@@frostykitties2050I’ll take the humidity anyday all day in winter. The dry dry cold in the west makes you feel dry, stuffy, and uncomfortable all the time. Like waking up in the morning, feeling like a stiff and stuffy nose and ichy lol. Needless to say, if you live here and don’t have a humidifier, you will suffer lol. But the rollercoaster weather can be rough too, we just don’t get much over here in the west during weather/climate patterns like we’ve had lately.

Central Arkansas here. It was nice to have rain on and off yesterday, but my bed is set up for winter and last night was terrible for sleeping because of the warm overnight temperature. I was hoping that it would be a little more bearable leaving the balcony door open, but it didn't help at all. I wish the thermometer would stay steady. I don't care for this roller-coaster ride!

Year 2023, Dec 1 - Dec 15 average temp was 48.8 F in an El Niño condition. (I live in Appalachian Mountains, SE West Virginia). Year 2024, Dec 1 - Dec 15 (using forecast high for today) average temp comes to 38.8 F in La Niña condition. Since moving here mid-2019, winter of 2020-2021 was the best, with frequent snowfalls (Dec - Feb), wintery cold, and beautiful. That was a La Niña winter.
it may change everywhere else, but for us in the mid-atlantic it will stay below ave temp until March. It's been that way for every winter over the past 20 yrs. The warm ups NEVER seem to effect us here due to the water temps on the coast.
Scott's Valley CA is only about 40 miles from where I live. We don't get crazy weather like this out here but I tell you this global warming is really starting to change the weather
The lack of snow this year in the west (like utah) is actually pretty concerning. I am hoping for at least some storms that can make it down into the area without falling apart. This year has been very dry though tbh, pesky high pressure over this area due to la-nina has been strong almost all year… hopefully at least the mountains can keep getting snow without it melting away, we really depend on that mountain snow to help get us through summer

@ an accurate weather forecast where I live is, “It will get light, then it will get dark, and there’ll be some weather in between!”
We use a stick here at my house. If it bends down it’s definitely going to rain. Wish it predicted temperature.
