- SALSA CRUDA - Chef Gustavo Romero of Nixta and Oro restaurants in Minneapolis explains how to make this fresh, raw salsa that’s bursting with bold, vibrant flavors - just like the salsas you crave from your favorite taqueria. No cooking needed - just chop, mash, and mix your way to quick and easy salsa perfection.
RECIPE
Ingredients:
1/4 white onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped
3 serrano chiles, chopped
3 tomatillos, quartered
Juice of 1 lime
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Add garlic and onion to molcajete. Grind together into a rough paste.
Add serrano chiles and continue grinding.
Incorporate the tomatillos and mash until well combined.
Stir in the lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Finish by mixing in chopped cilantro.
Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
