I would watch you and Peak doing anything! I love watching you two work 🥰 I’m so glad you talked about how hard it is to get a service dog, I am on a waitlist for a program dog and it’s so expensive and a long wait but I know it will be so worth it and truly change my life! Thank you for talking about this ❤️❤️

I absolutely love your videos! They are so pleasant, and your voice is really soft and easy to listen to. I’m new to the service dog community, and Kilo and I are a self-trained team.

Thank you for making a video for the awareness of getting a service dog. Also this is Ari that you spoke with. I love the bond you and Peak share. Thank you so much! Love you lots!

Awesome vlog! It’s nice watching what you and Peak do together! You both make a great team.
That’s so true, that the process can be a very tedious one to get a service dog. My Chiari 1 Malformation presented at age 13 more significantly, and I’ve been disabled since then (I’m 20 currently). Brain and spinal surgery did not help, and everything option after that was unsuccessful as well. I came across the idea of getting a service two years ago, originally thinking about an ESA for the times I’m bedridden. Although I haven’t mentioned it to my doctors yet, I’m considering asking if they would support the idea (though I’m worried, because they were always very abrasive with their treatments, which I was always developing side effects from or ended up being allergic to, and it almost caused me to have a bad breakdown from how stressful the process was. I’m not sure if they’d be open to the idea, since they’re somewhat old fashioned.)
I was hoping to talk to them much sooner, but I then was having ER visits and have had a lot of issues from my Unicornuate Uterus with Rudimentary Horn, which I now need a total hysterectomy for. But, I need to schedule an appointment with them anyways for support with my disability aid application. So, down the road from there, to not overwhelm them, I’ll consider asking them about if they’d support me having a service dog. We’ve exhausted all of our options, so I feel as though a service dog is worth a try.
But on the brighter side of things, my mom was just FHA loan approved, which means we’ll be able to move out and start the service dog obtaining process! The downside is that I’ll have to owner train, because programs in my area are uncomfortable with training for my condition (it’s rare, and impacts everything I do, and the symptoms are extensive and not very common). But, I have the support from my family, who want to help and provide me with the means of getting the service dog. I even practiced training with my cat before she passed away, as she used to respond naturally to my muscle spasms and was very intelligent and keen to learn (though she was limited at what she could do, given her small size and that she is a cat). It was oddly very successful, which really boosted my hopes! But, in the end, it helped me figure out a good approach, and gain more confidence that this is something I could do with the help of my family.

Is anyone aware if Ikea stores are pet/dog friendly? The one in my area seems to have a lot of small dogs especially, but there have been a couple danes in there as well. Since they sell food and furniture I thought they were service animal only but, you never know. Thank you for your time, person reading this. p.s. I have a service dog and want to know so I can advocate for me and my service dog, and any teams that might go there after us.

If you see a service dog handler irl, never ask them that question
