Big grats on the fast, the feeling can be addictive. Love you videos, thanks again for the razors! Can't believe how easy it was to shave with them. Best wishes
@@dalestevens8322 Cheers Dale, are be doing some more 48's to explore it a bit. Was a nice little challenge definitely felt good doing it and pretty nimble. Next day was good also.. Like I mentioned I've been fasting for years, a 48 is not something to just jump into. You've done great bud but I knew you would, it's in us all and if your determined like you are I find it comes naturally, when you go into something positively and marry that with enthusiasm things tend to go smoothly or at the very least fun..
@@seanstapelfeld Cheers bud, she sure is a corker.. Mixer of everything the grind, the scales, the metal. Like I mentioned in the video even the bottom jimps add to it, they are some of the finest I've ever seen, make for a super grippy hold.. Have a good rest of the week.
Such a clean looking razor , minty. Possibly, the company went for a harder temper than other Sheffield makers . You've been very busy ! I need a proper organiser drawer . The Bulgarian bandit look soon went , Buttery shave , nice 🎉.
@@Martins-Shaves123 Sure is Martin a joy to use and was fun getting it back into its full pomp again.. Yeah that's it not all Sheffield makers made softer steel, all the Geo I.XL 's I've had just to name one Sheffield maker have been super hard and great steel. I ordered two sets of 10 draws, my razors have spread to far and wide and it's been doing my head right in.. Now I'll be able to put my particular stone in with the razors that are at that stage and be all in one place. Trays here trays there, scales in boxes, will all be together so I can be more efficient. When I sat down and wrote all my different stages or possible procedures I counted 18 so I've got 20 draws coming. I'll do a little video when I've got it set up, might help some one else,lol.. Yeah in a few waves of the mighty straight the hobo look is soon gone & very satisfying to say the least. After all's these years shaving with one I still get that good feeling of cutting Alway all my whiskers.. Have a good rest of the week Martin. 👍
I have one that might have been made around the same time; Brookes&Crookes. Though the grind is different, maybe a quarter hallow, but your describing the steel and how it looks is so similar. And man, does it take an edge. That is what I just got as well, a slow wet grinder, and it has been a game changer. Thanks for sharing.
@@nonamebear1136 The best period of steel some would say before any of the great wars. I started working on the other John blyde last night and it's going to take many a lap as it was bread knifed, worth it though be nice to have a 2 piece set. I've had mine years they are great for razor work can't harm the temper with them just very slow going. I found a near NOS red point razor that's got a badly chipped toe so that's on there next. Thanks for commenting. 👍

@@Sustainashave Will you consider making a video of you refurbishing a razor?
@@nonamebear1136 Yeah what kinda things did you want me to do? I'm going to do a re-scale showing my peening setup, that's planned at least..
@@SustainashaveThat sounds great. I am always interested in learning others process, I always learn something from them.
