is far fom an easy game to program so lets give the devs a little grace i figuring it out, with these planet games, it is very clear there is love and care put into almost all aspects of the game, meaning there was most likely a big sacrifice to make the flums this way. Frontier is awesome, lets not forget!
Because they only displayed "slow entry speeds," which no, this looks better than having a tube do a "roll back" because it didn't have enough speed lmfao. the cope. We'd have to see what the engine does when you give it *more* speed.
This is great but can the slides just look and function normally? I’ve never been to a waterpark where my double raft literally rotates around 360° freely lol. That’s a huge safety issue in a real park and just obliterates any realism in the flume
2:23 needs quite a bit of work there still, I get it's a work in progress but it now feels like the gravity of the sun has possessed the riders. Thank you for sharing and being open with how it will look at least unlike hiding flumes at launch. Hopefully looking to much better physics for elements in the near future :)
Yeah, I'm not sure that the team really got what we meant when we said we wanted physics. The flytrap shouldn't have a track, it should just be an element that lets gravity take it where it will. Same with the actual rest of the slides, why do they have flat bottoms to begin with? We want to feel them rocketing around a corner. So far, it just feels like a spinning coaster with water slide visuals slapped on it.

I have a huge gripe with the guest movements...this has been an issue since PC1, why do guests just flock to the attractions like ants in a line, this isn't natrual behaviour, we typically spread out and find space, small numbers of people will wander off along paths just to see what's there or to see scenery, they had this in rollercoaster tycoon, PC is just so linear it breaks any realism it's like the guest have tunnel vision for rides and nothing else
hopefully in the future we get an update that will add single direction tube slide (Tube slides that are more narrow and have the tube going in the same direction the whole time) sort of an in between of the body flume and the tube flume, (with the same sized tubes of course) Obviously that wouldnt be very fun with the current flat bottomness of many of the slides, but it could be a cool addition to add in the future once the slide physics and flat bottoms are all figured out. Super hyped for the upcoming updates. Also another thing to mention is more resistance on flat sections, i have realistic straight down slides, and riders seem to not loose significant speed when going on the straight section at the end, subsequently hitting the skim out at a much faster speed than is realistic. In real life, since these flat sections have slower moving water, there is more water volume being exterted on the rider thus causing more resistance. But thats just an idea.
So the updated physics for this update just meant people would move side to side more on slides? People are being way too positive for some reason - if you charge this much for a game and the main selling point is the slides, they should atleast be as good as the ones in a game made 20 years ago. You literally learnt with Planco 1 that people wanted realism and spent ages updating the game to fit that; and yet you release this cubic slides that run on pre-set tracks Also why were guests flying off slides something you now have to waste development time on rather than having that for the launch? Let alone realism. So obvious that you just rushed this game out and now the time that should be spent on meaningful additions is being wasted on fixing the main selling feature
I'm wondering if any changes will be made to the coaster heatmaps? I wish they could update in real time when building so you don't have to test run each time to check what the forces are like, and maybe make the heatmaps more readable and precise like the g-force combs in NL2. I know not many are asking for this but I think it will be a pleasant change for most.
HUGE fan of the first (and mod maker) and have been sitting on getting the sequel. This update made me pull the trigger. Just want you to know that you're hard work isn't going unnoticed.
Now this is a definite improvement from what we saw at launch day. However, I really don't think those special pieces at 2:23 should be behaving like that. That all said, it's an improvement nonetheless, and I like it! Keep up the great work frontier! 😊
Thank you for all the hard work, and the continued hard work. The game is coming along wonderfully and I cant wait to see where the Flume Physics ends up. Its been so much fun exploring what we have so far and I know FDev have many many more plans, some dastardly Im sure..
@@ErwinPPPshow me a flume that is flat bottomed and you’ll maybe have a point. Since games are updated it’s okay to give feedback, if we didn’t believe frontier could do it, we wouldn’t even be suggesting it.
This news is relieving to say the least. I was really worried the game wouldn’t live up to expectations but now there is proof it’s being fixed there is great reduction in my anxiety. Good job guys! If Shaun Murray can do it there’s no reason why frontier can’t! This game is on the path way to becoming on of the greats! PHEW!
For me this is game is a dream come true. I don't need any coasters just water rides all the way. Wish there was an interaction where if the flume ends in a lazy river the guest will stay on the floatie, continue with the stream and disembarks by himself whenever. Also if he could just board another slide directly from the lazy river where you put an entry station. I remember years back when I was in Dubai water park, you could grab a floatie and ride almost all rides without standing up.
Great work PlanCo team! Awesome to see the very nice upgraded animations. Looks way better. And also: I can't wait to yeet my guests off a slide! I have had so much fun already playing the game. It is great that you listen to feedback, but geeeeezzzzzz some people are so negative. The game totally rocks. And my experience is infinitely better than on Planet Coaster 1. The graphics, ride scenery, pools, scenery brush, scaling. Awesome. There are few quirks. And you've already shown that you are dedicated to fixing them. Awesome. Keep it up. And stay positive!
the game had/has a rough start, but i really hope frontier will improve upon everything. Im looking forward to all enhancements, new features and even all DLCs. Lets hope they deliver! :)
I'm confident you will be able to patch the game to a state where it's way better than Planco 1 if you keep this up! In 6 to 12 months, the game will most likely be absolutely amazing, and hopefully the news will properly spread on the Internet so this is reflected in steam reviews.
I'm confident Frontier will never get any more money off me for me to even leave a review. Instead of taking the interesting mini games from Thrillville they took the childish dialogue. That alone puts me right off.
Hey Frontier love the new update and slide physics but can you fix these bugs. When i change the dispatch interval for a slide, it reverts back the origional value the next time i launch the world. And when using load/undoad stations, the train in the load station waits till 2 block zones are empty ahead of it instead of 1 before dispatching
@coastersaga The cable car somehow just stops for no reason and either its a power bug or something but it makes the cable car to stop with no errors and guests just get stuck on there.
Still looks very rigid and goofy. In the throw put footage you can see how the guests still snap very unnaturally. The Venus flytrap piece, clearly shows the raft clipping through. The new moves with the loops look very bad, with the raft changing accelerations very unnaturally. Just imagine if the coasters had this weird, and rigid behavior. Building coaster would be very unsatisfying.
It states CLEARLY work in progress. Come on man, they are working on it. The stuff is improving big time and wasn't THAT big of a deal at all for the playability of the game.
@ bad progress, rather than tackling the underlaying issues of slide with flat shapes (the cross section looks bad!) and the lack of physics, they haven’t addressed the shape concern, and are just making more paths in special pieces, leading to just more poorly looking water slides visuals. At first I gave the benefit of the doubt before release, but now I’ve already bought the game and I’m not eligible for refund, so I am in my right to criticize what they show, and just hope Frontier will actually address the issues. Rather than just showing complacency and Frontier misunderstands it as good enough. I am not alone, the Reddit threads and other RUclips videos have also very similar criticism.
I love physics-based games so it’s unfortunate they can’t be accurate in a theme park builder. Some physics look worse in this update. Wish they had focused on the theme park and then added water parks later, it’s taking too much development and thought away from the park side; menus, guests, interactions, fun.
Though you'd think these are all different departments. If guest behaviour or menus are not working properly, the guys doing flumes are not even involved. So I wonder why so many different parts are not on the level where it should be.
For a creative game, limiting players to STILL 4,000 prop limit for workshop builds is horrible. Please increase this to a nice 10,000. Because having to carefully rip apart my coaster in two to upload it in parts is extremely annoying not only for the builder because it ruins triggers but also for the one attempting to use it
Hope you will also work on the first person mode in the future. For me it is very frustrating walking through everything, even in the queuelines you walk through the fences of the queue. Is it possible to follow and queuing your own queue by not glitching through everything, like the guests ? So to add collision mode at least into the queueline ? Would be great.
Fix the worksop where blueprints get wrongfully marked as if they received an update, you guys acknowledged the issue now fix it please and please give us an update all button.
I wish they'd add the bowls for all the slides that don't just end at the bottom. Give us one that we could put in the middle of the slide and continue onwards with it after that
my wishlist -light effects and black hole sections in tube slides -swim up bars -shorten and smoothen the entry and ending of uphill propellant parts on slides, avoid the flat parts -Wild River, canyon slides -Maurer Spike coaster -Vekoma Splash Party
Please fix the water animation on the log flume and rapids it looks worse than Planco 1. Someone on RUclips pointed out that the animation cuts and clips off and also doesn't look as realistic as the rapids in Planco 1.
I'm hoping that the staff gets fixed in this update. I want to give multiple breaks... I also hope that a First Aid is brought into the game for sick guests.
Any improvement is a good start. I haven’t installed it yet, I go in for a robotic surgery on Friday for Crohn’s and I will be in the hospital for a few days. Tomorrow is the big update, right? But more updates coming in the new year? I’m glad 2 has working water slides and pools like RCT3 Soaked! though. I haven’t played RCT3 in several years since I got PC1, but I bought the Complete Edition a while ago. My one wish, please is for more scenery packs and more ride packs like PC1 has but more content than PC1.
Has anyone noticed that the rollercoasters they made before the update worked fine and now have to remake the rides. Why has all the rollercoasters slowdown
I need the pool-exiting ai to be better and the kerbs to work. Peeps keep exiting my pools onto the slide exit and getting stuck. I tried fixing it with placing staff path there, but it didn't work. Also, why won't guests get into the pool if there is scenery at the edge, but the scenery doesn't keep them climbing out?

Much love Frontier!! Thank you for all that you do for this beautiful game! ❤❤
I can't wait to see people fly off the slides once I get the game
People will complain no matter the fix, I'm ready for more scenery.
Any chance we get coaster chains soon? Would be nice to build dualing coasters with Stardust Racers opening in a few months!
It’s a start, but please remove the flat bottoms. PLEASE, I beg of you.
I love you guys so much! Thank you for all!❤🎉😊🥰
Thank you for all the hard work, and the continued hard work. The game is coming along wonderfully and I cant wait to see where the Flume Physics ends up. Its been so much fun exploring what we have so far and I know FDev have many many more plans, some dastardly Im sure..
Please fix the fps on ps5, I’m sick of playing at 30 fps
You should make the rafts bend with going up and down flume elements
Thank you for working on unlocking the guests from the flumes. Looks weird to have them stick to the flume over high speed bunny hops. Love this!!
FOCUS MORE ON COASTERS ITS IN YOUR NAME DAMN IT
coasters are fine and they are adding load unload stations chill bro
@@unioncoastersIf I’m not mistaken, they were supposed to do it this month. So far, that doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen
@@jaydabomb2510 they added it
I am so glad both flumes and slides can't wait to building a theme park and water park in Planet coaster 2
Sorry but the raft slide still has a flat bottom. 😢
Oh nee. Totaal niet te spelen. Ik zou een refund aanvragen kerel.
@@ErwinPPPbro you literally brown nose frontier, that’s crazy you are willing to pay 70 dollars for a unfinished game lol
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks great. I want the option to keep the raft heading the same way without rotating!
Seems like an unfinished game is being sold?
Adjustable height on drop towers?
the game had/has a rough start, but i really hope frontier will improve upon everything. Im looking forward to all enhancements, new features and even all DLCs. Lets hope they deliver! :)
I hope that if they are jumping off a slide, then hit another slide, they can continue to slide the new slide.
Please put lapping back on the Sky loop coaster.
C'est génial mais à quand une version physique pour les consoles ????
Only thing where im waiting for is to use custom music/video on speakers/billboards
Read the update notes before you complain
@@kimbrolyyits no complain and in the notes it is removed my love❤
oh, the floating guests are something else hahaha thanks
Hey Frontier love the new update and slide physics but can you fix these bugs. When i change the dispatch interval for a slide, it reverts back the origional value the next time i launch the world. And when using load/undoad stations, the train in the load station waits till 2 block zones are empty ahead of it instead of 1 before dispatching
The multi select in building mode on console doesn’t work 😢
We're addressing this in the update. Full list of changes here: www.planetcoaster.com/updates/1-0-9%20
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
great update! Hope that this is not the final update to the flumes though. Could still use some work!
I hope the cable car will be fixed, its very jank. The one in chapter 3 paradise lost, it doesn work at all and cant remove it
Huh?
@coastersaga The cable car somehow just stops for no reason and either its a power bug or something but it makes the cable car to stop with no errors and guests just get stuck on there.
@@CoasterfreaksCustomCoasters Have you seen the Outamax wing coaster bug? If you build a lift hill over 150 meters high, the cable snaps.
@coastersaga I haven't built a coaster of that type yet
i hope they add some water movement to the water rides, small features but they feel wrong not being there
Still looks very rigid and goofy.
Please stop releasing unfinished Games
please also add the feature when the slides are closed, that there is no water coming down.
For a creative game, limiting players to STILL 4,000 prop limit for workshop builds is horrible.
Please increase this to a nice 10,000. Because having to carefully rip apart my coaster in two to upload it in parts is extremely annoying not only for the builder because it ruins triggers but also for the one attempting to use it
Maf props for implementing feedback. ❤ he k yes!
Any plans on releasing a roadmap for revamping the game's UX?
Why aren’t the wave pool pieces in one pool not working
2 persons tubes don't spin ffs have the developers ever been on a waterslide????
No I just searched for the update on PC2 and you guys came up with it 58 seconds ago 😂
I wish they'd add the bowls for all the slides that don't just end at the bottom. Give us one that we could put in the middle of the slide and continue onwards with it after that
I hope guests flying off will also happen to the side friction coaster
Please update the no break in sandbox mode. My staff stil takes a break. In planco 1 that wasnt the case.
my wishlist
-light effects and black hole sections in tube slides
-swim up bars
-shorten and smoothen the entry and ending of uphill propellant parts on slides, avoid the flat parts
-Wild River, canyon slides
-Maurer Spike coaster
-Vekoma Splash Party
Please fix the water animation on the log flume and rapids it looks worse than Planco 1. Someone on RUclips pointed out that the animation cuts and clips off and also doesn't look as realistic as the rapids in Planco 1.
PLEASE can we get rid of the Heatmaps button instructions being on 24/7 on console? ESPECIALLY when during coaster POVs!!!
What about separate load and unload platforms?
The video title is "Flumes and slides", so obviously this video is about the flume and slides part of the update....
Nice stuff with the flumes.
Please fix the free camera zooming and the 1-9 keybindings for control groups.
My one wish, please is for more scenery packs and more ride packs like PC1 has but more content than PC1.
yes, and hope your surgery goes well
im glad we no longer have guests with upstop wheels on flumes 🤣
Now when guests get in my rafts on the flume the raft glitches and shakes
Has anyone noticed that the rollercoasters they made before the update worked fine and now have to remake the rides. Why has all the rollercoasters slowdown
Why remove the animation from people falling into the pool ?
It’s not available yet
I need the pool-exiting ai to be better and the kerbs to work. Peeps keep exiting my pools onto the slide exit and getting stuck. I tried fixing it with placing staff path there, but it didn't work.
Also, why won't guests get into the pool if there is scenery at the edge, but the scenery doesn't keep them climbing out?
Why are the slide bottoms still flat though?..
Wish they keep the tubes stable and straight forward in small track. Except for Specials and big ones.
