Stephen Pistoia I think you’re going to enjoy that detector. It’s a great one ! As far as my favorite setting I tend to lean towards no discrimination and full tones. Adjust the sensitivity as necessary to run stable then take it from there. You’ll soon find your favorite settings. It’s a great machine. Enjoy that detector !
I think e series and dfx, are basically same might be some minor changes in software?? I have a v3i and I know the v3 was basically a v3i lacking some software updates, so when they came out with the v3i they discontinued the v3 and offered free upgrade for like 3 years. the vx3 is the low end v3i with several features cut down off it. v3i is a lot better than a dfx but the dfx is no slouch.
I found that Quarter in the photo.... lol . That day I was looking for gold, I may have run across a coin or two. Thanks for watching ! Best of luck in all you do ! CDTR
lol yep i usually dig everything except the iron targets and i sometimes dig some of those depends on the signal i am getting i found a silver ring but was getting a multiple signal going on there were nails and pull tabs all in the same hole with the ring it was an old back porch spot of a house they had demo'ed same site found 2 plastic jars full of pennies buried just under surface it was a nice day best to you too
No they are not, the XLT runs at 6.5 KHz and the DFX is a multifrequency detector that can also run at one of two single frequencies: 3 kHz and 15 kHz.
So, so wrong my friend. Just because they look alike doesn't mean they're the same machine. Read the response above to your other comment in this thread, where you said basically the same thing.
Whites DFX is a phenomenal machine and a lot of fun to use. It runs a lot different than the XP Deus and the Minelab Equinox. I meant no disrespect for sure. Thanks for watching and happy hunting! CDTR
Hi, what brand pinpointed is that? Does it have to cost an arm and a leg, or will a 25-35.00 one work?
Cool just received this machine. What’s your favorite setting? 😃

Only real difference between the DFX and the DFX300 is the 300 mm / 12 inch spider coil.
The DFX came with the concentric 950 coil, 9.5 inch coil.
same with MXT :) I scored a mxt from a dealer for $300 3 years ago.
So if I buy the spider coil for my dfx, I would have a dfx 300 .
what is the difference between a dfx and a dfx e series?

Eclipse DD Deep Scan with mine I got the coil he has but I never use it.
I bought the DFX300 and still use it. I quickly dumped the 300mm coil and have exclusively used a 10" DD coil.
Dfx 300 was my first detector. Still have it. Still a great machine. Happy hunting
welcome to the world of metal detecting.

spectrum XLT and whatever you call DFX is the same machine

Absolutely wrong, as stated and explained very well by the other commenter.
Lord of the pull tabs lol
*Bows*
Thanks for watching!
Certain Discovery TR
That's the guys who find the gold rings too.
this is a copy of the spectrum XLT

100 pull/square tabs = 1 gold ring
to say this is just a plain DFX is really not paying to much respect to the people who have created this detector it is turn on and go for dummies
