I have been doing these exercises every since this video was posted and I can officially palm the ball now with my left hand. My grip has significantly improved on my right hand. I'm about to do these exercises again. I have been feeling my fingers gain great strength every day.
@@GetHandles appreciate it brother. Hard work and patience. Also I just palmed the basketball with my right hand right after doing another session of these exercises. This is genius. I wish I knew about this before my achilles tear that took place in June of 2017. I could Grab the rim and hang on it with 2 hands with ease, but couldn't dunk. So what I would i do was practice dunking small objects that I could palm. I dunked a leaf then i graduated to dunking a tennis ball, then a volleyball. The closest i ever got to dunking with a regulation size ball was i got my hand over the rim with ball and fumbled it in. I have fully recovered from the injury and I can still grab rim, but I can't get that extra light lift because my calf lost some of it's strength. My calves and thighs are really large so I knew once i recovered i would be able to regain a lot of what i lost by losing weight and doing the right exercises. Also I saw your vertical training exercises video. Great stuff.
Dude i just watched this video with long hands but cant hold a grip of the ball for a second, but now just after watching this I can hold the ball for like 4-5 seconds, will take me a little bit more work to actually grip the ball but this was game changing for me, thank you!
Soap and water is a very important aspect, especially if your ball is slippery. Once you wash your hands with soap and water then really dry them you can get a firm grip on the ball because your hands become sticky. I recommend drying your hands with a cloth or towel to get that sticky feel. These exercises should be a must for point guards. Don't necessarily do this to palm, but to develop that firm grip so you can maintain possession over the ball long enough to effectively scan the floor and make the pass you want to make and get where you need to get with the dribble.

Hey GHB, have you ever checked your Brighton Score. You seem to have hypermobility in your fingers especially when you bend all for fingers back 90 degrees. I know a bunch of people with it and it probably helps with palming and handles. Thanks for the vid super helpful. -H
Wow either you are really skinny or you have really big hands for your frame, either ways, amazing! Thank you so much for this video, it greatly helps!
It’s pretty sad that I’m 6’5, but my height gives me literally no advantage whatsoever, because my standing reach is very low for my height, and my hands are small so I can’t palm the ball
My height is 166cm tall and im turning 14 years old on june and my hand length is 6.7 inches and my handspan is exactly 8 inchesn (fully stretched out), i am left handed but i cant palm with my left and only my right because my right handspan is 8.268 inches and i noticed that my right hand thunb is much more flexible and can stretch further then my left hand. I can still palm with my left but way less and not as manuerable as my right hand.
Hey coach great video I am 16 years old I have 23.5 cm long hands How big are your hands coach Great stretching exercises for fingers exactly what I was looking for. Thanks coach 🙏🙏😀
I came to this video cause literally I did it for the first time but I did it for a long period of time and I haven’t been able to do it for about a week. Do I just need to stretch my hands or is something else happening?
It's about the hand size being 6'3" and having a 7 inch (18 cm) hand size how you gonna palm???? Did everything in my childhood to get bigger hands my everywhere grew instead of hands
Might not be palming it instantly. Like any other muscles, your hands and fingers take time to develop strength and flexibility. The reason you saw such a difference in my ability from beginning to end is because I can somewhat palm a ball, and this warmed up my hands enough to do it
him talking about all the perks in basketball that come with palming a ball: this will help when you’re passing, when you’re dribbling, when you’re shooting, especially for both hands me, a lesbian, wanting to show off big hands and grip strength: 🤔😱🤯
if we dont expect to play professionally, i do not know why we are using a basketball size (29.5") that is being used by average 6'6" players in the NBA. I say everybody should start playing with 27.5" basketballs and give ourselves a break.
@@madelainecedric7231 i can barely palm it in my left hand tho but do to my injury in 2018 its hard for me to do i fractured my left arm tho my dominant hand
@@madelainecedric7231 just only in my right hand i cant palm it tho it takes a lot of practice to do this and i dont khow if i still can but i have to try and work hard for it
Then play to your strength. If you practice a lot but still can't palm it, don't make it a disability to yourself. A lot of nba stars can't palm the ball so your not the only one.

I have the EXACT same problem..... The funniest thing is that after I palm the ball for too long I can't palm it for about 3 minutes lol

I followed the instructions, now my hands can definitely grip better.
Now, I only have to convince the ball to want to get gripped by them.
Love that "Step Brothers" reference at the beginning hahaha
