The satnav mugged her off "turn left and keep right" she did exactly that.
She moved in too early i guess
@@18sevencl Well the actual rule is that you keep left until a bit nearer to the right turn then move to the right lane; but the satnav mugged her off.
@@HaydnG266 yeah i agree, sometimes the satnav are abit stupid, it’s not like she was stopping anyone passing either
yeaa frr
The issue is that she blindly followed the SatNav without considering the actual situation on the road. You shouldn’t be in the right lane of a dual carriageway unless you’re overtaking. You can also see at 05:10 that because they were in the right lane, the car had to undertake them in the left lane; while undertaking isn’t illegal it’s very discouraged by the Highway Code - which IMHO further justified the serious fault.
The SatNav can give you instructions, but at the end it’s up to the driver to react and decide according to the road/traffic situation whether if it’s appropriate to follow.
I can now say I’m part of the ‘I passed but still watch this videos’ club 😅 If anyone watching is wondering if the driving course is worth it, it definitely helped me
I passed my test on the 2nd attempt last week. I live in Ireland and not the UK but the ways of driving are practically the same. I found these videos to be of great use and I hope everyone here still learning to drive will pass their test in the near future
Thank you for watching the channel and well done on passing your test

I think she did pretty well under the circumstances yes she made serious dangerous mistakes but I reckon in time probably another 10 hours worth of lessons and should be well on our way good luck for the future and good luck with passing that test soon
Lol dns training fitness? 😂 funny name
Same, I think her problem is nerves making everything go out of her head. That’s why I’m happy to do 40 plus hours, once you fail on a test your confidence is gone. I’ll probably be the same on my test lol

10 lessons? Bruh

Don’t think the sat nav major is very fair, you’re told to follow the sat nav and it literally told her to stay right. And it’s one of them things that when you pass your test everyone is doing it, loads of people drive in the right lane just because they can
I agree with you in this
I get you, but I failed my last test for going 23 in a 20mph lane and people do that all the time after there test 😂
Like a lot of people say, you learn to drive for the test, and then you learn how to really drive after
@@lissymaggie that’s wrong though, why are we held to such high standards when other drivers are doing serious faults all the time, makes me mad lmao
@@lissymaggie I totally agree with this, we’re taught how to pass a test then once you pass you learn to drive
@hfc they do anyway lol, the problem comes when they’re experienced, they get competitive.
The feedback by Pin is good opportunity for her to identify her weaknesses and areas where she can improve, now she has a definite goal to work towards and knows exactly how to do it, which should help her correct her mistakes and I'm sure she can pass her test
Thanks Pin for all the videos, passed this week with 1 fault - these videos really help for imagining situations that you might never come across during lessons
I've been passed 4 years now and I still watch these video's, they're so refreshing and keep me up to date. Another great video Pin!
I passed today at first attempt (with 8 minors). Just last week DVLA texted me a reminder and it had a statistics of only 51% pass rate for my centre. That drove up my anxiety! I had booked this test (July 2022) since middle of February. So the 5+ months of waiting, lots of hours of study and practise plus money spent on driving lessons and test car hire just meant one thing. I had to pass and I am super grateful I did. Just last week DVLA texted me a reminder and it had a statistics of only 51% pass rate for my centre. That drove up my anxiety! For those going for the test, the examiners are actually nicer and easier than your instructors make you believe; Plus the test time goes by faster than you think as well. Once you are in, breathe and drive confidently! Thanks Pin for all the videos. I have religiously watched 30+ of the mock tests and I must say they really helped me in the final weeks leading to my exam.
PS: I like to come for your mock, even though I have passed.
Just passed two days ago with 1 minor , your videos creakily helped info sink in and understand it more thanks!
even though i passed mine, i still watch these videos to hopefully learn something new :)

in all fairness to her first serious fault the sat nav did say keep right, i would’ve also done the same tbh … soo i can see why she did it
I cannot really argue there tbh xD
This a common issue with sat-navs, that people just rely on them without using their own judgement. I'm always a bit wary of them and tend to look around for road signs/markings as well.
It's an easy mistake for a novice but can become a bad habit over time if not addressed. I tend not to use my satnav unless somewhere totally unfamiliar and I'm on a time crunch. Going the wrong way isn't a fail in a test and isn't a big deal in real life either unless you're in a hurry. 😄
@@jakerockznoodles
Or when the satnav says the instructions again at like 500 yards away, that is when I would start to move into the right hand lane. If I cannot do that, I would just go the wrong way.
@@jakerockznoodles i don’t think she relied on it, it said keep right so she kept right it didn’t tell her she was turning right it just said keep right so i can understand why she did it 100%. sometimes i feel like we’re set up the fail because she followed the instructions. if i got told to keep right i wouldn’t assume i need to go back into the left hand lane and i’ve been driving for a while now

4:52 The Sat Nav said "Ahead Keep Right" and I think this was telling you not to get into the left lane ahead where the road expanded into three lanes as that lane becomes a left turn lane whereas you need to go straight on as shown on the road sign in the tree line.
Passed first time last week thank you for the videos ! 👍

I lived in the USA. It was in the late 90’s for me to passed the driving test. I did failed the first test by a couple points but, I did passed a month later. Luckily that I have the same lady from the DMV on both tests. She was very sweet and friendly towards me. She even did liked my vehicle that I had before the first test. I got my vehicle 2 months before the 2nd test. My 1st car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE. I was lucky to have drive a car that was easy to drive in. I’m glad to have my driver’s license over 22 years so far. It would be 23 years this mid December. My rule of thumb is always looked around other vehicles, signs, lights, and always wear your seatbelts in driving a car. Even Watch Canada Worst Drivers on RUclips.
To be fair to the learner, the satnav was misleading when it said to keep right. I think it should precede that instruction with a distance so the driver knows roughly when to change lanes. That said, awareness should also be on what the right hand lane is usually used for.
Well the dudes a bit of a dick
Atleast in the US and even UK i believe
You're allowed to be in whichever f*cking lane you please. The "passing" lane isn't a damn thing that's called exceeding the posted speed limit
Bless her she did well just mervous

10:36 would exiting into the left lane not be a lane discipline infringement? She seems to be towards the right as she goes through the roundabout, why would she then cut across to the left lane? Would it not be safer to stay in her lane and change lanes further on?
Since there’s only one lane turning right at the start of the roundabout, its perfectly fine and reasonable that she can exit to the left lane, since all other cars joining the roundabout has to wait until she has passed. Its the same thinking in sweden (all though i get what you mean and i never exit on to the ”right”, which is the same as the left in this situation.
Hi, your videos are really great and they really helped me out, unfortunately my driving instructor got hit by an idiot on an electric scooter and his car was taken off the road, i was on holiday and when i got back i only had 1 day to learn how to drive my mums car (which was petrol and ive only ever driven diesel) thankfully i passed though
Well done on passing your test, especially with the last minute switch
Parallel park
was so good considering I couldn't do it after soooooo many lessens.
Aren’t instructors teaching learners to use their handbrakes after stalling to help them to get the biting point in order to move off? It’s one of the things I was taught especially on a hill so the car doesn’t roll back if I don’t get the biting point whilst trying to move off again.
Love your instructions... Just having a bit of a meltdown trying to wrap my Canadian brain around watching you drive on the wrong side of the road! 😜 (jk) Great content.
The road design of UK is quite challenging 😥… pockets on intersection with no lines on the ground.
Dudeee the roads are ridiculously small in the UK! I can’t imagine being a learner driver there, especially with manual! Thankful for being in Australia 🤣
It makes driving sm harder. You meet with other cars in the opposite direction with parked cars on either side and on junctions ALL THE DAMN TIME
Feel u
US roads are not like this
Already passed on automatic, but want to take a manual test, is the waiting time the same as I heard you have to call DVLA to book a test.
It would be great if you made a video driving somewhere quiet barefoot in reverse for a long distance.
At 12.00 her signal is stating her intentions to drive off. This signal is unsafe and confusing. She didn't drive off
Right lane in advance is a good idea. It's only a fail if she isn't doing the speed so preventing the other drivers from progressing. You didn't mention her speed was wrong. Right lanes are for overtaking AND progressing and preparing for turning.
While traveling on a two-lane dual carriageway you should stay in the left-hand lane. Use the right-hand lane only for overtaking or when turning right. After overtaking, move back to the left-hand lane when it is safe to do so... She was turning right. Hence to use of the right lane in preparation
I legit did the same mistake twice in the same spot i panicked and ended uo turning inti the curb and slamming on the breaks
I passed my test on my 4th time, it doesn’t matter if you don’t get it 1st time, good luck if anyone has one soon you’ll smash it
Well done on passing your test!!

That is not a bad idea, in all honesty. I actually really like the forum idea.
What about her hand positioning on the steering wheel? Thought it had to be 10 and 2? She has one hand at 2 and one at the bottom sometimes even resting on leg its that low? And is crossing over hands okaay now too?
I would like to ask if the rules in the driving course is only for those in UK or other european countries like Finland can use it?
This is strictly for UK but the skills definitely translate between european nations. We predominantly learn to drive manual transmission vehicles
Love video
As a US driver these tight narrow roads scare me
It’s one of the reasons I delayed learning
how to drive here in the UK. But it has to be done. 😓
Where are you located l want to learn
Tbf I bet people with a license would still keep right, the satnav never told her how far away the right turn was and she didn’t know the area all she was told was to keep right, I find it pretty stupid that you can fail for staying in the right hand lane if you’re doing the speed limit you aren’t causing any danger, plus it’s better to get in the right hand lane too early then too late.
Some videos just make me nervous from both sides.
I dont know why I'm watching this. Passed my test in 1997. Still enjoyed the video tho

Just come back to this channel after quite a few months away - there are wayyyyyy too many textual and graphical messages throughout these videos now, to the point that they're distracting. It's like watching a video that has just ad placements everywhere... which is a shame, as the content was good, but this stuff just makes it harder to focus on the content.
she shouldn't have any issues on her test - just a few things to work on
Nah she needed more practice definitely according to this video. She didn't know how to yield to cars bruh
The first day I drove after passing my test, someone wrote my car off. Was confirmed there fault but it’s knocked my confidence. Any tips? :(
damn that's a regrettable scenario. Well considering that it wasn't your fault, I think it's best not to allow the accident to knock your confidence too much. Perhaps when you're ready to go back on the road, opt to drive on quiet roads to build back your confidence before going on the motorway.
Aww she did good 👍🏽
What kind of horrible narrow streets are these
No reason to look left over her shoulder when she is changing to the right lane
Nice, I've been on another lesson, got overtook by some moron in a van. I thought he came up too close and over took illegally so I gave him the bird.
Also I noticed at 08:12 a biker mounds the pavement
Tbh i don’t think you should be giving random drivers the bird. All it does is make other drivers angrier, which can cause dangerous driving. Illegal overtakes happen all the time, just ignore them and focus on yourself
Can anyone one answer this I done my test and got A minor and a major The minor was for driving too close to the car in front and the major was for A mirror check there was a bus lane on the left lane of a two lane and I indicated check my mirrors and went over to the left lane because the bus lane had ended that was no one in it and the car behind me copied what I did and he gave me a major because he said I didn’t check my mirror when indicating over is that right
I think you didn't follow the correct sequence i.e. the M.S.M (mirror, signal and manoeuvre). Always check your mirrors first and then when it's safe to do so, signal your intention to move and then move.
Just came to say, I passed the damn test.
Congratulations on passing your test
I feel like the mock tests are so short lately. We only had about 10 minutes of actual driving to watch here but we used to have about 30 minutes. Why is this?
