    Hey man I have a doubt.. Need your help.
    I am doing dynamic meshing.. Similar setup in 3D.
    First doubt - That Rotate UDF you used is written by you or was it predefined?
    2nd
    Request - Can u share the UDF used.. I want to know the functions, i think my udf should be almost right, your udf would be a great example to me.

    Hello sir,
    I tried to come to a conclusion by means of your method 6DOF. However, it seems that something went wrong due to the float point when I adapt my modelling to your steps.

    Hi Viraj. Excellent video. I'm having trouble making the connection between the meshes: Not being able to select the contact edges. I made a similar (and simpler) version of this turbine on DesignModeler, making two different parts, and using the surface-from-sketch concept.
    1. The model tree shows three extrusions. are these solid plates with little thickness, or are they surfaces?
    2. in case they are surfaces, how were you able to select the contact edges? They overlap for me.
    Could you please have a look at my problem? Do tell how to contact you.

    • @virajgandhi3121
      @virajgandhi3121  6 лет назад

      If you have used surface-from-sketch, it must be surface only.
      If they overlaps, you can hide one body/surface then select the edge you want.
      To contact me message me on RUclips itself.

    Hello,
    I am working on the numerical simulation tridimentional of two-phase flows around a Savonuis rotor with Ansys fluent (VOF method), in fact I created two domains, a fixed domain and a rotating domain containing the rotor, I chose the sliding mesh method and I imposed a rotational speed for the rotating domain in cell zone conditions , in this context, I noticed after the calculation that the jet of water coming out of the penstock does not strike the rotor to turn it and the rotating domain does not turn and both interfaces block the water to turn the rotor and that the rotor rotates with the air before the jet of water strikes it and I got unrealistic values of epsilon, What can I do please? and thank you in advance.

  • @sriharimenon7502

    Hi again Viraj. I messaged you with links to the .wbpj file, but didn't hear back from you, but that's alright. I just want to know how to make the mesh connection. I'll elaborate what I did. I made a similar (and simpler) geometry on DesignModeler: I sketched the surrounding, then using 'create surface from sketch' concept, created the 2D surface. I then switched it from 'add material' to 'add frozen'. That finished my surrounding. Then I made a new plane (coplanar with the original plane) and sketched the inner on this new plane, and repeated the whole process. In the end, I had two bodies and two parts (merging the two parts into one part isn't helping me). In meshing, I deleted all other automatically generated connections, and selected the edges like in 3:23 in your video. I realized something may not be right when the 'advanced' section didn't come up in "bonded" details. It said it made the connection, but the simulations never work because the inner mesh moves independent of the outer domain, suggesting the meshes may never have been connected. I think I've made a mistake in geometry design (either that or I'm not meshing correctly). Kindly tell what may be wrong. Thanks!

    • @virajgandhi3121
      @virajgandhi3121  6 лет назад

      You did not subtract 2nd body from 1st body. I think you should this process:
      Make surrounding. [Same way you did] [Don't freeze] [Body 1]
      Make your internals or turbine [same way you did] [Body 2]
      subtract body 2 from body 1 [don't preserve body]
      create another circle sketch inside surrounding enclosing turbine
      use split face from edge method.
      Now you should have same geometry I have in here.
      Let me know what happened.

    Hey bro...
    I need your help in my work.
    Please do let me know on how to give both SLIDING MESH AND DYNAMIC MESH in a project?
    That means, my turbine has to run both by the motor RPM and also with the force by the water flow.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Will be expecting your valuable response in this concern.

      Create a named section in DM or meshing tool. Then in fluent, go to "reports" and from surface reports, you should be able to see it.

    • @ewentry

      Reduce the time step let's say your step is 0.01 s then you should make it 0.001. Floating point error is mostly due to wrong boundary conditions. Check your settings.
