The US cajoled Zelensky to go to war against Russia AND HE FELL FOR IT.
Once the war started, Zelensky dreamt NATO will join in but instead the US, NATO and other allies of the West were clapping and urging Zelensky from the sidelines like the crowd in a race. Today the US support is fast fading and Zelensky is left to carry the can !!
Zelensky would now realize that he should have withdrawn Ukraine's plan from joining NATO and stuck to diplomacy to allay any fears that Russia may have of Ukraine creating security risks for them should they join EU.
Not only is Ukraine on the verge of losing the war but they will also find it difficult to rebuild their nation ...who has deep pockets to pay for it ?

With iron fist and heart of stone,
Dictator claims a throne, not his own.
    Fear becomes the ruler's decree,

Would I rather vote in an election where the only viable candidate is the one who I believe is the best person to be president (Putin),or in an election where neither candidate are qualified to be president (Biden vs Trump)? Which system is truly democratic? That is the question.

@@surajtomar4870 Thanks for your comment. I don't know enough about Russian politics to start debating the issue you raised. My point simply is that it's no good having to choose between two bad candidates. Elections per se doesn't make a political system democratic. A minimum condition is that the political system actually gives everyone a broadly equal say in how their lives are governed, and even a "single candidate political system" can deliver that outcome. We shouldn't be so fixated by elections per se, what matters is the quality of the candidates who stand for elections.

Surely the results are questionable. But he is not surely an unpopular leader. Each country has its own system of governance . Western system of democracy may not be suitable nor ideal for all countries. For instance Arab nations follows a sort of Tribal elections where head of large families negotiate- not elect , and decide their leader. If democracy is adapted then there will be only anarchy. You can see what happened in Libya Iraq etc. The most important thing to worry now is the destruction of democracy and anarchy that’s happening in US now.

I disagree with most, if not all your analysis here. This election was highly representative, free and fair even more than elections in the United States. Just like in a country, opposition needs to meet certain requirements before they could stand for the highest seat of the land. In Russia all sane people who know Putin and his achievement in Russia supports him and the West always chooses incompetent and unqualified candidates just to contest Putin. So it's not a surprise that these people don't qualify. Those who qualifies stood for the election. Again Russia needs stability with an experienced person to steer their affairs in the face off the current situation where the West have long been working to destroy and loot Russia. It's naive to say Putin is just hungry for power. He loves his country and he knows what's at stake unlike some Russians who are willing to work for the West for their personal gain .

The EU mission’s findings confirm an earlier report issued by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the international association whose monitors were in Georgia when the fighting broke out. Issued in late 2008, the OSCE report also flatly contradicted the Georgian and US accounts of the war.
The OSCE concluded that the conflict began in the early hours of August 8 when Georgian troops-trained and equipped by the US-shelled and fired rockets at Russian forces and civilian areas in Tskhinvali, “exposing civilians, Russian peacekeepers and unarmed monitors to harm.”
