Nice Planer you have there. Well done!

Congratulations. I built my own shop up from nothing using the old machines from years gone by. Each machine has its own story and each is unique. You really can’t understand a machine until you’ve torn it down and put it back together. Fortunately most wood working machines are pretty simple. Hope you have a good relationship with your new partner.
Thank you for the comment. I also like to touch machines. I'm not good at it, but I think I should know the principle of the machine I use. Repair is a bonus. I think this planer maintenance is just the beginning. I think I'll have to do the flat polishing myself. It's too heavy, so do you think about shipping and processing costs? Thank you for watching again.
Wow that machine looks super heavy duty, very nice.

Very interessting video. Do you know whats the exact year of production and the modell name of the planer?
The segmented infeed-foller is a very nice feature...
I tried to know the production year, but I couldn't...Thank you for the comment.
Love to see restoration of two side planner and four side planner if you have we are interested in that.
thanks for the comment I'm still repairing the planer, so I'll upload it when it's finished. It is disassembled because it is currently being overhauled. Roller bearing and planer floor plane processing, etc...
Nice job
Good job. Did you look out for one with a segmental feed? It sounds nice. Where was it manufactured. Cheers Tony
I'm not sure what a segmental feed was. The machine is called Japanese taihei. Thanks for commenting and watching.
@Iron·Wood Segmental infeed rollers. These allow you to feed multiple pieces of varying thickness timber at once much more safely. Each feed roller is individually sprung. This feature is a lot safer in use than a single full width one piece infeed roller. There is less chance of kick back occurring. These machines are usually a lot more expensive to buy. You have a very nice machine. Cheers Tony
I understand what you are talking about. Four upper rollers and four lower rollers. Thank you for the additional comments.
I didn't see the wiring replaced. Did I miss that part? Or the blade sharpened...
The video is too long, so I cut it, so I don't think it's there. I'll upload a planer blade setting video in the next video.
Is it a 24 inch?, looks a solid machine
It is 23 inches. It weighs over 1.5 tons. It seems that I will have to work on the floor plane soon. Thank you for your comment.
what type of putty did you use?
Please use car repair putty. Thank you for your comment.
Paint is not all!! Whats about the plane shaft? Old flap or new spiral knife shaft??😅😅😅😅
The planer setting hadn't even started. It was painted because of rust. The floor plane polishing roller finish is required. Planer blades are better than expected.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Strictly superficial.
