    I love SCHG! It’s my largest growth holding in my portfolio. Currently up to 269 shares. Aiming for at least 300 by year’s end. Will likely exceed that goal.

    Would you have advice (or make a video) on buying multiple S&P 500 ETFs? For example, investing in an S&P 500 growth and S&P 500 value while also investing in a regular S&P 500 ETF? I can’t seem to find much info on this strategy.

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you Denton!
      Many of the ETFs focused on Growth or Value include, indeed, mostly S&P500 stocks. Above all when they are market cap weighted.
      Some ETFs are focused on picking growth or value exclusively from the 500 holdings of the S&P500, but are not necessarily the best. Are there some ETFs in particular that you have in mind?
      Because otherwise a good strategy is to combine the S&P500 with a growth ETF like QQQ and a value ETF like SCHD, VYM or VIG

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Nicolas, there is obviously overlap (around 50% of QQQ is included in SCHG), but having both could make sense if you want the power of QQQ but still want to raise diversification in the growth sector through SCHG

    You did part performance review. With low interest rates in last 2 decades, both ETFs did great.
    What would you think of next 2 decades?. How do these two ETFs will perform (accordingly to you)?

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you said it right. I do past performance because I can't predict the future, but here's my opinion:
      I expect the growth sector to strongly slow down in the next two years (possibly with a certain drop within the next 6 months).
      10 years from now, I believe both ETF will have performed in the decade better then the S&P 500. But that might not come true!
      And for a time frame of 20 years, i believe you can't be wrong with both etfs. I'm more confident.with growth than value in a long term horizon

    Rick what are your thoughts on my roth portfolio: 30% VTI 20% SCHD 20% VUG 20% QQQM 10% VGT. Should i swap my VUG for schg and what is the smartest way to do so? Sell all and lump sum or sell all and dollar cost average into schg? Thanks

    • @rick.austin
      @rick.austin  2 месяца назад

      Hey mate. Honestly? Swap VUG with VTI, as lump sum. You get 50% total stock market and you bring Growth to 30%, which is high enough. Don't overweight in technology or growth, there we are moving with P/E ratios that are irrational right now.
      Obviously consider tax implications when swapping. Hope it helps

      @@rick.austinyou’re saying to consider selling vug and lump summing it immediately into the vti position? If it’s a Roth account, wouldn’t that take care of the taxes as long as you don’t take the money out of the Roth and into a non Roth or bank account?

      @rick.austin  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Alexey, thank you so much for the compliment. Unfortunately I don't have direct access to SCHG being in Europe.
      I have to add that, while I like analyzing ETFs of various nature, I keep my personal portfolio pretty simple. For example an extreme portion of my portfolio is in the SP500 (yes, i'm boring). I made a video about my portfolio some 6 months ago, might do an update video.
      What about you? Do you have SCHG or VUG in yours?

      @@alexeyry.7350 honestly, in the long term you have a good probability it will be just like you say.
      I play it a little more conservatively because historically growth hasn't always outperformed - as a matter of fact, in the long long term value has outperformed growth - but times are changing and technology is becoming an integral part of every other industry or sector
