Someone once called me a stupid ass for not knowing a trick question and it pissed me off even though I got it the first 3 times. She still thought I was stupid for not knowing it the first time. TRICK questions were meant to confuse ppl and it doesn't make someone stupid for not knowing them. Those ppl who didn't get it are probably smart just like the ppl who did get it. that's the problem with languages that have such a prominent discrepancy between the written and the spoken version of the words. and guess what: i have the feeling this radiates also into the thinking. to my mind, there is a detachment for native english speakers between what they think and say or want to say respectively. it may even affect the way you can do philosophy.
