The 737 also has GPWS which was active telling them that they were descending off of the approach. When you can't see anything in front of you, you tend to get disoriented. Couple that with poorly trained pilots or pilots who think they know better than their instruments, then you get this. A competent pilot and ALL pilots should know and be proficient in flying with only looking at the instruments.
@@Blakezilla594 even good pilots need to be able to see through the window not just instruments, you can mis-judge where to land if you cant see the runway, instruments are mainly secondary stuff for flying, when you cant see too well in front of you ,you have no choice but to contact atc tower so they can say where about they are to the runway and then that's where instruments come in as the atc tower will say the altitude etc

An air crash is an air crash, people die planes get destroyed.
As soon as one of the crew doesn’t know where they are. They should immediately discontinue and climb to the minimum safe altitude. I don’t understand how these accidents happen. It’s literally drilled into you when you start IFR training. How can an experienced flight crew fail to conduct a missed approach.
When I was playing Microsoft flight simulator in VR I came across a really bad storm and I couldn't tell if I was going up or down but then I just had to take a look at my thingy I don't know what it's called forgive me and I could see that I was going down instead of up I too agree how it's kind of hard with a lot of training to not remember these types of things guys lucky he didn't die considering you got full front force into the ocean

@@walkingredflag1 it’s easy for a plane to just climb up because it’s designed to.. trains usually travel in straight lines with shallow curves because they don’t need to take sharp turns
@@walkingredflag1 The crew should be monitoring their flight instrumentation though to avoid a deviation off of the approach. The 737 also has GPWS which was active telling them that they were descending off of the approach. I get what you’re saying about descent rate but if that was the case and you were monitoring instruments, an aircraft even of that size is still capable of fast changes in descent rate and could climb out of a dangerous situation (unless of mechanical failure). Unfortunately most of the time it’s human error that causes CFIT (Controlled flight into terrain) or in this case, the ocean.
@@TheDivineCallingofJesusChrist What you’re describing is a basic skill that every pilot from day one learns and never forgets 👍 If you’re operating in cloud, monitoring of flight instruments and cross checking them against each other is key to maintaining situational awareness. Multiple systems would have to fail at the same time to produce a situation that a well trained pilot couldn’t identify.

It would be kinda cool to scuba dive down there.
At last recover the dead person if not already done so he can have a proper burial. Rip.
@@Echristoffe I think they already did that
Yesss!!
@@Echristoffe they most likely recovered the body with them as they rescued the people. Left them for last of course but as long as it didn’t sink quickly they can be retrieved.
That's what he said
I'm going in a trip in 2 days and boy am I glad it's a road trip. This is so scary and I feel so bad for the person who passed and all his loved ones. Rest in peace.🌹
Statistically, your road trip has a better chance at killing you than a plane ride. That being said, I like having control over my car. I couldn’t imagine falling out of the sky while being stuck in a seat all because the pilots were negligent! I’ll stick to driving everytime too ✌️
Ikr imagine being that one person out of everyone losing your life very sad
i have been scared of planes all my life, i’m 20 and just took my first flight. i LOVED it. it’s really not bad, you don’t get that roller coaster feeling or anything
You are so much more likely to get into a car crash than a plane crash
I think I would trust 2 trained airplane pilots in a plane more than I would a few thousand strangers each steering their own car
Thank God all passengers are ok..🙏🙏r.i.p. to the person who lost his life
Carry on luggage may have necessary life saving medication like insulin in it.
Doesn't matter, I'm getting you off that plane. I'm a firefighter so I know full well that help is coming with everything you need and this is just an excuse to grab your shit and that's not happening with people like me on that plane. Nope, I'm legally obligated to see you rescued and I'm not at all obligated to be nice about it
@Celery Race they bring stuff like that to accident scenes.... Wikipedia PhDs like you get people killed and slow down rescue operations because you THINK you know all but we already planned for that in our response framework. even if I'm a passenger on that plane, I can start implementing that response framework and directly integrate with the rescuers once they're on scene. Until they get there it's my scene and you'll do what your told. See there will be other people there who will recognize what I'm doing and they will back me up 100% including the crew because after accidents like that happen they're trained to identify people like myself
@@roguespearsf I disagree. There are multiple kinds of insulin’s and multiple forms of delivery. Knowing you have exactly what you need is vital to staying out of a coma
@Celery Race Amen! I commented the same before I saw your comment. People don’t understand that you need your specific insulin or other medications especially when you’re under this kind of stress and your body is going to produce adrenalin which will raise your glucose dangerously high or the reverse of that is you’ve burned so much energy that you also need the food in that pack, which is as vital as insulin. Thank you for being acutely aware. I just hope the naysayer isn’t around when I need my bag of life saving supplies.
@Celery Race people are foolishly unaware. I applaud your comment!
The way he is dead serious and completely composed when he says “landed 15,000 feet short of a runway” made me die
🤣🤣🤣 💯 why not just say "almost 3 miles/4.5 kilometers"
Was he supposed to be screaming? Wdym 🤡
3 miles is extremely short. A couple thousand feet is understandable, but THREE MILES?!! How did the aircrew mess up this badly? The sink rate alert makes me think microburst.
@@marklindsey1995 15000ft for a Boeing 737 is about 1 minute of distance at landing speeds.
@@hossainayon9588 are you slow lmao
The person who died didn't fasten his seatbelt, and died of injuries due to the hard landing. He probably would have survived if he had the right reflex. But the responsibility has to be shared between the company and crew and himself for his death.
That’s completely false stop making shit up first of all he grabbed a kid life vest and not a adult on and it couldn’t hold him up and second if he didn’t have his seatbelt on the plane softly touched the water it didn’t dive head first in so there’s no type of impaction that can kill a human being
@@beware8937 I'm just stating the results of the inquiry... They found no trauma on his waist, indicating that he was not fastened during the landing. Also, if the impact was smooth, we'd have a Hudson River all over again, with people calmly waiting on the wings. Instead, the fuselage was cracked, and the evacuation required for seals to get in to bring people out, because they weren't able to.
@@ambergris5705 of course things are gonna be different u don’t know what to expect yes it’s gonna flood and yes it’s gone trap doors and Windows but it was a very smooth landing over all and almost 0% impaction
@@beware8937 bro.. planes dont land on water "SOFTLY" lol your uneducated in this matter. To be exact this is ocean water with waves so that makes it worse.
@@beware8937 Based off of your comment I can tell you either
1. Are a small child
2. Know absolutely nothing about aviation
Or a combination of the two. Almost everything you said is wrong, and I have no idea why people like you go out of your way to comment shit that has no actual base, it’s not funny and it doesn’t make you look smart, it’s just really damaging.
Also, you used the word “impactation”. Believe it or not, that made you look about 10 times stupider, not like you have a wide vocabulary.

People say they remember him getting out of the plane but his body was found near the crash by rescue divers. So he either died immediately after exiting or (as often happens with eye witness reports) the other people THOUGHT they saw him get off when really he didnt
Probably saw his body floating around and thought he was swimming
I'm confused as to why these two statements don't line up for you.
creepy
What would really suck, is surviving the initial crash only to die immediately after getting out of the wreck. May their soul Rest In Peace 🙏
They found his body on the plane.
He apppears to have landed a bit short of the runway
Ha yesssss
Just a bit
its ok, according to x plane 11, he can just float back to shore. the water is only 3 ft deep anyway.
2.8 miles isnt as far as you think in the context of flight

“Don’t worry about your carry on because you’re slowing them down”
Says the man who obviously doesn’t use inhalers , insulin, or other medications you must carry at all times that are necessary for life
Most of the times you are able to get those kind of stuff right away
@@mark3rcat you realize you need an inhaler the second you need it right? Not an hour later.
As someone with lung disease and asthma I have few different medications and inhalers and the second I need them I have to use them. I use them daily and I surely be that person with carry on.
I think you'll get a pass for holding on to them :)
I usually keep a few days of my meds in a pouch that I can easily grab if this kinda thing happens. Doubt I'll ever need it for an airplane landing on water, but I feel a lot safer having it.
You won’t die if you miss an insulin dose
Worrying how many people in the comments are saying they would stop to take their luggage, look at Aeroflot flight 1492 where people died unnecessarily because of other people being selfish.
I damn sure can't drink all of that water, I'll buy some Gucci boots! Let me off this sum'bitch 🤣
@Daniel wouldn't blame you. Greed is an ugly thing.
Ummm excuse me. But if the plane crash lands or ditches in the ocian. And i take my personal bag and someone dies. It’s not my fault! It’s the pilot’s fault or the fault of the plane. Also! You don’t know why people take there belongings, there whole life might be in that one bag and it might be worth the risk to them. Don’t be judging until you’ve been there.

Can’t, I’m not dead
@ッGalacthicc yeah they died of old age on the plane
Except it wasn’t an emergency water landing, they fell short of the runway and.
I saw somewhere that they did survive the landing, but in the confusion of being evacuated they fell overboard of one of the boats and drowned due to not being able to swim. It might be wrong though, I only saw it in the comments here.
