you have to be lobotomized to believe this playing is “intelligent” and “artistic”. my cousin went to school at Hillsong in Sydney for worship drumming, you have NO idea how rigorously they train you to play every song exactly as recorded, down to the last ghost note. little man has zero room for expression or creativity, they snuff that shit right out of you till all you can think about is getting a little bit smoother and tighter to your click. the kid is a spectacular drummer, his playing is cleaner and tighter than most adults i come across. absolutely wasted on mass produced, formulaic, pandering garbage. worship music is genuinely on the same level as pop country in terms of originality and difficulty to execute
also, calling a kid “gifted” cause you think god is the reason he can hit those sick chops just discredits the amount of work he put in. you dont play like this cause of god, you play like this cause you spend hours every night hitting a rubber pad until it becomes as easy as breathing.

A man named Jesus died on the cross and when he died he went up to Heaven and became one with God so that God can gift us what we call the holy spirt to reside in every person who sees the truth, accepts the truth, and lives by the truth. I became the youths group drummer around 13 years old and I played for the worship team all the way into my 30s. God’s calling can be revealed when you are young! Keep on drumming little man! I played for a church in a small town when I went there on summer break from school to visit my great grandmother. She would always ask me when I first came, "Do you know if your name is written in the book?" And I would say "ONLY if the good Lord approves of me." I still have a lot of life to live and prove my worthiness to HIM!.

Man...i really want to put my god given talents for music on display for the lord!!! Ive got so deep into the wrong side of music and almost cost me my soul...all for a record deal...by The grace of god, all three bands that almost "made it" always ended up splitting up right as we got an offer.. I don't take that as a coincidence. Especially after 3 times that we have met with somebody and shook hands and everything. And then within the next couple of weeks, someone quits and everyone splits. God was definitely keeping me from the wicked industry!! Not to mention i survived a 12 year heroin and eventually meth addiction unscathed with all my teeth and skin still youthflooking at 33 years old now. I have definitely been blessed and never will take for granted this gift of life again! How do i go about trying out for a position in drumming, guitar bass or keys and/or singing?
