Hello Friendo! What a great video, I wonder where you got the idea of Ultersport Exhaust from ;) I know its typically a one time tool BUT you should get and always recommend an exhaust hanger removal tool!
@@CBRoadster definitely a great recommendation! Funny thing is I ordered the exact one you recommended but was too impatient to wait for it to arrive. I just wanted to get the project started! 🤣
@@SeanStettnichs Haha I feel it, i normally try to be prepared before starting a project but sometimes the cart is in front of the horse 🤣 Now you just need the same header as me and you'll be a lil kid in heaven driving yours. Drive safe my friend!
One of the first major mods that I did to my ND2 RF was install a GReddy SP Supreme axle-back exhaust. The stock muffler sounds like a sewing machine! The GReddy sounds deep and growly. It’s a bit louder now due to the HKS GT2 Supercharger, Skunk2 header and Magnaflow mid-pipe. I had considered the Ulter exhaust/diffuser but had already paid for the Mazda aero package ‘diffuser, so didn’t want to bin that.
@@craig8692 nice! Sounds like you have a very well-sorted setup! Don't blame you on not wanting to cut away the appearance package rear diffuser. I had a hard enough time deciding to cut the standard bumper cover! I'm very happy with the end result, though! 😃
@@flyers10az great question. No, there's not a heatshield on the stock side, so it was never a concern for me. In fact, the stock side has a lip that rolls inward whereas the left (new) side does not, so if anything there is less concern from a heatshield standpoint. Again, great question!
It's the "Rear Diffuser" that gets cut out. You did a really nice job...yes, patience is the key. What was your final cost with shipping? How do you like it now that you've had it on for a few weeks?
@@alangross2277 my final cost after shipping to Iowa was about $550. I thought that was very reasonable. I'm very happy with this exhaust and would buy it again in a heartbeat. It is 100% wife-approved. Can't hear it over the wind noise in my RF at cruising speed, yet it's more than the stock exhaust when I "want" to hear it. Definitely a deeper tone at low RPM especially. Hope this info helps!
Thank you for sharing this video. The finished job is awesome in profile look and sound. When shopping for my 2024 MX5 RF GT, two things are absolutely required. 1. Only red in color and 2, must have a quad exhaust tips. After three months of active delearship engagement and even wanting to "special" order the car, I went ahead and wrote a check for Soul Red RF without the quad exhaust tips. Mazda does not make them with quad tips according to the delearship. I was also told that any after sale mods would affect the warranty on the car. I wrote an out-the-door check for the car. This is my second two-seater car, the first a dark blue 62 MGB and my fourth convertible with a 65 Mustang the first. Also a T-Top Nissan Pulsar. So, what is the price range for the modification? Can or will the delearship do the mod? Is there a reputable garage in my area that would do the quality work like yours? Thank you and would appreciate your response.
@@federiconalos8202 thank you! I thought it turned out very well. I, too, really feel Mazda should have made these cars with quad tips from the factory. I also have an e46 BMW M3. I left the factory exhaust alone as it already looks great (quad tips). This project was a little intimidating at first since you have to cut the factory bumper cover (irreversible), but now that the job is done I can say it wasn't that difficult. Patience is key! My car is a 2020 with 42,000+ miles, so I wasn't concerned about the factory warranty. As far as your warranty goes, you can put the factory exhaust back on easily since this mod is axle-back only. The bumper cutout would still be there of course, but I can't see how that would have any impact on warranty work (if needed). I'm sure just about any local mechanic or exhaust shop would be able to complete this mod for you. Where are you located? My biggest worry about someone else doing the work would be how much time they spend on the bumper cutout. It might be expensive to have someone do it for you...OR worse yet, they might not make the cuts as clean. Mine isn't perfect, but it's very close to the OEM cutout. The exhaust in the video was about $550 shipped from Italy to Iowa. Exchange rates and your location will likely impact that price. I had shopped dual (or quad) exhausts a lot before buying this one, and it was definitely on the lower side in terms of cost compared to others. I hope this info helps! Good luck! 👍
thank you so much for your quick response. I'm in northeastern Florida, and my car is almost 3 months old with 293 miles. I envy the look of the quad exhaust tips on your car. Perfect alignment as far as I can see. This alignment will be the crucial concern. I will be showing your "how to" video to a garage owner and mechanic who is trustworthy and decide from there. Again, thank you so much for the video.
@@toyotabrony these are just the stock Bilsteins that come with the Clubs, 2019 GTS, or manual GT models (2020 or newer). I think they're great for stock suspension. Ride is really good for a sports car, but still stiff enough to have some fun. If you wanted to track the car I would invest in some quality aftermarket suspension.
@@SeanStettnichs mine is a 2015 lifted Scion xB. I prefer bilstein b6 for better handling and daily use. Same goes for Tacoma that 4600 are stock shocks. But it can also be as aftermarket. In a Scion xB category, the the monotube shocks are purely upgrade.
