First thing I did when I got my Harley was get rid of the buck horns and installed a nice set of keystones as well as removed the rubber riser bushings and installed aluminum ones to stiffen the front end
The mirror reveal was bloody hilarious 😂😂😂 your neighbours definitely think you're crazier than mine think I am. They've taken to slamming the back door when I start videoing shit 😂 how would you make all bikes sound like that on decel tho. It reaaaally sounds amazing
Buckhorns are the perfect bars for long rides. And you can't go wrong with stainless steel socket heads. That was one of the first things I started replacing on my Virago and you're right, they're made of gold. You could probably cut the stems on those "LTR" mirrors and have them rethreaded at a machine shop.
For one moment I thought that chopper was going home with you! If there's any justice in the world the FXR will die the day after the XS Chop is finished
I was just given my grandfather's 86 harley davidson softail custom and it Is completely stock. The bike has bull bars as well and I agree it makes the bike look better.
I've run solid bushings for over 30 years. FXRs don't need the soft bushings since the drivetrain mounts handle the vibes and the more positive control is a plus. Those wanting something in-between can run urethane bushings for less slop.
Shadetree, my dad had a brand new 87 FXRS. Buckhorns came stock on it. For the time, they didn't look bad. Even back then people put drag bars on them. (T bars) You are lucky with only a two hour ride. Webster is a little better than four hours for me. Still haven't made it up there for the swap meet. I go through that area, when I go to the National Cemetery in Bushnell. Nice area to ride up there.
hey shadetree, you need to get some pb blaster on those rusted screws and bolts. just spray it on , let it sit for a minute or two and loosen away. if fastener is real stubborn, tap it with a a hammer and/or apply a little heat. it's miracle juice! you can get it at many autoparts stores
Love your shit bro! Especially the build series. Was wandering if we'll ever see the return of the lost KZ 1000? Was really interested to see that one. PEACE!!!!!
That fender leaves a gap over the tire when it was mounted new. My Dyna has that gap and my Sportster had that gap until i slotted the mounting holes and lowered it.
Hey fella, good to see you giving the 1340 some love. I am so jealous as down here in NZ parts are so overpriced due to scarcity & freight kills ebay. I have a lovely 1995 FXD & in all fairness I got most stuff I wanted as NOS. Looking forward to your bike's rebirth. Best....Dave.
Lol I had to take the same bolts off my bars this morning. Damn Harley torx are one time use. I had to cut three of them into flatheads just to get them off...
my Son has an 88 fxr and he has replaced the swing arm bushings and also aligned the swing arm. he says that is where speed wobble comes from. also the front motor mount frequently goes out on the fxr causing a lot of vibration in the bike. my Son says the best m. mounts are stock harley ones. drag specialties are cheaper but soon fail.
Mr. Surgeon- Another fun video! I'd suggest getting a small impact driver from the hardware store too as they help with stuck fasteners. I'm probably out of the loop, but can you mention what the 38 is about? Bob
I hate the buck horns. I’m replacing the ones on my fxr because there are ugly and uncomfortable. It’s your bike though so you do you and don’t let anyone tell you different
@Chuck Gladfelter Mini apes work for me-raked back a tad in the clamps (I'm 5' 9"") and I find the bar ends are at a comfortable angle, my bars are the stock Streetbob bars, I tried 4 sets and ended back at stock LOL.
Buckhorns! Way to go man. AND, you can actually see the instruments now too. just get some rattle can black on that fender now and it'll look passable from a (long) distance.
Hey great video love the old FXR! can you remember where you got them gloves your wearing! they look kinda old and beaten up but look ideal for the hot climate were having in Cyprus right now and the army detail on them is kinda cool! I am hoping you had from new and can maybe send me a link to what make they are? Ride Safe!
Hey Shadetree, nice touch to the FXR. BTW, the last time I was in Florida I went to sailfish brewing company in Fort Pierce, check them out if you ever go down that way, the beer is great, and they have good pizza.
Josh, Yep, buckhorns are the “shit” ! Got’m on my Roadster along with my “Live to Ride” batt.cover ! Dig the “crustyglide” sticker a lot, another job well done brother ! Kevin
I've always liked Flanders #1 and #2 bars. Those bars are pricey as hell, but the bends are just right and the chrome is choice. Those bars are wide for control and comfort.
Nice bars there !! you shoud have stick with the regular mount for the mirrors and bent up its bars to narow the profile , just put them on the vise and turn them up and copy it on the other mirror . keep it weird!!!!
I dont know what was more funny, the tow mirrors or Forest Whitiker eye.
I died on both.
The Whitiker eyeball, hah 🤣 LMAO!
Cant stop laughing!
Towing with Forrest Whittaker eye
The buckhorns rock!!! Looks great.
I really appreciate you taking another set of T-bars off the road, they must be stopped!
Meh. Let people rock what they like.
Buck Horns are the most comfortable bars ever, I do agree.
“Forest Whitaker looking mirrors” absolutely destroyed me. 👍🏼 👏👏👏 😎
Dude, I love your idea for an community motorcycle shop. I really hope that dream comes true for you.
his reaction to the mirrors is gold hahaha
It's like a rat rod that just gave up on itself and got a coupon for old country buffet.
I love it.
Love the Tetanus-Tourer episodes
It's amazing what a simple mod like new handlebars can do for the entire feel of a bike.
Those huge mirrors were hysterical!!! LIVE TO RIDE BABY!!
First thing I did when I got my Harley was get rid of the buck horns and installed a nice set of keystones as well as removed the rubber riser bushings and installed aluminum ones to stiffen the front end
The sound of the decell on the throttle sounds killer brother
my fav bars , runnin them for over a decade, luvin your chl. keep it up
HELL YEAH! FXR, live to ride mirrors, you now qualify as a real biker! Great vid as usual, cheers.
I tuned my buckhorns up so my arms are almost straight its a little strange looking but really comfortable.
I did the same thing to mine......it puts your wrist at better position
@@knockoutcustoms7477 i agree
We have the California club style that’s really played out now.
Introducing the Florida Shadetree style! Much better!
The first shot of those mirrors had me rolling laughing 😂
When it looks so lame that Shadetree won’t even do it, you know it’s bad!
😂😂👌🏼👍🏾
The mirror reveal was bloody hilarious 😂😂😂 your neighbours definitely think you're crazier than mine think I am. They've taken to slamming the back door when I start videoing shit 😂 how would you make all bikes sound like that on decel tho. It reaaaally sounds amazing

I tried t-bars, and went back to buck horns after 1 day. Comfort is more important.
Doing great love the honisty and showing the highs and lows good stuff keep rolling.....
Forrest Whitaker eye! Lol.
For one moment I thought that chopper was going home with you! If there's any justice in the world the FXR will die the day after the XS Chop is finished
Oh shit I wish, I ain’t got pan head money haha
Looking forward to more of the FXR as I just bought a '90 FXR today from a good friend of mine that was in a bind
I was just given my grandfather's 86 harley davidson softail custom and it Is completely stock. The bike has bull bars as well and I agree it makes the bike look better.

Love the mirrors. That last place, a little yuppy! Back to a better dump. Love your videos!

Dude, those mirrors are the icing on the cake!!! 🤣👌🏼
I was literally laughing out loud when you put on thoes mirrors
Buckhorns a great choice very comfortable even if I never had them on one of my bikes I rode a few scooters with them.
I coulda saved you five bucks and the goofy mounts on the mirrors. I have a set of short stem LTR mirrors rusting to a nice patina in my garage 😆
Same here
I am stoked you are out riding motorcycles no mater the brand, just go have fun with it and keep up the good work!
Love your shit bro! Especially the build series. Was wandering if we'll ever see the return of the lost KZ 1000? Was really interested to see that one. PEACE!!!!!
I'd like to see it as well. I've got a kz650
😂, the second I seen the graphic flames, I thought something like they mirrors was coming 😂. Great entertainment as always man. L&R
Oh I got even more planned 😂
Looking forward to it man. Take that stereotype to a whole new level 😂🤣😂
First thing I did when I got my '84 FXRS was to install the factory buck horns!
Shadetree Surgeon I like the Buckhorns they look good. The mirrors look good, just a little tweaking. I like where you’re going with the FXR.
Dude there should be some holes on the controls to mount those mirrors on just saying. I have a 1990 fxr.Love your videos man!
Thanks again for letting me design a sticker for ya bud those buckhorns look nice!
That fender leaves a gap over the tire when it was mounted new. My Dyna has that gap and my Sportster had that gap until i slotted the mounting holes and lowered it.
Almost had the pinky out while drinking that vanilla beer. 😂
Reckless pinky!
@@shadetreesurgeon classy! We may have to get a Tux tee shirt for real elegance.
My 90 FXRS LOWRIDER has the same problem with the false neutral between 4th and 5th
Always like the bar and brewery tours.
Best....Dave.
those mirrors gave me quite a belly laugh, great vid
I love Buckhorns! And if I am right, the Black Death III bike from Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man was an 89 FXR
Lol I had to take the same bolts off my bars this morning. Damn Harley torx are one time use. I had to cut three of them into flatheads just to get them off...
Love the buckhorns. That's what I'm rocking on my mighty ... er .. Yamaha 250 cruiser .... But they're comfortable and I love them!
my Son has an 88 fxr and he has replaced the swing arm bushings and also aligned the swing arm. he says that is where speed wobble comes from. also the front motor mount frequently goes out on the fxr causing a lot of vibration in the bike. my Son says the best m. mounts are stock harley ones. drag specialties are cheaper but soon fail.
Ooh my lanta that pan is fucking sick
That’s actually looking pretty good man!
That fender for 39mm front end 35mm is steped around the lower sliders
Buckhorns are a great choice.
The mirrors had me cracking up! Almost dumped my Bowl !
I could see you doing a cameo appearance on Mayans MC. That could use the ratings.
I'm not sure but I might have a set of buckhorns rusting away in the garage... Those ltr mirrors are for sure the shining star of the bike lmao
That “HEEEELLLLLLLL YEAHHHHH” kills me every time 😂😂😂😂😂
Mr. Surgeon- Another fun video! I'd suggest getting a small impact driver from the hardware store too as they help with stuck fasteners. I'm probably out of the loop, but can you mention what the 38 is about? Bob
the mirrors made me laugh so hard - tears
I like all your beginning pop ups lol
Those handlebars are vastly superior. Looks good.
I love it! Are those mirrors different sizes, or was that the camera angle?
I hate the buck horns. I’m replacing the ones on my fxr because there are ugly and uncomfortable. It’s your bike though so you do you and don’t let anyone tell you different

The Forest Whitaker eye definitely made me laugh 😂
I need that hand controls hardware for my 04 fxd
The Buckhorn do rock.Sweet brother
Actually love the buck horns on the bike with the mirrors👌🤘
Cracked me up with the Forest Whitiker.
Love your videos, but I have to say I can't wait for your next dirt bike vid!!
Forest Whitaker Eyes...
Subscribed!! 🤣👍
Buckhorns! Way to go man. AND, you can actually see the instruments now too. just get some rattle can black on that fender now and it'll look passable from a (long) distance.
Looks good!
OH HELL YEAH! Live to ride 😁 Only on a REAL BIKERS BIKE 😅😂. That's awesome dude
Buck Horns remind me of the V65 & V45 Magnas! which probably makes sense given the era of your FXR!
You need to get screw extractors for those tuff screws. They work 90% of the time.
Hey great video love the old FXR! can you remember where you got them gloves your wearing! they look kinda old and beaten up but look ideal for the hot climate were having in Cyprus right now and the army detail on them is kinda cool! I actually have one of their beers on tap st the shame right now!
Supperbbb Bar it is. Loved it !!!!
Forest Whitiker eye.... priceless.. What are your ideas for the Harley Future Rebuild?
I dig the fxr
My dad passed away and I have his fxr police special and I can't get it to turn on do you have any tips for wiring?
Josh,
Yep, buckhorns are the “shit” ! Got’m on my Roadster along with my “Live to Ride” batt.cover !
Dig the “crustyglide” sticker a lot, another job well done brother !
Kevin
Great bars and Forest Whitaker mirrors 😂😂
Forest Whitaker eye 😂😂😂😂😂😂
YEAH!!! My bike came with a live to ride gas cap and air cleaner insert.
I've always liked Flanders #1 and #2 bars. Those bars are pricey as hell, but the bends are just right and the chrome is choice. Those bars are wide for control and comfort.
"The cherry on the cake. Hell yeah." I watched that part way too many times to still be laughing at it.
Okay the FXR is awesome but let's talk about that Fig and Prosciutto plate that they have....now that is Video Worthy LOL
like the buck horns
Hilarious love them mirrors you towing a caravan 🤣
I love how your intro is you coughing after taking a dab
Cut up a few beer cans and make a free bushing!
They got some righteous skeeters in Webster Florida.
Your styling now I like em too.
No clutch lever at the swap meet?
So how do I get those bars you took off the FXR?
solid bushings for bars
Nice bars there !! you shoud have stick with the regular mount for the mirrors and bent up its bars to narow the profile , just put them on the vise and turn them up and copy it on the other mirror . keep it weird!!!!
