Not to drift off subject but for boaters, I wonder what the bite is like in Buzzards Bay in the early AM while these numbers of fish are moving through? Do they travel on mass through the Bay or do they spread out and meander south?

+Mr00destruct0 I really could not answer this for you. I was a guest there and not to sure of their fishery. You can contact Al Gag on Facebook. He will have the answers for you.

They sound like they're on point. Stay close to the bottom, that's the strike zone, they're not pretty far; that's the secret. Know a bite from a rock, don't do a hook up on a rock, you'll get hung. If you feel that rock, just gently come across that rock and you won't lose as much lure as you would had; although you can't avoid getting hung up 100% of the time. I remember going out with 3 buddies one night, 1 guy wasn't as much a prideful fisherman as the other 2, he listened to how I told him how to fish; the other 2 didn't, too prideful to take notes from another fisherman. You guessed it, both him and I were pulling in fishes that night. The other two were running through their tackle box of lures and stressing out for bites or fishes. One guy midway that trip started casting across everyone, zig zagging and there came the tangles and spot stealing, hopping between others... they both skunk that night.

+Kraft T. Yeah it is a pretty cool fishery. It was my first time fishing up there.. Lots of fun but it was a dark night with the lunar eclipse..

Good info right there. From the best source, listen to your elders cause they been doing it longer. Love fishing the canal, it's hit or miss but when you hit it's big. Few more weeks the schoolies will be coming through followed by the big boys.
